Chapter 211 A family broken
ANTHONY’S POV
“Uncle?” I asked in horror, staring at the man. His face was kind of similar to my Dad’s, but his hair and eyes were different.
I think his name was Uncle Kol—something I last saw him over a year ago,
We didn’t see him very often. And I only said ‘hello’ a few times.
“Ah so you remember me?” he asked me. “When was the last time you saw me? At your father’s birthday party?”
I slowly nodded my head.
The servant then came away from Marco and I looked at him and saw his eye color had changed. They were the same brown gold color as uncle’s. Tears were coming out of his eyes for sone reason and he wiped them away.
“That’s much better,” my uncle complimented Marcos eyes.
My eyes widened in shock as I stared at Marco as well. Marco looked down at the floor in embarrassment he didn’t say anything.
He had also called Uncle, ‘Dad’ just now.
“What’s wrong Anthony?” he asked me. “You look as if you’ve seen a ghost.”
Was Marco my cousin? I tried to process this revelation.
“Sit down, boys,” he then said to us.
Marco signaled for me to follow Uncle’s order. I followed Marco’s lead and we sat next to each other at the table,
“Are you two boys getting along so far?” he asked us as the servants came with good and okacec it on the table before us,
“Yes,” Marco replied as he and Uncle began to eat.
“I expected it since you two were already familiar with one another.
He knew about us being friends at school?
“Are you the one who attacked my mum?” I then burst out asking him.
He then laughed. “And if I am?”
“Where is she? You hurt her!”
I suddenly felt a nudge in my ribs. I glanced at Marco who was shaking his gead telling me not to speak.
“She’s fine and she’s with your father right now,” my uncle told me as he ate.
“Why did you attack us?” I asked him.
“Because I wanted to take you,” he answered casually,” he said.
“Will I be able to go home?” I followed up.
“That all depends on your father and whether he cooperates,” he told me.
“Cooperates with what? ” I then asked even more confused.
“I suggest you eat Anthony because there won’t be a second dinner after this and you will go to bed hungry,” he told me.
I looked down at the food. Roast beef, potatoes and some asparagus.
“It’s not poisoned,” he told me. “I need you alive.”
“My mum is probably looking for me right now! She’s going to stop you!” I snapped at him.
I felt Marco flinch beside me.
My uncle then paused and a dark look appeared on his face I felt the hairs on my body stand.
“Anthony I’m going to tell you this once and once only,” he started in a calm but terrifying voice. “If you want to have a pleasant experience whilst in the house, being quiet is your best friend. You speak when spoken to and you don’t talk back to me, understand?”
My hands
My head slowly nodded.
“Use your words…” he spat out through gritted teeth.
“Yes, Uncle,” I said out loud.
“Now eat your goddam food before I give you a punishment you won’t like!”
A shiver went down my spine and my legs wanted me to run away from there.
I slowly picked up the fork with my hands still shaking and started eating.
“Good boy,” he said to me.
The rest of dinner was quiet as we ate. I was forcing myself to eat but I wasn’t hungry I just wanted to go home to mum an Louis.
When Uncle finished eating he left first. Marco and I continued eating in silence. We were then prepared for bed by a maid and then went to our room.
“I’m sorry I didn’t tell you sooner,” Marco told me in a whisper as we stood in the middle of our room with his head down. “I didn’t know how to tell you.”
As I looked into his gold eyes. Now I knew why he was acting strange all day.
So you were pretending this whole time that you were my dad’s son?” I asked him.
“My dad told me to lie about it to my mother. He had put dye in my hair and made me wear the blue contacts,” he told me. “I’m sorry if I made you angry.”
“I wasn’t angry just surprised,” I told him. Uncle was terrifying so I understood why he listened to him. It’s just this whole time I thought my father chose Marco because he was the perfect son who looked exactly like him. But it was all a lie this whole time… I didn’t know how to feel.
My eyes then met Marco that were looking in mine. Like he was waiting for me to say something.
“Does your Dad hit you too?” I then asked Marco as I continued to whisper scared the guards outside our room could hear us. He was really terrified of his father so I wondered if he beat him up like his mother did.
Marco shook his head. “No,” he whispered back. “But I’ve seen him do scary things to people…”
“Scary things?” I repeated.
Marco nodded.
I thought about it for a moment. He had attacked my mother, beaten her up and kidnapped me. I believed Marco. His Dad did do scary things.
“I think he did something scary to my mother,” Marco told me.
My eyes widened remembering he said his mother hadn’t returned after leaving the mansion. What had Uncle done?
“Anyway, my dads really terrifying so dont do anything like yelling or shouting at him again. He doesn’t hit me but his punishments are horrible,” he said to me.
There was then a sharp knock at the door.
“Quiet in there it’s bedtime!” one of the bodyguards outside yelled.
