Harem Stealer: Reborn with the God-Tier Sharing System - Chapter 487 That's the price

Chapter 487 That’s the price
In her realm, Gaia immediately paused what she was doing, snapping her head toward one direction.
Nothing could be seen from where she sat except the people of her realm going on with their lives, but the Will Eternal was seeing so much more-and what she saw sent a strange jolt of feeling through her.
“Already?” she whispered, watching how a part of the Spirit World was completely curtained by the power of one of Them-of the Pale Lady.
Her brows furrowed, her face frowning in a worried manner as she witnessed Noah bringing the vessel of Her into his consciousness.
Gaia, even knowing she should not, instinctively tried to stop the event. However, it was far too late, and she could not access the consciousness of Noah.
Not if she didn’t want to hurt him.
“I truly wished I was wrong about you, Raj. Why are you so troublesome?” Gaia exhaled, closing her eyes in a failed attempt to calm her stomping heart.
She was not surprised by the fact that the Pale Lady had a vessel birthing inside the Spirit World.
How could she be? She was the one who made Her have easier access to the Perfected Reality, and even began the process of her descent to the Spirit World.
Anyone knowing such a ridiculously dubious affair would think Gaia a foolish woman, bringing the weapon of doom into herself.
It was indeed the truth.
The Pale Lady was one of Them. And their desire was nothing but to devour her and obtain the Seed she was created from.
The Seed of one of the Olds. The one They called the Interpreters.
Gaia did not know who those Olds were; the Son of Emptiness refused to let a single word out of his mouth.
And she had only managed to learn all this lately, all thanks to the Pale Lady.
It had been dangerous to expose herself in that way in front of Them, but by now she had learned that she needed to accept that wind of danger if she wanted to know the truth behind the actions of the Son of Emptiness.
Even now, there were still missing pieces. Gaia still didn’t know why Noah, the Merchant, and the One of Fire were needed in this protection task.
But that was something she planned to ponder upon later, for now…
Gaia looked back at the Spirit World, and finally let out a small smile, though it was slightly strained.
“Did it go as you planned?” a voice echoed around her, old, genderless, and flat, seeming to come from all sides.
“I have learned something about my son, Heboric…”
“Now you acknowledge he is your son? I have known you to be more stubborn than this, Gaia.”
“…stay silent when I speak.” She snarled, then continued. “As I said, I know my son. I have watched him grow for thousands of years without my eyes leaving him for a single second. He is a troublemaker, he is arrogant, and he is curious and daring.”
“The qualities needed to be the Prince,” Heboric paused. “Maybe the King, if he is worthy.”
“True.” Gaia nodded. “That’s why I personally allowed the Pale Lady to create a vessel only in the Principality of the Primus Universe.”
She smiled, looking at the strangely colored patch of earth beneath her, recalling how many times she altered the time of the Spirit World to make it possible.
All of that with none being the wiser.
“The Pale Lady was different from the others,” Gaia followed up. “She didn’t want to eat me like all of them. Instead, she wanted to corrupt my very Seed so that I could become an extension of Her. For what? I know not. But that made her wish to have an anchor inside me.”
“And now, are you not afraid?” Heboric inquired. “She now has an anchor. Even if it seems you do have a plan, she is one of Them. You would be a fool and more to believe they can be kept at bay. They are created from-!”
“I know, Heboric.” Gaia interrupted harshly. “And here is another thing I learned about my son: he always finds a way to turn a
disadvantageous situation into a good one.”
“You use your son to solve your own problem?”
“I am giving him the ability to shield himself from the Son of Emptiness. The only ones who could hide him are Them.”
“In the event he does succeed in obtaining her agreement… do you understand what you are implying? One of Them accepting to humor a wretched reality-dweller?”
“It’s only a vessel from the Main Self. It’s more doable than you think.”
“The Main Self will know, and you won’t be left unharmed.”
Gaia scoffed. “You don’t know the situation between Them. What do you think will happen if the others know that the Pale Lady already
has access to reality?”
Heboric’s answer didn’t come immediately, reflecting as he understood Gaia’s point. His reflection was cut short by Gaia’s voice, which continued calmly.
“Let me tell you, Heboric, what they will do. They will do anything to
cripple her and take the link for themselves. So believe me, she will not dare come to me at least not immediately – for she will fear what I might say to her lovely friends when I have no other escape.”
Be wary of the cornered rat.
Heboric chuckled coldly. “You are putting your life on the line, Gaia.”
“That’s the price.”
“All to help your son? He is only one being, yet you doomed the life of
a whole reality because of him.”
“That one being is my son, Heboric.”
“He is worth more than all of them?”
“Do I need to spell it out for you? He is worth, in my eyes, more than
even you.”
Heboric visibly paused, then grunted irritably. “That hurts.”
Gaia shrugged, answering with silence, turning her attention back to
the event unfolding in the Spirit World.
Noah needed to be fast, for the Son of Emptiness would soon have the luxury to peek and feel that something was wrong within her. And before that happened, Noah needed to gain control of the vessel of the Pale Lady, granting him protection and power. Even while thinking that, Gaia couldn’t stop her stomach from
knotting into a ball. She was achingly worried. It was dangerous, extremely so, to allow one of Them this close to her and her son. The Pale Lady might act in a way she didn’t expect, dooming them
completely.
However, there was no other viable choice at present.
Now she knew she must protect herself, and protect the one she cared for, for the Son of Emptiness’s protection might not last forever.
Sighing, Gaia closed her eyes.
“You are the Selfborn, the Son of Will Eternal, the one who stole my
power and made me go through childbirth…”
She let out a faint smile, remembering that day. Strangely, those memories were now fond to her.
“…you can do this again, can’t you?”
Gaia believed in her son. Then again, she had no choice but to do so.
There was no other option.
…
Meanwhile, in the Primeval Consciousness of Raj, Noah stood face to
face with the vessel of the Pale Lady, having regained his mobility.
He smiled sheepishly.
“I am sorry…”
The Pale Lady’s eyes turned deathly.
“…I didn’t mean to kiss you.” -End of Chapter 487-
