After they hunted many psychic shriekers, they were able to pinpoint the location of the blood beasts. Even before they got to this location, the bait of the flesh of epic killers began to work because it was finally close enough to the targets to attract the targets.
The weaker blood beasts came to them, and they used these weak ones to find the stronger ones. So it was easy for them to find the blood beasts.
When they finally found the rank 9 blood beast that they wanted, they found that it was together with many other rank 9 blood beasts.
They knew why the blood beasts were congregating here after reading the memories of so many divine beasts. The reason was something that they could have guessed even if they couldn’t read memories.
This wouldn’t be the first time that something like this was happening. But they were still surprised by it because they didn’t expect it to happen to blood beasts at all.
They wouldn’t have been surprised if this had happened to the divine beasts of other pathways, but they didn’t expect that there would be a powerful killer in existence capable of drawing so many blood beasts. This made them both surprised and fearful.
They were afraid that this killer was Legion because if they were right, it meant that their hunt would be helping Legion advance to rank 9. So they wanted to eliminate the killer.
Unfortunately, they couldn’t get through the protection of the fortress. Even though the virtual copies could pass through walls and most obstacles, they couldn’t pass through the barrier around this fortress.
Since they didn’t know what was inside the fortress, they couldn’t use the Mindscape to enter it. So they had to give up on the powerful killer for now and get the rank 9 divine flesh that they came for in the first place.
They all entered the mind of a single rank 9 blood beast with their virtual copies. Then they ganged up on this single and began demolishing it bit by bit.
The rank 9 blood beast was vastly more powerful than them, but there was simply nothing that it could do to stop them. This was the benefit of being able to borrow the power of the authority of their pathway.
The rank 9 blood beast could only writhe in pain and agony on the ground. It cried and cried, but this did nothing to help alleviate its pain.
Eventually, its cries slowed down and became quieter. This was because too much of its mind was gone.
After the first layer of its mind was gone, it couldn’t experience any sensation or perceive the world anymore. So it couldn’t feel any pain or think about crying out in anguish.
By the looks of things, their hunt will end successfully. But the telepaths were solemn as they destroyed the mind of the blood beast. This was because they didn’t know if what they were doing was right or not.
Despite their concerns, they didn’t stop trying to kill the blood beast. However, while they were doing this, someone had already gone to inform the church of justice about the presence of a powerful killer in the spiritual dimension.
It was a pity that the church of justice only acknowledged the information but did nothing about it. This was because the god of justice doesn’t want to waste time on killers right now.
Actually, the people that the god of justice genuinely hates are slave masters, telepaths, and nobles, with the nobles being his most hated pathway. He dislikes killers, but it is not to the point where he would fixate on it for centuries on end without doing anything else.
Besides, he was able to kill the previous god of killing when that god of killing was at his strongest. So he is confident of doing the same if a new god of killing appears.
To top things off, he is busy with hunting the god of disaster currently and destroying the kingdom of Wessex. This is what the church of justice will be busy with for some time, and since the war with the kingdom of Wessex has started, they don’t have time to go pursuing some killer in the spiritual dimension.
The people of the church of justice didn’t tell the telepaths this, so the demigod telepaths didn’t know about the reaction and stance of the judges to the information of the existence of the powerful killer in the spiritual dimension.
This made them believe that the killer would be doomed even if they were Legion. So they eagerly broke down the mind of the rank 9 blood beast, thereby severing the connection between the soul and body of the killer.
After a while without the support of the soul, the body ran out of life energy and stopped being able to produce more life energy. So the rank 9 blood beast finally died.
One of them quickly arrived in the spiritual dimension by the Mindscape, grabbed the corpse of the rank 9 blood beast, and left in a hurry.
Meanwhile, Legion had gone to deal with the angel of slavery. Their first move was to order their slaves to begin killing everyone.
They gave all of their slaves the rank 6 Bloodthirsty divine ability through their rank 2 Life Bond divine ability so that by killing people, they would be able to raise their spiritual power.
This was after they had used the rank 8 Chain of Command divine ability on them. So their spiritual power was already at the angelic level. The combination of the Bloodthirsty divine ability and the killing would then help raise their spiritual power to the limit of the mortal realm.
They were also doing this in order to meet the qualifications needed to become an angel of killing.
The minimum requirement for a killer to become an angel is to kill 10 million people, so they have a lot of people to kill before they can assimilate the rank 9 divine flesh that the demigod telepaths are preparing for them.
