GREED: ALL FOR WHAT? - Chapter 2440: Double Trouble.

Chapter 2440: Double Trouble.
She knows how to get rid of the black chains. She even has two solutions for them. Unfortunately, she can’t execute either of the two solutions.
Fortunately for her, things are not completely hopeless. If she can’t break the chains, she can find someone to break them for her. She can also find someone to kill the target for her.
She was contemplating who to go to for help when she sensed danger. She tried to escape, but it was still too late by half a step.
Even before Legion appeared around her, they were already tossing out the Mind Domination divine ability. So the white halo struck her just as she disappeared.
She had disappeared, but the white halo had entered her body, so Legion wasn’t worried that she had escaped again. They only laughed and gave chase again.
She had lost her Mind Plague divine ability, which wasn’t good news to her. But it was great news to Legion because it meant thay rhey could now use mental divine abilities without fear of being infected.
This meant thay she battle had shifted again. But the battle had shifted in more ways than one.
Now that they had found her in the Mindscape and showed that they could track her somehow, she won’t fall for the same trick anymore. What she did to foil them was thay she didn’t stop moving at all.
Because she was constantly moving, Legion couldn’t catch up to her even though they could track her. But this didn’t mean that she could starve them off of her for much longer.
In fact, her situation was dire because Legion was now in her mind. A copy of their mind was in her mind and was attacking her.
She was a telepath and was very capable of resisting the virtual copy. But this will cost her spiritual energy to do.
The goal of the virtual copy in her mind was to make her expend spiritual energy. Victory or loss in the mental attack was irrelevant. As long as the virtual copy delayed her, Legiom didn’t mind if they couldn’t even reach the first layer of her mind.
She had used the Mental Armament divine ability to turn her mind into a fortress. There were thick layers of shields above the first layer of her mind thay prevented the virtual copy from being able to attack her mind.
She also created spears and whips with the Mental Armament divine ability and attacked the virtual copy with them in order to get rid of it. She was truly armed to the teeth.
She was in her home field with all the advantage, so she was winning this mental battle. The virtual copy had to run around evading her attacks in order not to be destroyed.
The way the virtual copy was running around was identical to the way that she was running away from Legion. Both parties were having their victories in different aspects and were at a stalemate.
Unfortunately for her, the stalemate didn’t last for long. The stalemate began to break when she began to run out of spiritual energy.
She couldn’t continue to use her divine abilities however she wished with her spiritual energy capacity running so low. She could only focus on running and defending her mind.
She stopped creating mental attacks, which meant that the virtual copy in her mind could now stop running around and could now attack. So she began losing on both fronts.
Using her liberated divine form was consuming spiritual energy. Running about in the Mindscape wasn’t free of charge either.
Then there was the imprison divine ability that was siphoning her spiritual energy like a blood-sucking parasite. Finally, there was the cost of defending her mind from the attacks of the virtual copy.
No matter how much she wanted to conserve spiritual energy, she just couldn’t. She ran out of spiritual energy, and the black chains were the first to take advantage of it.
The black chains slipped through her flesh to bind her soul. This severed her connection to her body and her divine abilities. She was forcefully removed from her liberated divine form and thrown out of the Mindscape.
The virtual copy was still in her mind, so it could now read her thoughts unimpeded. From what it saw of her thoughts and memories, Legion was able to confirm that she wasn’t faking her condition in order to lure them in.
But they were also able to confirm that she wasn’t done resisting. Apparently, where she had appeared in the physical world wasn’t by chance. She had appeared there intentionally instead of being forced out of the landscape because she couldn’t maintain her divine form.
She had made it appear as if she had been forced out of the Mindscape, but Legion wasn’t fooled. The truth was that she had appeared in the territory of a demigod.
She had even reached out to the demigod through one of her virtual copies. So the demigod is ready for her.
This demigod noble isn’t her friend. The demigod noble is only her acquaintance.
No one can be the friend of someone who can manipulate their minds. Not even telepaths want to be the friends of other telepaths.
The reason that this demigod even dared to do business with her was because he was a noble godclad. So he could protect himself against whatever she could do to him.
She had come to the territory of this demigod because he owed her a favor and had to help her once. So if legion followed her to the physical dimension, they would have to fight this demigod.
According to her estimates, Legion can’t win this fight no matter how powerful they are because they have expended a lot of spiritual energy capturing her.
This situation made Legion sneer and say, “How naive.”
She is right to believe that capturing her had used up a lot of spiritual energy. But she would be wrong to think that that meant that they were exhausted.
