Harem System In A fantasy World - Chapter 210: Weird

Chapter 210: Weird
Liora looked at him quietly for a moment as they walked.
Her eyes lingered on his face longer than usual, almost as if she was trying to read something from his expression.
The look was subtle, but Elion could clearly feel the suspicion behind it.
Then she suddenly stopped walking.
Elion took another step before realizing she had stopped. He turned slightly to look at her.
“What?”
Liora crossed her arms slowly; her pupils shone a bright pink color. Then she asked, her tone suddenly very serious.
“Did you… Or did you not sleep with Celeste Chronos?”
Elion blinked. For a moment, he genuinely looked stunned.
“W-what?”
But inside his head, his thoughts were racing.
’How did she …?’
Before he could react further, the familiar smooth voice of the system echoed quietly in his mind.
[Enthralling spell blocked.]
Elion froze internally for a fraction of a second.
’Oh…’
Now he understood.
Liora had just tried to use magic on him.
Some kind of charm or truth-seeking spell meant to pull the answer out of him.
Fortunately, the system had blocked it.
Outwardly, however, Elion didn’t show the slightest sign that he knew what she had just attempted.
Instead, he simply looked mildly confused.
“No,” he said calmly.
“I did not.”
He had no idea what she was getting at here.
It was honestly strange.
How did he feel about Liora using that kind of ability on him? Not much really. Right now, he would act non the wiser.
However, he couldn’t help but think that what did Celeste’s personal life have to do with Liora for her to feel the need to do something like this?
Liora frowned slightly.
Her gaze drifted away from him as she looked off to the side, clearly thinking.
“…Odd,” she muttered under her breath. Her brows furrowed faintly.
“I swear I heard some weird sounds coming from her room that day… Did I imagine it?”
She looked thoughtful, almost annoyed with herself, as if the pieces of the situation still didn’t quite add up in her mind.
Elion kept his expression neutral as Liora muttered to herself.
But inside his mind, the realization had already clicked.
’So she heard us that day…’
Well.
Things could easily be misinterpreted.
Elion scratched the back of his head lightly, pretending to look confused.
Honestly, he didn’t know whether to feel relieved or disappointed.
Relieved that Liora hadn’t barged into Celeste’s room while they were in the middle of things.
Or disappointed.
Because, if he was being honest with himself… a part of him would always wonder what would have happened if she had walked in.
Maybe she would have been shocked.
Maybe embarrassed.
Or maybe—She would have joined in for a threesome.
’Hehe.’
He shook that thought away.
The bigger issue was something else entirely. Elion glanced sideways at Liora’s beautiful face as she stood there thinking.
Honestly, he didn’t know what to make of her as a person anymore.
Before, he had simply thought of her as sexy, cheerful, friendly, and slightly mysterious. But now that he had access to the love meter, that perception had changed completely.
He knew now that the bright, playful personality she showed to everyone was… at least partly a front.
Her emotions and behavior didn’t always line up.
And that meant something about her wasn’t exactly what it seemed on the surface.
So now, whenever she spoke or acted a certain way, Elion found himself instinctively taking everything she said with a grain of salt.
’What exactly is she…?’
He wondered about that more than once.
Maybe it had something to do with the nature of her magic.
Dream magic dealt with illusions, perception, and the mind itself.
Perhaps living with that kind of power naturally made someone develop layers of personality. Masks within masks.
Or maybe…
That was simply the kind of person Liora Blossom was.
Someone who preferred to keep her real self hidden behind a smile.
“Anyway,” she said casually, “you must be very close to Celeste for her to tell you something like that, about her leaving.”
Elion let out a short, dry laugh.
“I guess you could say that.”
He didn’t confirm anything. But he didn’t deny it either.
Liora’s eyes lingered on him for another second as if she was trying to measure his reaction.
Elion decided to change the topic, hoping that she would let the topic drop.
“Anyway,” he said, “this schedule you mentioned.” He looked at her curiously.”Can I see it?”
Liora blinked once.
“Huh?”
Then she nodded.
“Sure.”
She reached into the pocket of her robe and pulled out something small.
Elion immediately noticed that it was some kind of device he had never seen before.
It looked somewhat similar to the magical display screens used throughout the arena, or the large screens some of the academy staff used, but this one was small and handheld.
Small enough to fit comfortably in one’s hand.
The surface was smooth and dark, almost like polished glass, with thin metallic edges running along the sides. When she held it up, it faintly reflected the daylight.
“What’s that?” Elion asked curiously.
Liora tapped the surface with her finger.
The device suddenly lit up.
A soft glow spread across the screen, and several lines of text appeared on it instantly.
Elion leaned closer.
It looked almost exactly like the arena displays, except much smaller.
The text shifted slightly as Liora swiped her finger across the surface, bringing up what looked like a list of numbers and names.
“You don’t know what this is?” Liora asked in surprise.
Elion shook his head honestly.
“No.”
She stared at him for a moment as if he had just said something completely ridiculous.
“…Seriously?”
Elion shrugged.
“Should I?”
Liora looked at him for another second before sighing.
“It’s a mini mana tablet.”
“I think you have seen some larger ones used by the academy staff to access internal information; this smaller one is used by the student council and other staff.”
She held it up slightly so he could see the screen more clearly.
“I got this from Evander,” she said casually.
The words made Elion’s eyes narrow slightly.
“…Evander?”
“Yes.”
She shrugged lightly as if it were nothing important.
“He had a spare one.”
Elion’s gaze sharpened just a little. That answer didn’t sit quite right with him. Are the two of them supposed to be close?
Elion tilted his head slightly as he studied her.
“Are the two of you close?” he asked casually.
His tone sounded light, but there was a faint edge of curiosity behind it.
Liora blinked. Then she chuckled softly.
“Not really.”
She slipped the tablet back into her robe pocket.
“He just happens to be someone I talk to occasionally.”
Elion watched her quietly for a moment.
That answer was… vague.
But then again, most of Liora’s answers tended to be like that.
Which made it difficult to tell whether she was being honest or simply choosing her words carefully.
She tapped the screen again, and the text shifted.
“Schedules, announcements, match rotations, participant data… things like that.”
Elion raised a brow.
“So basically…”
“A portable version of the arena screens?”
“Exactly.”
She turned the screen slightly toward him.
“This is your match schedule.”
Elion took the mana tablet from Liora and began scrolling through the glowing list with his thumb.
The text shifted smoothly as he moved down the screen, revealing the schedule for the coming days of the tournament.
His brow slowly rose as he read the first year section with his number on it. He had ten battles scheduled in total.
“…Ten?” he muttered.
That in itself wasn’t too strange.
What was strange was how the schedule was arranged.
If he wasn’t fighting today, that meant the rest of the fights had to be spread across the remaining days of the tournament. And judging by the way the matches were listed…
Some days, he would be fighting twice.
And on one day, even three times.
Elion snorted softly.
That was odd.
Almost like someone had intentionally arranged the schedule to wear him down.
The idea would make sense for a normal participant. Fighting multiple matches in one day would drain their mana reserves, tire their body, and make them far easier to defeat in later rounds.
Too bad for them.
Elion had unreal passive regeneration abilities. Even if he fought three times in one day, recovering wouldn’t be a real problem for him.
He kept scrolling.
Then he stopped.
His eyes lingered on one particular line.
Vs Opponent – No. 4
For a moment, Elion stared at it.
Then he almost laughed.
Number four.
That was William.
A wide grin spread across his face.
“Well, well…”
So he could finally knock some teeth out of that guy’s mouth without worrying about getting punished.
That alone made the whole tournament worth it.
He kept scrolling.
Then his expression shifted slightly again.
Two more lines caught his attention.
Both of them were labeled differently.
Opponent – Second Year Participant
Elion snorted loudly.
The sound made Liora glance at him strangely.
“What?” she asked.
Elion shook his head and continued looking at the tablet.
According to the academy’s official records, his strength was estimated to be somewhere around the lower end of the second years.
And even then, most people would expect him to lose a fight against them due to his supposed lack of real combat experience.
Yet here he was.
Scheduled to fight two different second years.
There were no names listed. Just a note that they were second-year participants.
Elion’s eyes narrowed slightly. ’This person should at least try to make their plots less obvious.’
Whoever arranged this schedule clearly wanted to suppress him.
He thought for a moment. Then he came to a simple conclusion.
’This probably has something to do with William.’
Or someone connected to him.
Either way, the intention was obvious.
They wanted to make things difficult for him.
Elion chuckled quietly.
’They’re going to be disappointed.’
He was absolutely going to destroy whoever they threw at him.
And then he would humiliate William publicly. At this point, William wasn’t even an enemy anymore.
He was just an annoying fly buzzing around Elion’s head.
And soon enough…
Elion would simply swat that fly away.
He handed the tablet back to Liora.
“Thanks,” he said.
Liora took it and slipped it back into her robe pocket.
“Sorry for dragging you out here,” she said apologetically. “I just wanted to confirm a few things.”
She gave him a cheery smile.
“Good luck in your fights.”
Then she turned and began walking away down the path.
Elion watched her go. His gaze instinctively drifted lower.
The gentle sway of her hips and the hypnotic jiggle of her lovely, round ass caught his attention as she walked.
A thought suddenly appeared in his mind. ’If I used the Ink of Yearning on her…’
He wondered how Liora would react. The image alone made him smirk. ’That might be interesting.’
He mentally added the idea to his growing list of priorities.
’Remember to try that today.’
With that thought tucked away, Elion turned around and headed back toward the coliseum, disappearing once again into the dim tunnels beneath the arena.
