Chapter 243: Megan’s help
But now I wanted things to continue with him. I really do I love him. My heart was pounding in my chest.
“Argh!” I screamed into the pillow in frustration. I felt embarrassed for telling Leigh-Anne to tell Louis I loved him. Who tells their romantic rival that? Obviously she’s not going to tell him that. She doesn’t know who I am, she might think I’m some random weirdo trying to contact Louis.
I then slapped my cheeks. Though Louis was young, he was always transparent about his feelings with me.
He told me he loved me. I knew he wasn’t lying to me. I trusted him. I grabbed Tony’s giraffe that was on my bed and hugged it. I had to figure this out. Getting Keith to lower his guard, finding Tony, and contacting Louis.
I would hear from Louis himself how he felt about me.

LOUIS’ POV
I left the chaotic family dinner wondering what the hell had just happened. Apparently, I was going to be working at Carrington HQ. I couldn’t believe it, but I was looking forward to it. On the way home to my apartment, I kept thinking of my father’s announcement and the advice my sister had given me.
I had also spoken to Angela about the situation with Jasmine before I left my parents’ estate.
The following day, I received a response from Megan, Jasmine’s friend, after the message I had sent her 2 days ago. I told her that I was Jasmine’s boyfriend and I was looking for her. I simply asked her if she had been in contact with Jasmine or was able to contact her. I didn’t disclose that I was the CEO of the Garden House, though I told her my first name, but not my last name. I thought that was unnecessary.
I opened her message, and it read, ’No, I haven’t been in contact with Jasmine for a while. The last time I saw her was at the restaurant about 3 weeks back for her routine check on the restaurant. After your message, I sent her a text, but got no response. I also tried to call her a few times, but the call immediately failed to go through each time. Is Jasmine okay?
My lips pressed into a thin line after reading it. If Megan is unable to get through to Jasmine, then it means that Keith was keeping her phone away from her. I was hoping he was shutting me out, but he was keeping everyone out. He was isolating her.
I contemplated how to respond to Megan now who was asking if Jasmine was alright. I recalled the advice my sister had given me.
I don’t know if it was right to share Jasmine’s personal information with Megan, but they were friends, and they worked together. I’m sure Jasmine had mentioned this to her.
’Are you aware that Jasmine was in the middle of a divorce?” I texted in response.
’After ten minutes, I got a response. ’Yes.’ She replied.
’Okay, her husband is…” I briefly explained Jasmine’s situation to her. I didn’t go into too many details about Tony being missing and stuff, just that her ex-husband was fighting against the divorce and keeping her.
’Oh my god,’ Megan then replied. She then called me soon after. I picked the call.
“Is she okay? Is her husband doing something to her?” Her voice burst out in worry.
’She’s physically fine, but she can’t contact us, and legally, there is not much we can do,” I explained. “Look, I’m working something out, but I just wanted to ask you to be available in case she contacts you. If she contacts you in the future, do not mention what I have told you to her. Speak to her normally…” I explained.
My sister had explained that contacting someone whilst they’re in a volatile situation like the one Jasmine was in with Keith had to be done with care. Megan had a higher chance of being contacted by Jasmine if she obtained her phone from Keith.
“…However, tell me if she contacts you and I’ll tell you what to do next, okay?” I instructed her.
“Of course, I’m happy to help. Jasmine saved me from Gatwick. I owe her big time,” she said.
“Thank you, Megan,” I told her.
Once I was done talking to Megan, I then looked for Jasmine’s brother, Lawrence Towers’ contact information, to see if he could help. Keith may have a conservatorship over Jasmine, but Lawrence was her biological family; perhaps he could help out. I knew he and Jasmine didn’t have a close relationship, which is why I didn’t contact him before, but after realizing Jasmine was being completely shut out, I had no choice.
It was around midday when I made the call to Lawrence from my home office. He picked up the call after a few rings.
“Hello?” he answered.
“Mr. Towers, hello? It’s me, Louis Carrington. I have been working with your sister,” I explained as I paced around the office.
“Ah, yes,” Mr. Carrington,” he answered slowly. “How can I help you?”
“I’m sure you’ve heard what’s happening with your sister and Chairman Acland.
“Yes..”
“Well, I can’t get through to her. I was hoping you could help and try to contact her.”
There was a pause.
“Respectfully, Mr. Carrington. I don’t want to involve myself in the situation,” he told me. “I did my part helping her get my father’s lawyers to help her with her divorce.”
“She’s your sister, and she’s being isolated from everyone by the Chairman,” I told him.
“He is still legally her husband, their son is missing whom they are looking for. Who am I to intervene?” he asked.
My jaw tightened at the lack of interest in pursuin this further.

The following day, I got up early and prepared to go to the Carrington HQ. My father had told me to be early.

I was first to walk through the doorway and found Jasmine seated at the desk. The telephone to her ear.
