Chapter 259: Cassidy Etna
JASMINE’S POV
“Keith, we need him to talk, and he can only do that if he’s conscious,” I told him to get off.
I looked down at the bloody mess, which was Edward on the floor in horror, as I pushed Keith away from Edward. Keith then stood up, his eyes meeting mine.
I stared at Keith as his eyes went from my eyes to scan my body. In particular, he was fixated on my collarbone and shoulders. I noticed he looked at my collarbone before he attacked Edward earlier as well.
Edward only held for about a minute, and I saved myself, so why was he that pressed?
“Keith, I’m fine,” I reiterated in a gentle voice, but I was annoyed in reality.
In his eyes, I saw pure rage, and I felt a little unsettled. Keith was beyond volatile. I wish I could say it was just because he was tired since we had both been hardly sleeping lately or something.
The scenario reminded me of the time he fought with Louis at the Boxing gym. He had also continued beating down on Louis until I forced him off.
I never knew Keith to be a particularly angry or violent person these past 9 years. This was a completely new Keith to me. Obsessive, angry, violent. One I couldn’t quite predict his next actions. Even the part of him that was kind and loving with me. The Keith I knew never saw me romantically. The only part of him that remained that I could recall was his self-righteousness and controlling-ness, I guess.
Perhaps he was always like this, but was never in a situation for that to come out. I suppose everything had been pretty much smooth sailing before then.
The bodyguards then picked Edward up from the floor.
“The entire floor is on lockdown. Take him to a nearby empty office and have him watched from there,” Keith ordered the bodyguards. “Have the nurse attend to him. As soon as he wakes up, tell me so I can reinterrogate him.”
I watched with concern as the two bodyguards carried him off. I certainly hoped Edward would wake up.
Another one of the bodyguards brought Keith some wet wipes and he wiped the blood off his hands. My eyes looked at them in concern.
“Sorry, you had to see that,” he told me.
“Just don’t scare me like that,” I told him I was more concerned about if we were going to get out of Edward since he was unconscious.
“I want his phone searched,” Keith said.
The bodyguards took out Edwards’ phone from his trouser pocket. Using Edwards’ finger, they unlocked it
Keith immediately began to go through it. “See if I can find any suspicious texts, messages, or anything that might be related to Tony,” he said.
We then went to Edward’s office to see what evidence the men searching it had found. Upon entering, we found a small group of bodyguards going through his office and sorting through documents.
“Not much, sir,” the first aide said. “Most of the documents are normal work documents.”
He must have kept his office clear of any incriminating evidence. I thought to myself.
“Keep searching in case you do find anything,” Keith ordered them.
“Also, the police are on their way,” he added.
“Good,” Keith replied. “Have them help to watch Edward until he wakes up.”
He then gave Edwards’ phone to one of the aides. I want this phone properly searched. Find any incriminating messages about Anthony and the
Suddenly, Keith’s phone rang, and he walked away from us for a moment as he answered. I watched him and my mind.
He ended the call and then turned back to me.
“We’re going to Edward’s house,” Keith informed me. “They have found some incriminating evidence about him there.”
“Tony?” I asked, noting how he hadn’t mentioned him.
“No, not yet,” Keith answered in a sad tone.
I nodded my head in understanding. Within the next 10 minutes, we had finished getting ready and were making our way down to the car waiting for us
One of Keith’s aides was going through Edward’s phone as we made our way to Edward’s apartment.
I had taken Edward’s file that contained information about him. So I could go over the details once more.
Edward Redmane was 36 years old and had been working at the Acland Group for the past eight years. He was unmarried but had a longtime girlfriend. Cassidy Etna, 32. They lived together in his apartment in the city. She worked part-time as a substitute music teacher at a private high school in the city.
Upon arriving at his luxury apartment, Keith and I went past the police yellow tape that covered the front door, and the two police men who waited outside greeted us. Inside the apartment were more policemen and some of Keith’s men going through and searching the property.
The apartment was beautiful and in a nice complex. It was kind of like the one I had purchased for Tony and me. At least it had been beautiful since the police had flipped it upside down as they searched it.
I looked around as we went into different rooms until we reached the living room. I found pictures of Edward and his girlfriend on his fridge. The same woman with red hair that I saw in the files.
The police man in charge of the search of the house, as well as one of Keith’s men. went to Keith and me to give a brief talk on what was happening.
“Mr. Acland, thank you for coming,” he said to him.
“Have you found my son?” Keith asked them.
“Not yet, sir,” he answered. “His entire home has been searched and we are currently on our second search to confirm if we have missed anything. We have another team also searching his other properties and will give an update soon.”
“Okay, what have you found then?” He asked.
