Chapter 129: The Power of The Upper Realm-First Half
The crowd consisted of the Sky-Severing Demon Valley sword division. They quickly rushed toward the Azure Sky Elder to recapture him, but…
Boooomm!
With a single wave of his hand, a simple yet highly concentrated burst of qi shot out in a cone shape. The qi blast tore through all of the sword division members. Neither their bodies, swords, nor soft armor could withstand the power.
It was too easy, too fragile, like an adult twisting an infant’s arm. All of them were blasted apart and exploded. Blood and gore rained down onto the ground like useless rags.
Wei Chen was stunned by the sight. All of them were reduced to pieces, organs, and severed limbs. Some did not even have bodies left and were outright disintegrated because they had been too close to the blast zone.
Their swords were broken and splintered into countless shards, no different from the remains of their owners.
“What? You…” Wei Chen uttered in disbelief. Wasn’t this guy only at the Nascent Soul realm? These sword division members were at least at the Core Formation realm, and together with their battle formation, they should have been able to fight someone one realm above them.
At this moment, Mo Jue, Jian Heng, and Hua Zuixian rushed to the scene and saw Gu Tianhe, the Azure Sky Elder, floating above the pieces and gore that had once been Mo Jue’s people.
Seeing this, Mo Jue was enraged. He rushed straight toward Gu Tianhe. He did not shout or cry out in anger. He simply went straight for Gu Tianhe’s body, aiming to cut him in half.
Clank!
The sound of a blade colliding with metal resounded throughout the ruin. The strike Mo Jue unleashed with fifty percent of his power was easily blocked by a single finger.
“What… impossible!”
Mo Jue exclaimed in disbelief, but before he could react, a simple palm strike came toward him. The strike was extremely fast, and he did not have enough time to dodge it. He quickly raised his sword to block.
Boom! Clank!
With a thunderous sound, the palm strike crushed through the blade and struck his chest, sending Mo Jue crashing into the ruin wall. His body fell to the ground with a heavy thud, and he spat out a mouthful of blood.
The palm strike injured his heart and lungs, making it difficult for him to breathe and to channel his spiritual qi to alleviate his injuries.
“Father in law!” Wei Chen rushed over to check on Mo Jue and saw that he had been gravely injured by a single palm strike.
“This… this one is clearly not… cough, cough!” Mo Jue coughed up blood before forcing himself to calm down. “The owner of this body is clearly not Gu Tianhe. I think he must be an ancestor of Gu Tianhe from the upper realm.”
“What?” Wei Chen was stunned and then looked at Gu Tianhe with caution.
If this was true, then they could not win against him at all. What should he do? Should he run? Yes, he alone could run away. Even if this guy was many times faster than lower realm cultivators, his Shadowless Reaper Step could guarantee his survival, but…
Wei Chen thought of Mo Xingyao and Dream Butterfly. They were the two women lingering in his mind.
No! He could not. This blasted f*cker was an upper realm cultivator, someone many times stronger than lower realm cultivators. As one of the few people who could stall this guy, if he ran away, this monster might turn into a murderer and a sex maniac, just like many cultivators who believed they were beyond consequences.
Huh? Consequences?
Wei Chen paused in his thoughts as an idea struck him.
That’s right. Consequences. He refused to believe that this bastard could remain in the lower realm without consequences.
It was common knowledge that cultivators who reached the Great Ascension Realm would be forced to ascend to the upper realm by the laws of heaven and earth.
There were some exceptions to this rule, of course, but all of them had to pay different kinds of prices. Either they spent enormous resources to conceal themselves from the laws of heaven and earth and avoided actions that would alarm those laws, such as using too much power, or they stayed within sealed areas and could not come out except in emergencies.
If they dared to use too much power, the laws of heaven and earth would detect them and force them to ascend to the upper realm, thus depriving their clan of an ultimate protector.
So, in light of this, Wei Chen needed to find out why this upper realm bastard could manifest power in the lower realm, how he was exploiting the system, and how to correct it.
“Vice Sect Leader Jian, Mr. Hua, can you stall this guy for a few minutes? I need to prepare something. I might be able to force this bastard back to the upper realm,” Wei Chen said.
“What did you say?” Hua Zuixian asked.
Jian Heng glanced at Wei Chen and spoke.
“How are you going to do it? The sect master of the Heavenly Sword Sect resides in the upper realm. I know quite a few methods for upper realm denizens to manifest their power in the lower realm or descend here themselves. I do not think the Gu clan ancestor’s method would be easy for us to exploit.”
“I have my own way,” Wei Chen said. He then retreated a few meters and began connecting his mind to the broadcasting orb, closing his eyes. He was trying to contact Youqi. “Please, help me stall him for a few minutes.”
Jian Heng and Hua Zuixian were reluctant, but Mo Jue smirked, popped a pill into his mouth, and stood up.
“It’s just a few minutes. Let’s give him that. Besides, I think my newest technique might pose a threat to that bastard,” Mo Jue said as he produced a new sword from his storage ring.
“Three minutes, yes…” Hua Zuixian started. “We’ll give him three minutes, or die trying!” Jian Heng finished the sentence before brandishing his sword and rushing toward the Gu clan ancestor.
