Harem System In A fantasy World - Chapter 181: The gist of it

Chapter 181: The gist of it
Evander leaned back slightly in his chair and lifted a hand toward Celeste.
“You may proceed.”
Elion raised a brow in surprise.
He leaned slightly toward Liora, who was seated beside him, and gave her a questioning look that said, ’I thought Cedric was the secretary?’
Liora, who understood his confusion, leaned closer and whispered softly into his ear.
“Celeste is Evander’s secretary now.”
Elion blinked. ’That explains it.’
Still, Celeste did not look particularly pleased about the role. She sighed quietly as she stood and walked to the head of the table, a stack of documents in her hand.
She positioned herself beside Evander, her expression calm but clearly annoyed.
“You four,” she said, her red eyes settling on William, Kaia, Ceryn, and Ymir. “Step forward.”
They hurried to stand in front of the table. Celeste glanced down at the papers and began.
“Summary of events. After questioning the three girls and obtaining their statements, this is the current understanding.”
She inhaled softly.
“Three days ago, William Dawncrest instructed first-year students Kaia Potter, Ymir Zhen, and Ceryn Drumoord to corner Elion somewhere within the academy halls.”
“Lies!” William shouted.
“Be quiet,” The voice came from Seraphine.
She did not even look at him, yet a subtle wave of mana pulsed through the room. William staggered two wide steps backward, his face draining of color. The pressure was brief but undeniable.
Celeste continued as if nothing had happened, though William’s teeth were grinding audibly.
“As I was saying,” she went on smoothly, “they were asked to lure him to a private location and initiate sexual activity.”
The room grew very quiet.
“The goal,” she read carefully, “was to, quote unquote, ’make him have sex with them’.”
Elion chuckled.
The words sounded so strange and formal, instead of dirty, coming from Celeste’s mouth, that he could not help himself.
Every head turned toward him, looking at him strangely.
He immediately cleared his throat, realising what he had done, and raised his hand in apology. “Sorry.”
Celeste gave him a strange look, as if she was unsure whether to be annoyed or embarrassed, then cleared her throat again and continued.
“From their description, they were partially successful. However, Elion quickly took control of the situation.”
She paused.
“He did not proceed further in the intended manner. Instead, he… redirected the encounter.”
Her eyes flicked across the next line.
“For clarity, the three girls described the experience as heavenly. They claimed they had never felt anything better in their lives. And he used nothing but his hands and his tongue to send them to the peak of pleasure.”
The room exploded in subtle, varying reactions.
Igor burst into laughter. “That’s how a man should be!” he declared loudly.
Lysette snorted in disgust. “Men,” she muttered. “All the same.”
Magnus adjusted his monocle awkwardly.
Brunna’s grey eyes slowly moved to Elion. She eyed him up and down, as if seeing him in a new light.
Her gaze was oddly…Hungry? She even licked her lips slightly, wetting them with her saliva.
Elion suddenly felt a cold shiver running down his spine from her gaze. ’She’s trouble.’
Evander’s eyes narrowed faintly. Celeste, however, had stopped reading.
She stared at the page as if she could not believe what she had read. Then she looked up. Her red eyes flickered across the room and locked onto Elion.
He was very obviously avoiding her gaze and pretending to admire the view outside the window.
Everyone else was staring at him with different expressions. Shock. Amusement. Curiosity and Approval from Igor.
Celeste’s jaw tightened.
“Continue,” Evander reminded her calmly.
His voice was smooth, but his gaze had sharpened. He was not looking at the papers. He was looking at her.
’What is that look on her face?’
For just a brief second, something had flashed across her expression. It had not been disgust. It had not been embarrassing.
It had looked dangerously close to jealousy.
Evander’s eyes slowly shifted toward Elion.
The first-year sat there trying very hard to look innocent, though the faint guilt on his face earlier had not escaped anyone’s notice.
’I suddenly feel threatened.’ The thought irritated him. ’He wants to take what’s mine, huh?’
Competition for Celeste’s hand had always been plentiful. She was beautiful, powerful, and in line to become monarch of the Vampire clan. Of course, men would pursue her.
Evander had expected many rivals.
He had never once doubted that.
But this—
This was different.
Elion was not some noble heir backed by a powerful background. He was an orphaned first-year with suspiciously fast growth and an unsettling level of confidence.
And yet…
He had managed to draw Celeste’s attention. That was what bothered him. Evander leaned back slightly in his chair, his fingers tapping lightly against the table.
’Let’s see if you have what it takes.’
Celeste inhaled sharply and calmed herself as she continued reading.
“All three described the experience as heavenly; they had never felt anything so good in their life” she repeated stiffly, “and claimed that after that, Elion did nothing further.”
Her breathing grew slightly heavier, but it was clearly from irritation.
She glanced at Liora.
Liora raised both hands defensively, laughing lightly.
“What?” She gave a small shrug, “That is exactly what they said,” she said in her defence.
Celeste suddenly threw the documents at her.
“Then you read it!”
She went and sat down abruptly in her chair with a hump, clearly exasperated. The room broke into quiet chuckles.
They couldn’t help but think that the cold princess was acting very weird today. Even Cedric’s stern expression wavered slightly.
Of course, they immediately blamed Liora and her overly detailed documentation as the reason for her reactions.
Liora cleared her throat and picked up the papers.
“As mentioned,” she said smoothly, “they described the encounter as heavenly, the best interaction with a man they have ever had.”
’You did not need to repeat that part again.’ Everyone silently agreed.
Evander cleared his throat softly, reminding Celeste to move along and stop lingering on certain details.
Liora laughed awkwardly.
Around the table, people were still occasionally glancing at Elion with strange looks. Elion, for his part, could only sit there and try to maintain a calm, neutral expression.
Liora resumed.
“After bringing them to… the peak of pleasure,” she continued carefully, “Elion left them unconscious and exited without going any further.”
“Wait.”
Igor shot up from his seat again.
“So they all passed out from just his hands and tongue?” he asked loudly. “All three of them!?”
Everyone at the table was an adult. Whether through personal experience or theory, they understood exactly what he was implying.
Igor stared at Elion with something close to reverence. He bowed dramatically.
“Teach me your ways, Master!” he declared.
Several people facepalmed at once.
Elion laughed lightly.
“Sorry, Igor,” he said casually. “I’m not into guys.”
The room burst into laughter.
Lysette closed her eyes tighter in secondhand embarrassment. Magnus lowered his head, shaking slightly. Cael and Cassian both pressed their lips together, clearly struggling.
Even Evander allowed a faint smile. Brunna laughed freely, though her stare intensified.
Cedric looked like he was fighting to maintain his composure. Even Celeste’s lips curved into the faintest smile before she quickly suppressed it.
“No—no! Don’t misunderstand!” Igor flailed his arms dramatically. “I didn’t mean it like that!”
His panicked expression only made things worse. They all laughed out again.
After a moment, the laughter died down.
William and the three girls stood there stiffly, clearly uncomfortable as the mood shifted again.
Liora continued, her tone becoming more serious.
“They regained consciousness later that night and reported to William that they had failed.”
She turned a page. Her eyes shifted coldly toward him as she said the following words.
“At that point, William carried out the act himself and personally assaulted them. He then inflicted injuries to stage the scene and frame Elion.”
The mood shifted instantly.
Brunna’s face darkened.
“You vile beast!” she glared at William.
Now, everyone was staring at him like he was something disgusting. Especially the women at the table.
Lysette’s tail flicked sharply in irritation as she glared at him with clear disgust.
Seraphine’s bored expression had completely vanished, replaced with a cold, flat stare.
If looks could kill, he would already be dead, ten times over. And if they were allowed to act freely, William might not have left the room walking.
Ymir looked like she was about to cry again. While Kaia and Ceryn were pale and trembling.
Whether it was genuine or it was just an act to incite pity and reduce their punishments, Elion could not tell.
He didn’t care either way.
Liora continued calmly.
“The next morning, they confronted Elion publicly and accused him of assault in the presence of Instructor Eveline. She requested to attend this meeting, but we determined that this matter can be handled internally by the committee.”
“So,” she concluded calmly, “that is the gist of it.”
She placed the papers down and walked back to her seat.
Silence fell as William’s expression gradually soured as the seconds ticked by.
