Harem System In A fantasy World - Chapter 143: Social Butterfly

Chapter 143: Social Butterfly
He was not even close.
Even if he saved every point, even if he drained every last ounce of “affection” from his current partners for months, he would still be nowhere near something like a dragon or vampire bloodline.
He let out a long, heavy sigh.
[Told you…] The system said smugly.
“Shut up,” Elion muttered flatly.
And here he was thinking he was rich. Turns out, he was barely middle-class in the Bloodline section.
He rubbed his temples slowly.
So that was the reality of things.
If he wanted a ridiculous stat growth again, he would need to either break through mage ranks like a normal… or find some truly absurd opportunity.
His best bet was the Hidden Legacy world.
Until then, he was stuck riding with controlled progression like everyone else.
His eyes flickered back to the Primordial Dragon Bloodline.
Five hundred million points.
He laughed under his breath.
“Fine,” he muttered. “If that’s what it costs to break the ceiling… then I’ll just have to raise it myself.”
The system remained silent this time.
“How about you show me stuff I can afford instead. Useful things, of course, stuff that I can actually make use of. Don’t try to swindle me.”
[When have I ever done that?]
Elion didn’t answer, instead waiting for the system to show him the goods. But before the items could even unravel before him.
Tok tok.
A light knock sounded on his door
Elion glanced at the system store one last time before closing the panel with a thought. Millions of points for a bloodline? He was still skeptical, but he would deal with that insanity later.
“Who is it? It’s open,” he called casually.
The door didn’t open.
He raised a brow, then stood and walked over to it. When he pulled it open, he blinked in mild surprise.
The visitor was…unexpected.
“Hey there.”
Liora stood in the doorway with her hands clasped loosely behind her back. Her long pink hair fell neatly over her shoulders, and she wore her usual navy academy uniform, though it looked slightly more fitted than most, with the unique DC badge on the right side of her chest.
“Uh… hi?” Elion replied. “How did you find my room?”
She tilted her head slightly.
“Hmmm? Oh, I have actually been here before, while looking for you for one of our patrols, I asked around.”
He stared at her for a second.
“That’s it?”
“Yes,” she said simply, as if it were the most obvious thing in the world. Then she turned on her heel. “Come, let’s go.”
“Wait,” he said, stepping fully into the hallway and closing his door behind him. “Go where? Do we have patrol today?” She just comes out of nowhere, tells him to follow without asking him if he is busy!?
“Wait! Where are we going?” To his dismay, she didn’t stop walking.
“You’ll see. Just hurry.”
Elion sighed lightly but locked his door anyway before following after her. The corridor was mostly empty, with only a few scattered students moving about as they settled back in.
“You are so irritating, you know that? Can’t you just tell me what it is that you want?” he muttered.
Liora glanced back at him over her shoulder, a faint smile tugging at her lips.
“If I told you, it wouldn’t be fun now, would it?”
He studied her for a moment as he fell into step beside her.
“Fun for you….And here I thought you came to welcome me back.”
“That too,” she replied easily. “But mostly the other thing.”
Elion narrowed his eyes slightly.
“Which is?”
“I’m not going to say Elion.”
They walked in silence for a short while before reaching the main tower. Liora stepped straight toward the elevator without hesitation.
Elion followed her inside.
The metal doors slid shut with a soft hum, and the platform began to rise smoothly. Elion leaned lightly against the wall, arms crossed.
“So,” he said casually, “are we going to the office?”
That was the only thing that made sense. The elevator continued upward. Then it slowed. Elion frowned slightly.
The indicator stopped at the second floor. Not the upper levels.
The doors slid open with a quiet chime. Liora stepped out immediately.
“Come on, let’s go!” she called over her shoulder.
Elion pushed off the wall and followed her out, confusion settling in.
The second floor was where everything for second-year students was located. Their dormitories, lecture halls, private training chambers, and shared facilities were all arranged across this level.
As Elion followed Liora down the wide corridor, he began to notice something unusual. There were far more students gathered than normal, clustered ahead in a tight crowd. Murmurs filled the hallway, low and tense.
He frowned slightly. There were far too many people around on this floor, and it was only the morning of the day people were supposed to be returning.
Either the second years were far more dedicated to their academy life, or they had never left the academy to begin with.
“The second years didn’t leave for break?” he asked.
Liora shook her head as she kept walking.
“No. We had… an ongoing special assessment.”
Her tone made it clear there was more to that story, but she wasn’t going to say any more.
They continued forward, weaving through scattered students until they reached a particularly crowded section of the corridor. A group of second years stood outside one of the reinforced training halls as if waiting for something while whispering anxiously.
Some of the girls waved to Liora as soon as they spotted her. It was kind of obvious to see that they were eager to come chat, but what they were doing was far more important than whatever idle talk they usually had with Liora.
“And we have a bit of a situation,” Liora added quietly.
Elion glanced at her sideways.
“What kind of situation?”
She exhaled slowly.
“The kind that requires someone strong, like you.”
“There are a lot of strong second years here….” Liora did not answer to that.
They walked past the gathered students. “Not that kind of strength. I thought you would help me sort this out,” she said calmly.
Elion crossed his arms.
“And why me?”
She gave him a look.
“Well… Just a feeling.”
Elion and Liora walked through the second-year halls for quite some time before reaching another busy corridor.
In fact, this place was loud and packed with people and excited voices.
Unlike the section they had just left, this level was far more lively. Students moved in and out of classrooms, some carrying stacks of books, others returning from training sessions with damp hair and tired expressions.
The atmosphere was busy but familiar, like a small town where everyone knew everyone else.
“Liora!” someone called from across the corridor.
She turned immediately, her face lighting up. “Oh, hey! Did your team finish the mana theory exam?”
“I barely survived,” the girl replied with a laugh.
Liora grinned. “Told you to revise the third section.”
They exchanged a few more light words before Liora waved and continued walking.
Elion couldn’t help but observe quietly. Every few steps, someone greeted her. A nod. A wave. A quick joke. She responded to each one naturally, as if she truly enjoyed it.
She wasn’t just known.
She was liked.
He found himself mildly impressed.
She has very good social skills. He already knew that. But seeing her talk and relate to every single one of her peers that she had a conversation with was different.
