But just to be cautious, Legion-2 added to his suggestion, “We will also use the Danger Sense divine ability and the Predict divine ability to make sure that what we are doing is safe.”
Most of them agreed that it was a good idea, so they decided to go ahead with subduing the divine flesh.
They have four methods that they intend to try in their attempt to subdue the divine flesh. The first method is to use the divine abilities of the pathway of slavery.
This method was the shortcut they used to subdue the divine flesh. It wasn’t the normal way to subdue the virtual flesh, and they doubt it will be the orthodox way to subdue this divine flesh. But they hope it will work nonetheless.
The second method they plan to use is the divine abilities of the pathway of telepathy. That is, they intend to purge the divine flesh just like normal telepaths purge and subdue the virtual flesh.
If this doesn’t work, then they plan to purge the divine flesh using the divine abilities of the pathway of killing. They don’t know which divine abilities will work, so they plan to use all of them, from the rank 1 Sever to their new rank 8 Life Siphon divine abilities.
Lastly, if all of these fail, they will go the route of the church of justice and forge the divine flesh into a divine artifact. If the church of justice can manage this, it should be a good idea, and it should be possible for them to execute too.
Then they will sell the divine artifact for money as a method to get rid of the divine flesh. After all, if they can’t subdue the divine flesh, they don’t want it around them.
They started with the first plan. They didn’t touch the divine flesh. Instead of doing that, they used their mental probes to touch it and deposit the mark of bondage on it.
As soon as this happened, the divine flesh began to resist. They felt a powerful spiritual power erupt from it to push the mark of bondage away.
This turn of events startled Legion. This was because of all the things they expected; they didn’t expect the divine flesh to be alive.
They knew that the divine flesh was technically still alive. After all, they’ve heard that if all the divine flesh are gathered to form the body of the god of killing, the body will go on a rampage looking for the Ocean of Blood.
But the idea they had in mind was that the body of the dead god of killing was just a corpse without a soul. This is what everyone believes too.
But this divine flesh is producing spiritual power, which isn’t something a soulless corpse should be capable of. What’s more, the divine flesh is just a piece of flesh, not a whole corpse.
If not for the fact that they didn’t sense any danger, they would have run away as soon as possible from the divine flesh.
But instead of running away, the lack of danger emboldened them. Their eyes sharpened as they decided to continue trying to enslave the divine flesh.
They were losing the fight, but they didn’t panic because the Predict divine ability was telling them that something good was going to happen if they persisted while something terrible would happen to them if they gave up.
With thus information, it was easy for Legion to make a decision
This made Legion-5 chuckle and say, “So it is an endurance match, eh? We can manage that.”
Not only did they continue to pressure the divine flesh with the mark of bondage, but they also produced the black chains of the Imprison divine ability and bound the divine flesh up with it.
The spiritual power emanating from the divine flesh was something even an angel couldn’t match. But beyond resisting enslavement, there was nothing the source of the spiritual power could do through the divine flesh.
The divine flesh couldn’t escape and couldn’t fight back. It could only resist until Legion gave up or until it became tired of resisting.
As fate would have it, the divine flesh was the first to give up. It fought hard for over three hours, but it still ran out of steam.
When it stopped resisting, the mark of bondage fell on it and branded it as Legion’s slave. Then Legion quickly used the rank 2, rank 3, and rank 4 divine abilities of the pathway of slavery.
This started with the mark of bondage and ended with the divine flesh becoming their puppet.
Legion sighed in relief after they were done. The fight was truly tiring and had taken them more than three hours, during which they were burning through their spiritual energy.
It can be said that they had only won because they had a a large spiritual energy capacity and an even higher spiritual energy recovery rate. Both of these things were critical to their success.
Legion-10 said, “Does this mean that the god of killing is alive in some way?”
Legion-7 nodded and said, “It seems so. And it seems this divine flesh is very important to it, or it wouldn’t have fought like that to keep it.”
Legion-3 rubbed his hands and said, “Let’s see what’s so special about it.”
As he said so, they used the mark of bondage to control the divine flesh. When they did, they sensed two entities in the distance.
The first entity that they sensed was a large ocean of blood. They knew what it was as soon as they sensed it.
The second entity they sensed was a spiritual entity hiding deep within the earth. They didn’t know who this person was, but they could guess their identity after experiencing the skirmish they just had with the divine flesh.
