How to Bring Common Sense to Xianxia World - Chapter 145: Little Trouble Maker

Chapter 145: Little Trouble Maker
Wei Chen had an ominous feeling. Was it okay for him to report to this little troublemaker?
“Are you sure?” Wei Chen asked. His mind sent a command to the broadcasting orb to record this.
The child was stunned. “What do you mean?”
“I mean… are you sure your mommy will not spank your butt if she knows about this? Like last time, when you meddled with your dad’s redeeming point shop system?”
The question made the child’s face pale. She gulped. Of course this little troublemaker had done it again.
The child faltered, but the moment she saw the knowing look from Wei Chen, her face turned resolute and she doubled down on the act.
“Of… of course! I have authority! You know!” the child spoke with fake bravado.
“Uh-huh…” Wei Chen nodded a few times. “Call your Fourth Mama here. I have an important report to give her.” He was having none of it and cut straight to the point.
“I… I said Fourth Mama is very busy! Whatever you want to report, you can give it to me, and I’ll give it to her!” The child’s act was beginning to crack, but she kept at it.
Wei Chen looked at the child’s face for a moment. The pouting and teary look of the child made his heart waver. What if the girl was telling the truth and he did not believe her?
In the past, when he was a child and told his parents that he was not the one who started the brawl when he punched his bully back, no one believed him. At that time, he was deeply hurt.
Back then, it taught him that people did not care about the truth. They cared about who was more believable and who had more influence.
“Fine…” he finally relented and let out a sigh. “But if you’re lying, don’t say I didn’t help you when your mom comes to spank your butt,” Wei Chen warned.
Then he took out a report he had prepared and added a section about the latest location his dog Max had tracked. He was now in a canyon within the western desert of Azure River Province. He marked it on a map and attached it alongside the report. He asked for support from the underworld to help him scour the desert and find the lair of the so-called Life Devouring Hall assassin sect.
He sent it through the broadcasting orb, and it manifested in front of the child.
The child opened it, reading it and nodding along with “huh huh” and “umm,” imitating the seriousness of her Fourth Mama when she read reports.
“I understand! I’ll send this report to Fourth Mama when she’s free!” the child said with a wide smile and placed the report on the table.
She continued, “As a princess of the underworld, I am obliged to… to… take care of my papa’s subordinate! I’ll go to your side to give you support in this endeavor!” The child widened her smile as if she had finally gotten what she wanted.
“Huh?” Wei Chen paused. “What did you just say?”
“I said! I’ll go to the mortal realm to eat… I mean… to inspect your work and take care of you! Agent, be proud!” With that said, she walked out of view.
“Wait! Wait… hey! Don’t come!” Wei Chen shouted through the channel, but there was no response. “Heeyyyyyyy!” With that last shout, the connection was automatically cut as no one remained on the other side.
“Ugh… what a hassle,” Wei Chen muttered before sending his thoughts to the broadcasting orb to stop recording. At least with this, he would not be thrown under the bus if that little troublemaker tried to blame him.
Wei Chen scratched his forehead. What now? Did he need to wait for that little troublemaker to come here?
Thinking about it, he absolutely needed to wait. That little troublemaker was his boss’s daughter. If he decided to search for the people from the Life Devouring Hall alone, and the girl arrived but did not see him, and something happened to her,
it would be his head that paid the price.
He had no choice but to wait.
— Meanwhile – Underworld —
Little troublemaker Ningning giggled to herself as she ran toward the portal of the Lord of Death Palace. This portal was built specifically to serve the people of the Lord of Death Palace, and guards patrolled it twenty-four hours a day.
She did not lie to Wei Chen. Her Fourth Mama was busy, and she had already placed the report on her Fourth Mama’s desk. She was very diligent, so Fourth Mama would surely notice it.
She just needed to go to the mortal world for a little while, ask Wei Chen for a large tray of pizza, and come back before her Fourth Mama came out of the meeting room.
She knew her Fourth Mama well. She would spend hours in that boring meeting room, so she was confident she would return before her Fourth Mama realized she was missing.
Little Ningning skipped joyfully toward the portal before encountering the patrol guards. They were patrolling around the portal area. Seeing them, she took out an artifact she had taken from her papa’s wardrobe.
It was an invisibility robe. Once she wore it, she would vanish without a trace.
Little Ningning adjusted the oversized cloth and tied the loose parts around her body before slowly running toward the portal.
The guards did not even notice her. They were simply patrolling and doing their duty, unaware that Little Ningning had slipped through their surveillance.
But this could not be blamed on them. This was the first time Little Ningning had done this. They had never even imagined that their princess would sneak out of the palace like this. What could possibly interest her in the mortal realm?
Little Ningning stood on the portal platform. She fumbled with the control panel, used Wei Chen’s spiritual signature to locate him, and commanded the portal to transport her near this agent.
With a flash of light, Little Ningning vanished from the portal.
…
In the mortal realm, Wei Chen waited inside the tent, wondering how that little troublemaker would appear and where she would show up. He was sitting lazily at the desk, his two legs resting on it as he leaned back in his chair, balancing it carefully without letting it fall.
He periodically released his spiritual sense to check the surroundings, just in case she appeared outside the tent.
At that moment, he noticed a blinding light appear inside the tent, just above his head.
“Huh?” Wei Chen squinted his eyes as the light struck them. In the next moment, something soft and squishy hit his face.
“Arrrrghhhhh!” A familiar voice screamed as she jumped off his face, using it as a springboard. A small shoe stomped on his nose before she leaped away.
Wei Chen’s posture had already been unstable, and his chair immediately fell backward along with him the moment he received the kick.
“Aw!” He landed on the ground, clutching his nose. It was not very painful, but it still stung. The little foot had hit him with the same force as a kick from a Nascent Soul cultivator.
Wei Chen slowly got up from the ground and saw the adorable girl he knew. It was his boss’s daughter. She was pouting at him while clutching her butt. It seemed that the soft sensation on his face had been her butt landing on him.
“Woof woof!” Max barked at the stranger who had suddenly appeared in the tent. He quickly moved to protect his half-eaten weisswurst as if guarding his own child.
“Ah! Doggy!” The child immediately jumped toward the large dog.
Seeing this, Wei Chen quickly shook his head, signaling Max not to hurt her. Max obediently followed the instruction.
The little troublemaker then clung to the dog’s neck, swinging happily as she giggled and tried to climb onto his back.
After a few attempts, she finally managed to ride Max. She sat proudly on him with a bright smile, as if she had just conquered a great beast.
“Okay, kiddo, why are you here?” Wei Chen got straight to the point after finally standing up and adjusting his clothes. He now sat on the desk, looking at the little troublemaker.
“I’m here to inspect your work and take care of you!” the little troublemaker said proudly.
Wei Chen stared at her, unimpressed. “You mean I don’t need to make anything for you to eat?”
Hearing this, the little troublemaker faltered for a moment, but she quickly regained her composure.
“Offer me a freshly made pizza! That will be enough as an offering for me!” the child declared with renewed confidence.
“Ugh…” Wei Chen groaned, scratching his head. “Fine. Follow me to the flying ark.”
The tent did not have a kitchen, so he needed to bring his little troublemaker to the flying ark.
He just hoped that his boss would not be pissed at him if this little troublemaker ate too much pizza and gained some weight or forgot to brush her teeth.
— A few hours later – Underworld —
Unknown to little Ningning, back at the palace, her fourth mama had just stepped out of the meeting room along with many officials. They had come to report an urgent matter regarding the death cheater they had captured. It seemed that an upheaval was about to happen in the mortal world.
She checked the time and realized it was already dinner time. Little Ningning must have been hungry.
She had promised her second and third sisters that they would have dinner together with little Ningning at the lord’s residence to give her warmth.
But when she returned to the little courtyard, she found many guards frantically searching for something. Their faces were pale and filled with panic, as if the world were about to end.
“What happened?” she asked.
One of the guards noticed her and quickly reported.
“Report to Fourth Madam! The princess… the princess has been kidnapped!”
“What!?”
