GREED: ALL FOR WHAT? - Chapter 2270 2270: Cheating Divine Abilities.

Thanks to the Ancestral Power divine ability, the older and stronger a noble family becomes, the stronger their entire lineage will be. This is why Legion wasn’t so sure which one was cheating between the Power of Wealth and the Ancestral Power divine ability.
Eventually, they decided that both divine abilities were cheating. This made them think highly of Sir Kris, who happens to be in possession of both cheating divine abilities.
When Legion read this information about the two divine abilities, they became solemn and quickly sought information about the weakness of the two divine abilities.
What they discovered was that there were a lot of shortcomings in regard to the two divine abilities. The main shortcoming being that the two divine abilities don’t increase the power of the soul and mind.
The spiritual power of whoever is using either of the two cheating divine abilities won’t increase. So anything that targets this weakness will be able to bring it down.
Some of the outlined weaknesses were the mark of bondage of the pathway of slavery, the confusion of the divine ability of the pathway of error, the curse’s divine ability, the mental armament divine ability of the pathway of telepaths, and the various divine abilities of the pathway of illusionists.
What these abilities have in common is that they either affect the mind or bypass the body. The boost from Power of Wealth is especially vulnerable to them.
The power gained from Ancestral Power can still resist these divine abilities somewhat, but it won’t be as good as when a true legend is resisting because there will be lacking Spiritual Power to support the resistance.
But one pathway that absolutely floors these two divine abilities is the pathway of thieves. Be it their rank 4 divine ability called Stealing Abilities or their rank 5 divine ability called Stealing Power, there is no way to resist them if there isn’t enough spiritual power to resist.
As long as the spiritual power is lacking, a thief can steal the ability and can even steal the boost gained from the ability. And thanks to their rank 1 divine ability called Thieving Hands, they will be able to meet the requirements to use any divine ability or power that they stole.
When Legion-1 saw this, he asked in amusement, “Is the pathway of thieves the cheating pathway or these other two?”
Legion-2 replied with some anticipation, “I don’t know. But what I do know is that if our thief gains enough spiritual power, he will be able to steal the Mindscape for us.”
Legion-5 reminded them, “We won’t need our slave to steal it for us. We can steal it for ourselves when we become legendary slave masters.”
Legion-8 thought about it and said, “Now that I think about it, I think the pathway of slavery is the cheating pathway, not the pathway of thieves, nobles, or merchants.”
Legion-11 chuckled and said, “You’re right.”
They thought about it and determined that the pathway of slavery wasn’t so bad. After all, a rank 4 slave master can have a rank 6 slave, and that rank 6 slave can be a thief, merchant, or noble.
Once a slave master reaches rank 4, they can turn other godclads into puppets. The slave master won’t need to be strong in order to control the puppet.
The problem with this is if the gap of spiritual power between slave master and puppet is too wide, the puppet might grow to think that they are the real one and should be in control.
This is the backlash that usually happens when the puppet becomes too strong. This rebellion isn’t from the puppet itself. Its source is from the powerful divine flesh that the puppet has assimilated.
If the slave master doesn’t have a spiritual power that is strong enough to control the puppet and suppress the temptation of the divine flesh, not only can the puppet lose control and mutate, but even the slave master might lose control if the temptation from the puppet impacts their mind too much.
As long as the puppet itself doesn’t become a legend while they remain epic beings, there won’t be any problem. Meanwhile, the puppet can gain the power of legends through means such as the Ancestral Power divine ability or the Power of Wealth divine ability.
This is just what they can do as rank 4 slave masters. If they reach rank 6, they should be able to control legendary puppets.
Then the ability of slave masters skyrockets when they become legends. At that point, the slave masters will be able to use the divine abilities of their slaves themselves.
The more they thought about it, the more they thought that they were not losing out by choosing the pathway of slavery. They also thought about increasing the mastery of their Mark of Bondage divine ability so that they could have more than 9 slaves.
Their current mastery of the Mark of Bondage divine ability is 42%. So they are only 8% to the next milestone. Once they reach 50% mastery, they will gain another 3 slots for slaves and puppets.
Other slave masters will only be able to have 3 slaves with their level of mastery. In fact, other slave masters won’t be able to gain this much mastery in six months of becoming a godclad or become epic beings.
A normal godclad will probably still be at rank 1 or has just advanced to rank 2, so they shouldn’t have the Puppet divine ability and can’t make more puppets.
Even other godclads with the same level of mastery and the same rank as them will only have 3 slaves or puppets while they have nine. But they are not normal, so it is right that they are not satisfied with what they have achieved.
Not only are they not satisfied with the number of slaves that they possess, but they are also not willing to settle for Jack as a slave. They want a noble as a slave, but they don’t want just any noble anymore.
