Chapter 287: Final escape
JASMINE’S POV
If I fail everything will be ruined.
’If it’s not safe don’t do it.’ I read Louis response.
’I’ll come in myself if I feel you’re in danger.’
’No, got it.’ I assured him.
“What time?”
“Around 2pm’
’I’ll be there.’
If Louis tried to come in himself he risked getting himself into legal trouble with Keith, if Keith figured he was responsible. And Keith would suspect Louis without a doubt regardless. So it was best I left Louis out as much as possible.
I lay on the bed staring at the ceiling as I put together my plan to escape. I had cleaned up all the evidence of messages. Not like it mattered anymore Keith was still going to manage to figure everything out. I then turned and looked out the veranda windows.
Tommorow was a bug day for
I took a stroll walk in the garden, as I looked around the estate one last time playing out what I was going to do one last time. The guards now watched me more more casually they wouldn’t find my constant circling around the estate suspicious I think..
I had confidence last night as I thought about it but now my legs were shaking. I couldn’t get cold feet now. My min
When lunch came I ate in the sitting room and when I was done I went to my bedroom.
I made a final check of my room making sure I had put away. I took all my papers, journal and files everything on table at the seating about Tony’s investigation straight into my bag. I then took Tony’s toy giraffe and placed it in my bag. that contained details about the case Even if Keith was going to figure out I took one last look at my room that had been my prison for the last weeks. I certainly hoped this was going to be my last time here.
I checked my phone again
Blue car corner of street. I read Louis’ message. He was waiting for me.
“Can’t communicate after leave. Meet you there.’ I replied.
There three things I had to navigate, the cameras, the guards.
First of the was no way to get around the cameras. I was going to be seen.
The guards usually change shortly after 2pm. They rotate around the mansion and move to a different post. I caught the near the gate on the other side not he estate walls.
I saw the guard who had been standing there since morning. My eyes once again focused on the keys at his belt.
Within the next 10 minutes or so he should be changing posts. I was sure of this after days of observing the guards I knew their routine.
I casually waited as I walked around the gardens, acting like I was casually looking around. Getting some air.
I took out my phone and began to prepare my distraction for my escape. I was timing for the shift exchange between the two guards by the gate. I needed something to distract both of them when the time came. I went onto ’Viewtube’ to get some and searched up loud screaming noises.
I increased the volume and set a time for 10 minutes for the video to start playing.
I dropped my phone in the hedges and bushes nearby the gardens. I couldn’t take my phone with me.
The reason I texted Louis that I wouldn’t be able to communicate with him once I was out of the estate was because of this. Keith would track my phone if I took out with me. Although it would be difficult to find him out there to was the best option for me.
I moved away from the bushes and continued walking around. I kept close to the little gate but using the countless bushes around me as a cover. I stood in such a way that I could see the gate from where I was as I walked around.
My breathing hitched as seconds ticked by. I was worried about what events would unfold in the following moments.
More than five minutes later I saw the guard move from his post. Exactly around the time I predicted he would.
’Now,’ I told myself. I made my way towards him. The video should start soon I thought to myself. I glanced to the other direction opposite the directing he was heading and noticed the guard who was coming to take over the post coming towards the gate.
I moved using the bushes to shield my body as I headed for the guard coming from the gate. I reached the corner of the bushes and as his footsteps approached I quickly turned into his path.
I bumped right into him as I had hoped. I pretended to lose my balance acting like I was about to fall. My eyes focused on the keys.
“Oh, sorry didn’t see you there,” I apologised to the guard. My hands quickly moved and I got the keys at his waist. I did my best not to make a sound and to be swift in my actions.
The guard grabbed my arm and helped balance me.
“No it’s my fault I wasn’t looking where I was going, ma’am,” he apologised. “Are you alright?” He asked me concerned.
I slowly nodded my head. I smiled up at him as it seemed he hadn’t noticed what I had done.
Then a loud noise suddenly tore through the gardens.
The guard and I turned to look in the direction of the phone I had left in the bushes.
“Oh my god what is that?” I asked concerned.
“Stay, here let me go and investigate,” he said. He then quickly went toward it. The guard who had been heading towards the gate for the shift exchange also joined and went to join the other guide.
My distraction had worked. I looked back the guards who were distracted by my distraction in the yard.
With no one at the gate I ran towards it. Then next 10 seconds were extremely crucial.
