- Chapter 265 - 265: Court Case PT.1

Kyle walked out the door and, for the first time, could catch his breath because there was nothing wrong with him.
He had everything under control, but there was something he had no idea how to do, and that was getting the women under one roof.
That was his major concern, among everything going on in his life; this was what bothered him, which was rather ironic.
He knew he had to pay Cassandra a visit due to the case she was having tomorrow.
If anything, she needed him now more than ever.
Kyle knew this and was not interested in allowing things to dissipate because Cassandra played a role in his life.
She was mature enough to provide the necessary emotional support he needed to navigate through certain life choices.
Kyle used her to fill the role of a parental figure, as this was a part of him that had been missing for quite some time.
She understood more than anyone what it felt like to be a mother, this was the one thing that was taken away from him.
One thing he couldn’t experience, regardless of how much money he had, was that Cassandra helped his inner child.
Kyle hopped in his car and drove to her, he had every intention of spending the night there because the court case was early in the morning.
There was no way he would make it in time should he return home, so this was the best decision.
He also wanted to talk to her about the house because she had a child to consider, and Kyle knew he was asking a lot of her, but he needed to make sure there were no loose ends on his side that they could use against him.
Kyle didn’t want to drag them into the life he was about to enter, even though he knew it would be inevitable for them not to be associated.
He wanted to at least provide them some level of security, a place where he could protect them or try to.
Kyle arrived there in a couple of minutes, the road was free, and this meant he didn’t run into traffic.
He didn’t inform Cassandra of his visit either because he already knew she must be missing him, but she wasn’t going to be too vocal about it.
She wasn’t like Jane, nor was she like Calista; she was something different.
The fact that Kyle was comfortable enough to speak to her about his past was proof of this.
He didn’t need to worry about her inability to process it, she simply offered a listening ear without attempting to fix it.
This was exactly what he needed; the balance it provided allowed him to explore things he didn’t know he needed to explore.
Kyle pressed the doorbell, but no one answered for a good five minutes, which caught him by surprise.
“Hm…” Kyle thought to himself, he wouldn’t have thought too much about this if it were any other day, but in light of his recent company.
This was something he couldn’t risk because things had gotten a lot more complicated.
Kyle realised at this moment he needed to enter this house, even if it was forcefully, and he picked the lock with little to no difficulty.
A skill he had learned online, he had acquired little tricks here and there to help in his everyday life, and this was one of them.
He gained entry, but there was nothing out of the ordinary here, prompting him to wonder why she wasn’t answering.
However, he got his answer soon enough because she was passed out on the bed.
She must have had a busy day, or at least this was what Kyle thought due to the way she was passed out.
He walked away and headed to her son’s crib. He had no idea why, but he found himself in the room of child.
Kyle stood over the sleeping child and just watched him breathe. He was so peaceful but had no idea how evil this world was.
To think he was once this small and innocent was something Kyle still couldn’t wrap his head around because he had to raise himself.
If anything, Jasmine’s life was a lot more similar to his than this child and that brought him peace.
Why? Because it meant this child wouldn’t grow up under the same circumstances as him.
“Kyle?” A voice called out behind, forcing him to turn.
“Cassandra? When did you wake up?” Kyle asked because a doorbell couldn’t wake her, so what could? Kyle wondered.
“The baby motion monitor,” Cassandra said, and Kyle realised her body was conditioned to subconsciously react to the sound of the baby monitor.
“I see, I was surprised you slept when I rang the doorbell,” Kyle pointed out.
“Damn it! I forgot to get it fixed!” Cassandra cursed under her breath, and this revelation made a lot more sense.
“Ah! That makes sense! I was worried for a second there,” Kyle blurted out.
“You were worried? I’m flattered, but I don’t think there is any need to worry. I can take care of myself,” Cassandra tried her best to stand tall.
Kyle looked at her, but not a word left his lips because what would be the point?
He did enter her home unattended, and this would be grounds for calling the authorities on a normal day.
The thing on his mind was the court case, he knew this would be the key to maxing out her affection bar.
Calista responded to money, Jane responded to affection, and Cassandra responded to financial security or masculinity.
These were the different things the women in his harem responded to, and Kyle knew he needed to meet their needs to make it come to pass.
“Come here,” Kyle called before wrapping his hands around her waist, grabbing her love handles and drawing her in.
“Did you miss me?” Kyle questioned, and Cassandra smiled sheepishly. She never thought something like this could happen on the first day they met.
If anything, she expected her child to spook him, but Kyle was showing in the life she had built for herself, which already put him above 80% of men, because who would want to deal with another man’s child?
She didn’t respond to Kyle verbally, but the kiss they shared showed him just how much she did.
