The divine ability in question is their new Sensory Hijack divine ability. If they use it and Hypnotize to fool White Cloak into thinking that he is safe and that there is nothing to worry about, the soul that escaped would return.

Once the escaped soul returns, they will be able to enslave it together with the other souls using their Puppet divine ability. The only downside to this plan is that it will take time for Sensory Hijack and Hypnotize to fool White Cloak.

During that time, White Cloak can create a lot of problems for them. They prioritized keeping their identity as slave masters a secret, so they weren’t willing to waste time converting White Slave into their slave.

Since they couldn’t enslave him quickly, Legion decided to give up quickly. In order to prevent problems, Legion gave up on him and decided to kill him quickly.

They controlled Black Axe’s body to snap his neck. Then they used Mental Armament to scatter his mind for good measure.

White Cloak was killed less than five seconds after the torture began. Without the support of his body, his escaped soul couldn’t maintain its existence, so it scattered.

Legion sneered and said, “You think you could spite me by dying, but your death doesn’t mean much. You haven’t caused me irreparable damage. I just need to spend some time to create a new dreamer.”

They were disappointed by his death, but it was only that. In fact, their disappointment in White Cloak couldn’t last long because they had gained a lot in other ways and were in a good mood.

They had many reasons to be in a good mood. The first of them is that they earned some money from the other gang leaders through the ransom.

The second reason is that they gained a talented slave through Black Axe. Black Axe is similar to his sister in that the two of them have at least six souls and are capable of wielding two pathways.

The third reason is that they gained control of another gang, and it is a large one too. Not only do they gain more resources and territory through the Black and White gang, but they also gain a backdoor into the arrangements and schemes of the coalition of gang leaders established to deal with them.

The fourth and final reason that they are in a good mood is White Cloak’s corpse. From his corpse, they have gained the material that they can use to produce another epic dreamer.

So even if they are disappointed that White Cloak would rather die than submit, they couldn’t be disappointed for too long. They have gained too much to be in a bad mood.

Now that White Cloak is dead, Black Axe will be in sole control of the gang. This means that Legion will be in sole control of this gang.

What’s more, no one else will even know that White Cloak is dead because White Cloak rarely shows himself. As long as the Black and White gang is not challenged and doesn’t have to defend their territory in the open, no one will notice that White Cloak is absent. People will just think that he is sleeping somewhere.

Despite the total control that they have over the Black and White gang, Legion didn’t make Black Axe do anything that was out of place. Black Axe continued to act normal, which was basically antagonizing the Golden Hammer gang at every turn.

Black Axe continued to act like their enemy. He denied going to their territory to attack them and openly condemned them for beating him up and kidnapping him.

His actions made it so that no one suspected that he had been compromised. No one knew it, but it was a fact that Legion had become the largest shareholder in the outer city.

They were slowly becoming an unshakeable behemoth in the outer city, but Legion remained careful and greedy for personal power, not territory. They didn’t overplay their hands and draw attention to themselves, but they were not content with just controlling the Black and White gang.

They set their eyes on their neighbor, the Light Temple gang. As one of the only gangs that could challenge them, it became imperative that they sabotage the Light Temple gang before others use the gang against them.

They also wanted an epic healer. So enslaving the gang leader of the Light Temple gang was killing two birds with one stone for them.

Before Black Axe made a move to poach one of their slaves, they planned to wait until they reached the next milestone in their mastery of the mark of bondage divine ability before they made a move on the leader of the Light Temple gang.

This was mostly because they wanted to be able to spare a lot of slaves in order to subdue her quickly. They also wanted to keep extra slots in case of emergency.

But now that they have enslaved Black Axe and were willing to kill their useless slaves to free slots for slaves, they didn’t have to wait until they reached the next milestone of mastery and gained more slots. All they needed to do was send Black Axe to visit the leader of the Light Temple gang.

It was that easy to enslave her. They didn’t need to send slaves to sneak into her territory, and they didn’t need to worry about her security either.

They also didn’t need to worry about being caught. Black Axe was invited with open arms into the Light Temple gang. He was even able to ask for a private meeting with her. Then he enslaved her by touching her.

The whole meeting didn’t last a meeting. But Black Axe spent more time with her in order to pretend that they were discussing something important.

Just like that, Legion gained everything they needed to begin stuffing their slaves with two pathways. They didn’t start immediately, though. They still waited until they gained an extra three slots before they began their project.
