GREED: ALL FOR WHAT? - Chapter 2438: Confident Predator.

Chapter 2438: Confident Predator.
The same will happen when telepaths advance to rank 9 and gain the Mind Gestalt divine ability. All the telepaths that they have brainwashed will become the seedbed for them to use this new divine ability on.
So when Legion came up to her asking for information about the location of legendary illusionists, she decided to take advantage of it.
She didn’t know what Legion wanted to do with an illusionist. She didn’t even know if Legion was going to send anyone related to them to find the illusionist.
And she definitely didn’t know when Legion would try to find the illusionist or if Legion would try to find the illusionist at all. All she cared about was that Legion was interested in the illusionist.
That information was good enough for her to give Legion false information and send a virtual copy over to the fake location to create a trap. Now it was all paying off.
Once her virtual copy sensed Legion’s virtual copy, she came over immediately with her real body through the Mindscape and used the Sensory Hijack on Legion’s virtual copy.
The Sensory Hijack divine ability is a sneaky divine ability, so even people who are alert won’t know when they have been hit by it.
An epic telepath would surely notice when they’ve been hit by the Sensory Hijack divine ability. They might even be able to resist it, but a virtual copy won’t be able to notice a thing.
What she made the virtual copy see was the illusionist that it came looking for. Once the virtual copy has been ensnared, she began using her Mind Plague divine ability on it.
As she waited for the Mind Plague divine ability to completely corrode the Virtual Flesh, she urged it silently, “Come on. Faster now. Faster!”
But then the virtual copy popped and deflated. This was an indication that the virtual copy had lost the spiritual energy support of the main body and had become a rootless weed.
All that was left was some virtual flesh. She could do anything she wanted to do with this virtual flesh, but it wouldn’t affect Legion.
Instead of becoming angry at losing her prey, she only laughed and said, “How interesting. Very impressive. It seems that they had noticed the trap. Truly talented.”
After laughing in amusement, she shook her head and said, “Unfortunately, that isn’t enough to escape from me. Once you get into this trap, there is no escaping for you.”
She is confident that the target can’t escape from her because of the divine abilities of her second pathway. The pathway of fate, and it is good at finding people. Especially people that she has something that used to belong to them.
She had to give up on the pathway of fate after she became a legend, but the rank 6 pathway of fate still has plenty of divine abilities to help her find her target.
She went over and picked up the virtual flesh that had lost its support. Then she began using her divine abilities on it to trace the location of its previous support.
She started with the Predict divine ability. She poured her spiritual energy into the divine ability and waited for a result to appear.
Sometimes, it takes a long time before a result appears. But she was willing to wait and even more willing to spend ad much spiritual energy as necessary to find her prey.
But no matter how much she waited or how much spiritual energy that the divine ability guzzled, she got nothing back from it.
She got no feedback from the divine ability. It looked as if she was trying to find something that didn’t exist.
This made her face fall. Her face changed from being all smiles and amused to being gloomy and bordering on the edge of an angry outburst.
But she didn’t explode just yet. She used more divine abilities in order to gain something. She even used her rank 6 fate-scrying divine ability that cost her life span. But she still got nothing from it.
This made her understandably angry. She roared and said, “Damn it.”
She couldn’t believe that she had lost the perfect prey. Everything was in her grasp, and she thought that she had won, so it felt as if she had lost something very valuable thay she owned when she couldn’t find Legion.
She began to curse and stomp on the ground in anger. While she was doing this, Legion used Predict to check something. When they got a positive result and confirmed that everything was safe, they shifted into the divine form of the pathway of telepathy.
This divine form is that of a giant black bird with a single eye on its head and two small arms on its chest. This divine form helped them slip into the Mindscape and appear somewhere that they’ve been before.
Their target this time around is the location of the illusionist that a telepath in the Mind Hunters told them about. This is also the place where their virtual flesh was just trapped.
They went into the Mindscape and appeared in that location in a flash. Because they were undying godclads with an Aegis Shield, it was very difficult for fate-weaving divine abilities to work on them. But that didn’t mean that a fate weaver wouldn’t be able to sense danger as they came close.
However, their Aegis Shield shielded them long enough to be undetected by fate. It wasn’t until they appeared close to the demigod telepath that she sensed the danger.
When she sensed the danger, she was still cursing and stomping the ground. But when she sensed the danger, she had to stop doing those things.
She exclaimed in fear, “Oh shit.”
Then she activated all the traps she had in the area and tried to flee into the Mindscape. She didn’t hesitate to transform into her liberated form to escape. This was because she sensed immense danger from Legion.
