Harem System In A fantasy World - Chapter 324: About Damn Time

“What they didn’t know was that their friend had never truly died.”
“He was the one meant to receive the true answer.”
Once again, the exact details have long since been lost, but somehow, after receiving that answer… he gained immense power.”
A chill ran through the air.
“And when he returned…”
“He sought vengeance.”
“No matter how much his former companions begged for forgiveness, citing deep regret after killing, he slaughtered every single one of them without mercy.”
Elion quietly listened.
“Afterward, using the power he had obtained, he conquered the countless small communities scattered across the land and united them into what eventually became the Veloria Kingdom.”
Isla smiled faintly.
“And finally… shortly after ascending the throne as the very first king, he ascended once more.”
Elion frowned slightly.
“Ascended?”
“To godhood,” Isla answered softly.
“And on the very day he ascended…”
She slowly pointed toward the night sky.
“Something impossible happened.”
“There had always been only one moon before then.”
“But that night…”
“A second moon appeared.”
Almost immediately after she said that, Elion instinctively looked upward and froze.
There, a second moon slowly materialised high in the heavens. His eyes widened, and he pushed his mask up over his face to get a better look.
The sight was breathtakingly beautiful, but more than that, the moment the second moon fully appeared, Elion suddenly felt his entire body surge with power.
His muscles tightened, and his mana churned violently; his senses sharpened instantly. It felt as though his entire existence had been elevated.
’…What the hell?’
He genuinely felt twice as strong as his usual self. Not only had he never witnessed anything remotely like this in his lifetime, but he had never even heard of such a story before.
Around them, the singing intensified as both moons reached their peak overhead, bathing the entire city in a brilliant glow that easily overwhelmed the reddish glow of the lanterns.
Elion slowly turned toward Isla. She stood there beneath the twin moons with a soft smile on her face as she gazed upward.
Beautiful and peaceful.
Suddenly, without warning, a profound feeling of loss overwhelmed Elion’s chest.
“…Hmm?”
Isla blinked before looking toward him.
“Something the matter?”
“Huh?”
Elion frowned slightly. Why would she ask that?
“You look sad,” she said softly.
Elion’s breath hitched, but she was right, for some reason, he really did feel sad. He immediately forced a small smile.
“It’s nothing.”
He really did feel strangely off. The foreign emotion had appeared from nowhere, yet it felt strangely heavy in his chest.
Still, after forcing himself to calm down, he eventually suppressed the feeling and returned to normal.
“It must be the wind,” he said casually.
Isla smiled lightly.
“I guess… It is getting a little chilly.”
Then she tugged lightly on his arm.
“Come. Do you want to get something to eat?”
Elion nodded.
The two left the plaza shortly afterward and headed toward a famous restaurant known for serving some of Haven’s most popular dishes.
Tempura and grilled salmon harvested from the oceans surrounding the city.
After enjoying a warm and hearty meal together, they spent even more time wandering through the lively streets while chatting casually, arms linked together.
Eventually, they climbed higher up the mountainside overlooking the city.
While standing together near the edge of a cliff, they watched as countless glowing lanterns slowly floated upward into the night sky before gradually vanishing among the stars.
“Beautiful…” Isla whispered softly.
“Elion.”
He suddenly turned toward her.
“Isla.”
Before she could react, he gently pulled her into his embrace. She visibly startled from the sudden closeness.
Elion slowly removed her mask as well and raised a hand, brushing it softly against her cheek.
“You’re beautiful,” he said quietly. “You know that?”
Isla’s face turned bright red instantly, but she didn’t pull away; instead, she simply stared up at him silently.
Elion slowly leaned closer, pursing his lips gently, making his intentions obvious. The sight made Isla’s heart skip a beat.
Yet even then, she had no thoughts of resisting. Slowly, she closed her eyes, and their lips finally met softly beneath the twin moons.
Elion kept the kiss gentle and soft, not pushing too far as he held her close. However, his hands slowly drifted from her waist down toward her backside, grabbing handfuls of each ass cheek and resting there lightly.
“Mmph…”
Isla suddenly stiffened a little in surprise.
A moment later, she softly broke the kiss and looked up at him shyly, her cheeks burning bright red.
“Not today,” she said gently, offering him a small, apologetic smile. Elion immediately understood what she meant; he simply nodded lightly.
“Alright.”
He didn’t press the matter any further, keeping his touch appropriate afterward.
For a few seconds, the two simply stood there quietly beneath the floating lanterns and twin moons, the chilly mountain wind brushing softly against them.
Elion smiled faintly.
“Come,” he said calmly. “Let’s head back.”
Isla nodded softly.
And together, the pair slowly made their way back toward the brightly lit palace overlooking the city below. Elion escorted Isla all the way back to her quarters.
“I’ll see you tomorrow,” he said gently as he let go of her hand near the door.
“Un.”
She nodded softly before slipping inside and quietly closing the door behind her.
Elion stood there for a brief moment before slipping his hands back into his pockets and making his way toward his own room in another wing of the palace.
The halls were far quieter now compared to earlier.
Most people were likely still outside enjoying the festival, while the few servants remaining inside moved about quietly in the background.
Elion had just reached his door and was about to head inside when the sound of hurried footsteps suddenly echoed through the corridor.
Someone was running toward him. He raised a brow and looked back. A moment later, Alexander came jogging into view, holding a folded piece of parchment in his hand.
The prince slowed to a stop before him, slightly out of breath.
“Something the matter?” Elion asked casually.
Without wasting time, Alexander handed him the folded parchment. Elion opened it quickly, scanning the contents.
Then his eyes lit up.
“Your sword and armour are ready.”
A grin immediately spread across Elion’s face.
“About damn time.”
