GREED: ALL FOR WHAT? - Chapter 2477: A Better Future.

Chapter 2477: A Better Future.
As Legion-10 appeared on the mental battlefield, they said to the first angel, “It seems we are the only ones on the battlefield now.”
The angel said to Legion grimly, “As expected, you have become an angel of telepathy. But you’re wrong to believe that. We are not the only ones on the battlefield.”
This reply made Legion-10 scoff and say, “I know that you haven’t converted the minds of everyone here. But I still don’t think the ones that escaped your grasp matter in the outcome of this battle.”
“Look around you. You will see that things have gone too far. They can’t change the outcome of this battle in any way. They might as well be bystanders on this battlefield. Their sole purpose is to bear witness to who will gain control of the Mind Palace and become the god of telepathy.”
The first angel asked him, “If they don’t matter, why are you trying to convert them and add them to your mind?”
Legion-10 replied, “I’m doing them a favor. Their minds don’t matter now, but once I convert them and they become a part of me, their minds will gain a new purpose, and they will matter.”
The first angel sneered and said, “I can give them a new purpose too. Since I know them so well, I should be the one to convert them.”
Legion-10 sneered back and said, “You have had your chance many times and have failed to convert them. This is my time now. I will be the one to give them their new purpose.”
“Besides, if they become one with me, they will have a better future. After all, I will win this fight, so they will be a part of god, not a loser like you.”
The first angel roared at them and said, “Dream on.”
They were chatting with each other, but the fight between them was fierce.
On one side was Legion and 12 demigod telepaths helping them. On the other side was the first angel and 13 demigod telepaths.
Of these 13 demigod telepaths, 7 of them came from the 9 demigods that were waiting earlier.
These 7 were part of the earlier group of 15. They had actually been converted by the Gestalt Mind divine ability a long time ago but had been hiding themselves.
These 7 were not the only ones that had been converted and were hiding. There were more people that had been converted out of the initial 30 demigods that had been on the battlefield before Legion joined the battle. He had actually secretly converted 10 of the 30 demigods into his secret agents.
Legion had converted the rest of these secret agents when they joined the batflefield. They had also done so without the angel noticing, which frightened him and made him suspect that Legion had already become an angel.
The angel of telepathy had been stumped all of these years on the Mind Palace and couldn’t gain control of it, but it was clear that he had been very busy. He had been slowly tracking down the demigod telepaths and converting them in secret.
Not only that, but but he had also been secretly creating more demigod telepaths. That’s where the new 6 demigods came from. These 6 new demigods are the ones that joined the 7 secret agents to make 13 demigod telepaths helping the angel of telepathy on the battlefield.
It is clear that the angel of telepathy had been preparing for a long time. If his plan had worked, he would have taken the battlefield by storm and quickly taken control of the Mind Palace before anyone could react.
He had 10 secret agents and 6 demigod telepaths that had never appeared in the Mind Palace. Combined with the power of his mind, he would have surely been victorious if he had attacked with all of his might before Legion appeared.
There was no way the remaining 20 demigods would have been able to resist this line-up, but he had been holding back because he suspected that these 20 demigod telepaths were hiding their true strength like him.
He didn’t want to expose his cards only to fall short and fail. So he wanted to keep accumulating his forces and attack when he was certain of victory.
He was certain that he had nothing to worry about because he was the only angel who could truly control the Mind Palace and because no one could take control of the Mind Palace without overwhelming power.
So even if an angel suddenly appeared, he would still have the advantage of accumulating power all of these years of waiting. By effort and rights, he should have been the one to gain control of the Mind Palace. Unfortunately for him, Legion appeared.
Legion’s appearance disrupted his plan. Even then, he still didn’t decide to expose all of his cards just yet. He pretended to try his best to take over the Mind Palace and allowed the other demigods to do their best to get rid of him.
His goal for pretending was to see what they were capable of and to delay for time so that he could continue to accumulate more power. Unfortunately, he couldn’t stop pretending after Legion successfully became an angel and used the Gestalt Mind divine ability to convert the minds of the 6 invaders.
Legion had done something that he had never been able to do. Of course, that was also because he had never truly tried his best and gone all out to try and gain control of the Mind Palace.
But the truth remained that if he stood aside and watched, Legion would surely take over the Mind Palace. So he stopped pretending.
He showed up to stop Legion’s 10 from converting more of the 9 demigod telepaths. Then he took control of 7 of the 9 demigods and even made the 6 demigods that he had hidden from everyone enter the Mind Palace and join him in battle.
