Chapter 2639: A Secret Enemy.

They heard the call of the god of warriors about the location of the god of telepathy and attacked the place that he was pointing at. Their reaction was very quick. Unfortunately, most of their attacks missed.

No matter how quick acting they are, it is still very difficult to hit something they can’t see. However, area of attacks like the Space Slice divine ability of the pathway of walkers and the Chaos Domain divine ability of the pathway of error hit them.

Actually, nothing should have hit the virtual body after the Chaos Domain took effect. The Chaos Domain had scattered all of their attacks and should have caused everything to miss them. But a stroke of luck, one spatial slice attack had struck them.

The spatial slice attack that struck them quickly collapsed the slave around them and caused spatial cracks to spread out from the point of impact. This was not what they expected to happen after they saw all of the attacks of their enemies being scattered in various directions.

Legion didn’t know that there was a sixth god in hiding, helping these five gods out. This was because they had become too strong for the Danger Sense divine ability to take effect. After all, if they are not in any danger, what is there to sense?

They were truly in no danger despite the secret help of the god of luck. After the spatial crack disappeared, the body of the virtual body appeared to be injured. But it was still fine and was still absorbing the Soul Well.

The Soul Well has to be absorbed into the body and refined in order to gain control of it. Only people who can’t die can achieve this because the Soul Well will be striking the person trying to gain control of it with spiritual attacks and death element attacks.

The death element attacks will cause the body to age, lose its life force, lose its vitality, and decay, while the spiritual attacks will cause the soul to fracture. They have to ensure all of these whole using their Rewind and Restore divine ability to refine it.

They were doing well and would do even better if not for these people interrupting them. Unfortunately for their enemies, their power is far from enough to stop them from achieving what they want to achieve.

Even the Betrayal ultimate ability that the god of crime had used on them when the spatial crack outlined their body briefly wasn’t enough to stop them.

The virtual body turned to the god of crime and said, “I already helped you to get rid of the god of justice, but instead of thanking me, you have risen against him. Ungrateful wrench. No wonder everyone hates you.”

They know why the god of crime hated them, but they pretended not to know and acted like someone who had unjustly maligned. Their reaction was perfectly normal, though. After all, no one should know what the true plan of the god of crime was for the god of crime was.

Right now, everyone thought that the god of crime was only fighting the god of telepathy so as to put an end to the growth of the god of telepathy. Only the god of crime himself, the god of history, and the god of travelers knew why he wanted to kill the god of telepathy so much.

However, no matter how great the hatred of the god of crime was or how dedicated the other high gods were to stopping the god of telepathy, they couldn’t stop the tables from turning against them.

The attacks of the virtual body had reached them and had begun to take effect. Not only were the attacks too strong for them to bear, but the devastating power of the attacks was only getting stronger over time instead of lessening.

So the table was surely turning against them, and it was turning quickly towards their demise. They had to do something in order to save their lives, or they would die here.

The god of walkers chose to teleport away in order to save his life. Unfortunately for him, distance wasn’t a factor regarding the power of the Mind Plague divine ability.

The Mind Plague divine ability clung to his existence and wore down his outer bodies slowly and surely without giving him any respite. No amount of teleportation could save him from death. Not even phasing himself by using the Space Shift divine ability could save him from this.

The god of walker’s defenses was broken, and his mind was crippled in some corner of the world. The damage to his mind forced him to enter a state of slumber that he will never wake up from without the permission of the god of telepathy.

Legion could have killed him, but they preserved his life so that they would have targets to practice the ultimate ability of the authority of slavery on. This is also why they let the god of knowledge escape.

The god of warriors and the god of thieves couldn’t escape this fate either. Only the god of merchants and the god of crime were able to escape.

The god of merchants escaped by buying her life. She used her authority, the Worth of Worlds, to estimate the value of the attack trying to kill her. Then she paid off the attack using the lives of her subordinate gods and every divine being who owed her money.

So all of her subordinate gods and every divine being now belong to Legion. The contract of the transaction was given to the virtual body, while the god of merchants escaped.

Legion will be able to use the contract to find and subdue everyone who is on the list. So they were very satisfied with this list.

Unfortunately for the god of merchants, the fact that she could do something like this only made Legion want to control her more. She may have escaped now, but she has also succeeded in creating more future troubles for herself.
