Guide to raise my cutie husbands - Chapter 1860 - 1860: Headed to War (2)

Yu Linyun stiffened when she heard the words of the yamen officers; she turned to look at the woman who was holding her arm and said to her, “Officer, this mer had taken a lot of things from me and even lied to me. You heard the physicians. I cannot have a child, but this mer cheated on me and made me raise a bastard.”
“No matter what the case, you cannot hit someone in front of us,” said the officer sternly.
Master Yu heaved a sigh of relief when he heard the words of the officer. He knew that he was saved but at the same time, he became worried because he knew that now that the truth was out, Yu Dong would not let him stay in this house.
His dream of living a good life came to such a bitter end!
Master Yu was filled with regret as well; if he had known that such a thing would happen, he would have thought twice before scheming against Yu Linyun.
“Officers, please—listen to me… I didn’t do it because I wanted to… It was Madam Zheng! Madam Zheng was the one who asked me to do it. Yu Linyun realised that her situation was turning worse from bad and started struggling.
However, no matter what she said, no one was willing to listen to her.
Yu Dong watched the woman being dragged away and didn’t say anything.
Instead she turned to look at Village Head Gu and said to her, “Will you come outside with me, Village Head?”
Village Head Gu nodded. She thought that Yu Dong wanted to discuss the matter of the village safety with her. However, as the two of them stepped out of the Old Yu house, Yu Dong relayed the matter of going to war to her!
“Wh—what? War?” Yu Dong’s words left Village Head Gu shocked and speechless. “How—how can you be heading to war, Madam Yu? What about your family?”
“This is what I wanted to say to you,” Yu Dong said with a polite smile. “I want you to take care of my family while I am gone, though I know that Aunt Wang and Sister Junfen would be willing to care for them but just in case they are not available, take care of my husbands and children.”
“Then—then when are you leaving?” Village Head Gu asked.
“Now,” Yu Dong sighed as she looked in the direction of the Yu house; she wanted to say goodbye to her husbands.
But when she thought about it carefully, she knew that she wouldn’t be able to leave.
Yu Dong turned to look at Village Head Gu, whose eyes were filled with tears.
“Don’t look at me like that, Village Head Gu,” Yu Dong patted the old woman on the shoulders before saying to her, “If fate allows it, we will meet again.”
She then turned around and walked over to the horse that was standing a bit far from where she was standing.
Yu Dong climbed up on the horse; she turned to look at Village Head Gu and said to her, “Do let my husbands know that I already left, Village Head Gu. I am sorry for the trouble.”
“Mad—madam Yu!” Village Head Gu chased after Yu Dong, who let out a hiyah and whipped her horse, who stormed out of the village.
The poor woman watched Yu Dong leave with dread creeping over her spine.
“What happened?”
The crowd who was watching the show turned around and headed out of the house when Master Yu was thrown out of the house with his belongings.
However, they saw Village Head Gu standing outside like a statue.
“Village Head Gu?”
Village Head Gu snapped out of her daze and turned to look at the crowd standing behind her.
“You—you guys, what are you doing?” Village Head Gu asked with a frown on her face.
“This question should be asked by us,” said one of the women. She looked at Village Head Gu and then said to her, “You were the one who was standing in the middle of the path like you had seen a ghost. What’s going on?”
Upon hearing that question, Village Head Gu’s face turned pale with anger as she snapped, “Bah! Don’t even get me started on that Yu Linyun! She had ruined our village.”
As soon as she finished speaking, she relayed everything that Yu Dong had told her and where she had gone; once Village Head Gu finished speaking, the entire crowd turned silent.
“Madam Yu went to war?”
“How can she go to war?”
“She might be talented in fighting but how can she join the war!?”
“What would happen to our village?”
Village Head Gu looked at the worried faces and snorted. “If you have any complaints, then take it up with Yu Linyun. She is the one who caused this situation to escalate to this point.”
After she finished speaking, she turned on her feet and walked to the Yu house. She needed to relay the information of Yu Dong leaving the village and joining the war to Shen Li and the rest.
Village Head Gu dreaded being the bearer of the bad news but this was what Yu Dong asked her to do. And compared to her joining the war, this was much easier.
At least that was what she thought but as soon as she arrived at the Yu house and relayed the piece of news to Shen Li,.
Village Head Gu had no idea what and how she should explain the situation. The second she finished speaking, Ye Liu and Chen Mi fainted on the spot, while Fang Chi burst into tears.
The children who saw the chaos in the living hall burst into tears as if they realised that something was wrong.
Only Shen Li was calm but when he parted his lips and said, “I—understand.”
Village Head Gu knew how much courage and patience it took! His voice was trembling as he spoke those words. Seeing the conditions of the five mers, Village Head Gu couldn’t help but blame Yu Dong for being too cruel.
How could she leave without seeing her husbands?
