Guide to raise my cutie husbands - Chapter 1848 - 1848: The Traitor (2)

Of course neither Qin Chen nor the women under her moved to save Miss Zheng. Who asked this woman to cause trouble? She knew what kind of person Yu Dong was and yet she went ahead and caused trouble.
If they had known that the woman was this strong and ruthless, they would have never come here! In a way it would be right to say that they were caught in this mess because of Miss Zheng! If not for her, they wouldn’t be in this situation.
Yu Dong sneered and kicked the woman in the heart, causing Miss Zheng to fly back like a broken piece of log.
However, before Miss Zheng could fall on the ground and faint, Yu Dong caught her by her collar and questioned, “Who was the one who told you the truth about these livestock? You better be honest with me.”
“I—I don’t know,” Miss Zheng confessed. “I never met with the person; it was my mother who met with her. I was only in charge of getting hold of the cattle and bringing them to the city. I don’t know anything about the person behind it.”
Yu Dong sneered and then turned on her feet before saying to the rest of the villagers, “Drag them to the village.”
On the other side, when Shen Li and the rest heard that the cattle were found, they heaved a sigh of relief and the boulder that was pressing on their hearts finally fell down.
Chen Mi clapped his hands in a praying motion and said, “This is great news!”
Beside him Fang Chi nodded excitedly. Even Ye Liu sat down on a chair to relax his feet; ever since he found that the cattle were stolen, he had been pacing around in the room. He was worried that if the cattle were taken away, then it wouldn’t take long for Yu Dong’s powers to come out. Thankfully, Little Goat and the rest of the cattle were found or else their family would be in so much trouble!
“I will go and prepare something to eat,” said Chen Mi when he saw how exhausted Ye Liu looked. The poor mer was carrying a bun but because of his worries, he didn’t even eat anything for an entire day. No matter how much they asked him to eat something, Ye Liu couldn’t stomach it as he felt nauseous because of his worries.
Ye Liu nodded. After his worries eased, he was no longer as nauseous as he was earlier.
“I will come and help you,” Fang Chi said to Chen Mi, who nodded, and the two of them went to the kitchen.
Because it was already too late, they decided to cook some rice porridge with shredded chicken.
It didn’t take long for the cattle to return with the huntresses and Yu Dong.
As soon as the cattle returned, the families who lost them heaved a sigh of relief.
“Fortunately they are back!”
“Thank goodness. For a second I was worried about how to fertilise the land; now that Big Moo is back, I can continue working hard.”
“You idiot, don’t you know how to bray when you are kidnapped? And here I thought that you were smart.”
All kinds of complaints filled with relief echoed in the village.
When Yu Mai heard that Little Goat was back, he was no longer sleepy and rushed out of the house with Lang Ru.
“Little Goat!” he screamed happily before throwing himself at Little Goat, who rubbed his head against the tiny face of Yu Mai.
He really missed this little master when he was captured and he was also very worried as he knew that this little master was attacked by that ugly woman.
“Madam Yu,” someone in the crowd greeted Yu Dong, who turned to look at her and nodded.
“Where did you find the cattle? Were they really taken by outsiders?”
“That’s right,” Yu Dong didn’t shy away and spoke honestly. “There were a bunch of outsiders who took them away.”
As soon as she finished speaking, everyone turned to look at one another. Since that was the case, wasn’t it clear already? It was someone from the village who betrayed them.
After they digested the piece of news, they all turned to look at Yu Dong and asked, “Are we going to call the Yamen officers?”
“Of course,” Yu Dong replied without hesitating. “Someone tried to harm the village like this—shouldn’t we call the yamen?”
Not only did this person try to harm them, but this matter was closely related to the oil mill as well.
As long as this person was not apprehended along with Madam and Miss Zheng, there was a chance that the formula of the rice bran oil would be leaked. It was better to send these people to prison before things went south!
With that thought in her head, Yu Dong sent a mammy to call the Yemen officers.
As soon as the news came out that Yu Dong had called the yamen officers, the villagers heaved a sigh of relief. Don’t blame them for being cruel. After all, these cattle were their lifeline; their waste could be used as an excellent fertiliser, which allowed their crops to grow well.
If the cattle were gone, what would happen to them?
How would they earn the money? Thus, this person who betrayed the village was really their enemy!
At the same time, Second Aunt Yu looked at the villagers who were cursing the traitor and felt a thin layer of sweat cover her head.
Old Master Tong, who was standing next to him, saw her peculiarity and asked, “What is wrong with you?” His daughter was fine just a few minutes ago; why did she suddenly turn pale like this as if she was sick?
“I am fine,” Second Aunt Yu said through gritted teeth. Her mind was almost blank and she had no idea what to do. Madam Zheng said that nothing would go wrong, so how come things turned south like this!
