Chapter 258: Blood mess
CURRENTLY EDITING
His dark brown eyes narrowed as he glared at me. He still wasn’t giving in. “I want to speak with my lawyer if you are accusing me of being a thief. I want to defend myself,” he cockily demanded.
“You are refusing to speak any further?” I said. “That’s fine. I’ve already alerted the police, and I have multiple men already investigating you as we speak. If you refuse to talk, I’ll find out the truth in due time,” I told him coldly. “And I swear, Edward, if I find out that you are in any way related to what happened to my son and any other evidence, you’re going to regret not talking now. You are on leave from your role starting today.”
I then signalled to my bodyguards, who stood beside him. They escorted Edward to the seating area and watched him as I waited for my men on dispatch to his house with the police.
My gaze shifted to Jasmine, who was eyeing Edward she nervously biting her lip. I imagine she was worried about Anthony. I hoped that within a few hours we would get an update on that.
I organized an immediate shutdown of all activities on the top floor as I planned to have all of Edwards’ work investigated. I had a separate group of my men searching his office.
Within the next hour, I received an update on Edwards on what my men and the police had found at Edwards’ house.
I talked to my bodyguard who who talked to Jasmine and me. “We searched his home, sir,” he said. “We have found several documents belonging to the Acland group and have found anomalous activities in his accounts; however, we did not find Master Anthony.”
I clicked my Tongue.
“Oh my god,” Jasmine said. “It really is him.”
“Continue searching his home and investigating him. I want all updates as soon as possible.
“Yes, sir,” he said and walked away.
Jasmine and I went to Edward, who was waiting in the seating area with the guards.
It took everything in me not to just punch. His nonchalant attitude was pissing me off.
“The police are searching your home as we speak. They have already found damining evidence tying you to the stolen funds of the company,” I informed him.
“As I said, I’ll speak with my lawyers,” he said. i was growing impatient with him.
“Call off your ransom and return my son, Edward. You’re not getting my company, so give it up now!” I threatened him. There was more than enough evidence to suggest he was the perpetrator.
He looked up at me but said nothing. Still refusing to speak.
“Edward, where is my son?” Jasmine demanded him as she became emotional. “Please, he has nothing to do with this, so just leave. We’ve already caught you, so let him go!”
She was too close to him, I thought to myself. “Jasmine,” I started.
Then, with an unpredictable quickness, Edward suddenly lunged toward Jasmine and grabbed her. Jasmine yelled out in shock. My bodyguards tried to stop him, but then immediately held back as Edward threatened to do something.
His arm was already around her shoulders, and he pressed her tightly to him. As if using her as a shield. To her neck, I saw him pointing something small but sharp. My eyes narrowed as I focused on it. It was a Parker pen with the sharp pointed edge directed at Jasmine’s throat.
The bodyguards who were beside him watched warily, not wanting Jasmine harmed. My eyes widened in horror as I feared Jasmine would be harmed.
“Jasmine!” I gasped out.
“Anyone move, and I’ll poke a hole through her throat,” he threatened as he pressed the parker tightly to her neck.
So he finally decided to show his true self now?
My hands formed into fists, and a heat coursed through my veins. My mind focused on how I could save Jasmine and prevent him from hurting her in the process.
It wasn’t even 30 seconds before Jasmine suddenly stepped on Edward’s foot. “Ah!” he yelled out, and Jasmine used her elbow to punch him in the gut. before giving him a right upper cut. Edwards’ head rocked to the side from the punch.
My bodyguards instantly grabbed him again and held onto him. My mouth widened in surprise as I looked at Jasmine as she walked away, grabbing her neck.
“Jamsine, are you okay?” I asked as I rushed to her and grabbed her.
“I’m fine,” she commented. However, her shoulder and collarbone were turning red from where he had forcefully grabbed her. My jaw tensed at the sight.
I recalled that Jasmine had been boxing while with the Carrington boy. She knew self-defence.
My gaze then went back to Edward, and it darkened. My body instinctively moved toward him, and my fist connected with his jaw. My bodyguards let him go, and Edward fell to the floor from the force of my punch.
I knelt so I was level with him and grabbed him by his collar. I began punching him repeatedly while he was on the floor. How dare he touch her!
Edward tried to scream out at first, but with my persistent punches, nothing would come out. I kept going and going.
“Okay, I think that’s enough,” I heard a voice say in the background.
I was so irritated by his demeanour this whole time, and then he had the nerve to try and threaten me with Jasmine!
“Keith, calm down!” Jasmine’s voice yelled out at me.
My hand then suddenly stopped and remained suspended in the air as I looked at the bloody mess of a face that was Edwards. His eyes were closed, and his body lay still, having long passed out during my assault. His chest was still rising and falling, so unfortunately, he was still alive.
Jasmine then came beside and pushed me away from Edward.
“Keith, we need him to talk, and he can only do that if he’s conscious.” She told me. My lips pressed together, and I didn’t answer.
She was right. I had gone too far. But I knew he wasn’t going to talk anyway.
