The morning broke and Kyle woke up to the smell of smoke, he jumped out of bed and instantly rushed to the kitchen.

Kyle was expecting the worst because he had no idea what the source of this smoke was.

But he entered the kitchen and to his utmost disappointment, all he saw was Ella struggling to make a meal.

“What are you doing?” Kyle asked but Ella was too busy trying to put out the fire that had stirred up in the pot. She was here less than 24 hours and already attempted to burn down his house.

All he heard was banging and tossing, Kyle knew if he left her to it, it was only a matter of time before she burned the place to the ground.

“Ella… Stay out of my kitchen,” Kyle told her flatly, he sounded disappointed because it was too early in the morning for any of this.

The fact he didn’t get enough sleep only made all of this all the more irritating because he was already overstimulated.

Ella managed to put out the fire but the shirt she had on was a casualty because it was not only partially burnt but the burn marks ruined it further.

Kyle just stared at her and sighed, she was the opposite of Jane and Kyle began to understand why Jane was so worried about her.

“How are you alive?” Kyle blurted out and Ella was surprised such words left his mouth.

She was a rich kid but she rebelled without learning the one thing meant to nourish herself.

But it made her development all the more impressive however Kyle wasn’t about to lose his cool over this.

“Um… Why aren’t you dead?” Ella fired back and there was an awkward silence shortly after.

“Touche,” This was the word that escaped Kyle’s lips.

Calista was living the life, and for some reason, her newfound fame opened up opportunities for her as her acting career soared through the roof.

This meant smaller celebrities began to reach out to her which warmed her heart because she was now attracting the kind of friends who she could benefit from.

This was the first step however she wasn’t lacking.

It was the next day and she was getting a little worried that Kyle hadn’t gotten back to her.

This was a first but Calista couldn’t help it.

She was worried out of her mind because she knew this was something out of her control.

She was used to control and felt her influence slipping away.

She was no longer a part of his daily routine and this was proof of that.

Kyle found a way to hurt her ego each time she thought she was something special.

There was no way he could be so busy that he didn’t check his phone for 24 hours.

Calista knew she couldn’t lose him because he was the reason for all of this.

Calista couldn’t see it but there was a shift in her.

She wondered if Jane was the reason and thought for a second about texting Ella.

However, this would anger Kyle or at least, this is what she thought.

Calista thought about a hundred ways to change the current situation but Kyle came out on top in each which only frustrated her further.

She had to push all negative thoughts out of her head as the world was about to become her stage. She had to be ready to play the part when the opportunity presented itself.

Then, it would be easy to attract an even higher calibre of men.

Calista was still mistaking Kyle’s influence over her as something as simple as a mutual attraction.

It was yet to dawn on her that she was head over heels and no longer had control of the situation.

She got on the phone with Lorenzo and they spoke for a bit.

They had gotten closer over the past couple of days because Lorenzo was easy on the eyes.

Calista had to go shopping for new clothes because she had to get ready for a party.

This was not just any party but the gathering of some of the more prominent names in the industry.

Calista couldn’t miss this for anything because it could be the single thing that changed her life for the better.

Kyle provided her the platform to stand on but it was up to her to decide if she was going to rise or fall.

She couldn’t rely on Kyle and knew things could come crashing down at any moment but when it did, she would have built herself a raft.

Calista was going with Lorenzo as her plus one even though she wanted to have Kyle by her side.

Calista had to face reality, he wasn’t her man and didn’t belong to just her.

Lorenzo had picked out an outfit on the pricey side but Calista was surprised he was able to afford it.

He didn’t give off that impression but it was a welcomed surprise because it meant she didn’t have to cover his bills.

Calista was going to pick him up because the car she drove would fit a lot better but it would also show she was the one in control of whatever relationship she had with Lorenzo.

Everything she did was calculated and thought out, and by showing she had Lorenzo on a leash. This would indirectly draw attention from others.

She had to make a strong entrance and Lorenzo was key to that but in the middle of her thought process.

A call interrupted her, drawing her back to the present as she looked at her phone.

She thought the butterflies in her stomach had been killed by the acid within but it came to life the moment she saw the call was from Kyle.

She knew playing the ignoring game wouldn’t work on someone like him but either way, this was a call she had to answer and she did just that.
