Just a few seconds into the investigation, the suspicions of the machinist were proven right. He found men and women sprawled all over the base. They were lying on the ground dead with green skin and leaking, pus-filled boils all over their bodies.

He knew right from the start that his men had been infected with a deadly disease. He also suspected the culprit to be a propagator of disorder.

His suspicion gained some ground when he realized that one of his men was missing and that person was a new member that the gang had recruited a month ago in order to bolster his defenses.

He went in search of the suspect in hopes of finding the culprit. He was hoping that the suspect would lead him to the mastermind or at least take the blame for this massive catastrophe.

The place he went to look was the location that the suspicious man had listed as his place of residence. He knew that it was unlikely that he would find the man there, but he had no other choice about to where to search right now. He could only wish for the best as he did what he could do.

Unfortunately, his wishes couldn’t come to pass because he couldn’t find the suspect. The suspect had disappeared completely, leaving him with the deaths of 265 people to deal with.

Most of the dead people weren’t his men. They were only loaned to him temporarily for him to use to fend off the Golden Hammer gang. So those people will not be pleased to hear that their men have died.

Even if all of these men were employed by him, that doesn’t mean he owns their lives and can do anything with their lives. He had to subject himself to investigation and pay for damages.

In preparation for this, he told the world exactly what had happened. He also told anyone that would listen to him that he suspected the Golden Hammer gang.

This catastrophic event is the first of its kind in a long time. No such thing has happened for a very long time, so it drew a lot of attention and caused a lot of people to be afraid.

The game in the outer city had never been a fight to the death. The nobles use the game as an opportunity to get free labor, and the gang leaders, who used to be mercenaries and bounty hunters, use the game as an opportunity to settle down and earn some money in peace.

The funny thing was that some people believed this. They believed it because it was possible and because it would be outrageous for the Golden Hammer gang to do this knowing that they will turn everyone against them.

The main reason why they believed the Golden Hammer gang was that ever since the night when they attacked the Bright Gold gang and the Cold Blade gang, they haven’t broken the rules again.

It was the machinist and Rack who broke the rules, not the Golden Hammer gang. Plus, the Golden Hammer gang just annexed Rack’s territory. The smart thing to do was to settle down first and not rush to gain more territory by doing something so stupid as to kill their neighbors with a powerful disease.

Many people believed that the Golden Hammer gang was smart and wouldn’t do something like that. They also believed that it was Celine that made them break the rules in the first place. Since she had died, the Golden Hammer gang had been well-behaved, so this shouldn’t be caused by them.

But no matter how many people believed the Golden Hammer gang, no one objected to investigating the matter thoroughly.

Everyone wanted to know the truth and was willing to do anything to find out who was responsible for the death of these people. They were so desperate to find the culprit that they were willing to ask a judge to investigate.

While the Magi went in search of the origin of the disease by going to the black market to acquire information about those who had bought the disease recently, the fate weaver in the investigation team went in search of the propagator of disorder.

The propagator of disorder was tracked to a certain house in the inner city. This house belonged to one of the sons of Sir Kriss of the Edwin family.

This son was in control of the gang on the other side of the Machinist’s territory. So his gang stood to gain if the Machinist were to lose control of his territory.

This discovery got a lot of people talking. They were not saying nice things at all. They were all suspicious of this son of the Edwin family because there was clearly motive for the crime.
