I AM A MAGE BUT WITH MILF SYSTEM - Chapter 624 - 624: You don't know the truth, Sir

“Starting from the hardest question, I see,” Skreek said slowly, his squeaky voice losing all its playful quality. “The foundation of everything.”
He studied Julian carefully for a long moment.
“It’s quite difficult, you see,” Skreek continued, choosing his words with obvious care. “I know you are strong—Skreek can sense that much, even without being a mage himself. And your wives are strong as well, clearly powerful mages. But to understand the true reason for our isolation, you might need to understand some other things first. And Skreek is not sure if you are ready to listen to it.”
Julian’s frown deepened. “Ready to listen to what?”
Skreek leaned forward, his hands gripping the arms of his chair.
“Because it will literally change your whole perspective of life, Sir. Everything you think you know about the world, about power, about what’s possible—it will all be challenged. Skreek has seen it before… when outsiders learn the truth, some cannot accept it, some go mad and some simply refuse to believe.”
The three daughters exchanged glances, confused by where this was going. What could a merchant in a lower realm possibly know that would challenge their perspective? They had traveled through the void between worlds, fought a True God Realm dragon, known their father was a True God himself. What truth could possibly shake them?
Julian’s mind was racing as well, trying to understand what Skreek was building toward. The crocodile-man was genuinely serious now.
“Tell me anyway,” Julian said determined. “Whatever the truth is, I can handle it.”
Skreek stared at him for another long moment, then slowly nodded.
“Very well. But do not say Skreek did not warn you.”
The crocodile-man stood from his chair and moved to one of his shelves, pulling down what appeared to be an old, leather book. He returned to his seat, opening the book to a page marked with a ribbon.
“What do you know,” Skreek asked carefully, “about the greater cosmos? About the world beyond your kingdom, beyond this world itself?”
Julian’s eyebrows rose slightly. “The greater cosmos?”
“Yes, yes!” Skreek was gesturing to the book now. “You think this world—the Ares Kingdom, the Hermes Kingdom, all the nations and continents—you think this is everything, yes? This is the whole universe?”
He didn’t wait for Julian to answer.
“It is NOT!” Skreek declared, his voice cracking. “This world, Sir, is just one of MANY worlds! One tiny speck in an infinite cosmos filled with countless realms, countless realities, countless planes of existence!”
Seraphine, Lyanna, and Cassandra were trying very hard not to laugh. They could see where this was going—poor Skreek was about to explain the multiverse to people who had literally just traveled between worlds.
Julian kept his expression neutral, letting the merchant continue.
“And the power levels you know—Apprentice Mage, Mage, all the way up to Grand Mage—these are just the BEGINNING!” Skreek was standing now, walking back and forth. “Grand Mage is not the pinnacle! Not even close!”
He spun toward Julian, his eyes wide and intense.
“There are realms ABOVE Grand Mage, Sir! Realms of power so vast that a Grand Mage is like an insect to them! They are called Demi-Gods!”
Skreek paused dramatically, clearly expecting shock or disbelief.
Julian nodded calmly. “Go on.”
Skreek blinked, seeming surprised by the lack of reaction, but continued either way.
“Demi-Gods are beings who have transcended mortality! They have touched the divine, Sir! They can live for thousands of years! Their power can level mountains, create storms, reshape reality itself! A single Demi-God could destroy your entire Ares Kingdom without breaking a sweat!”
“But even THAT is not the peak! Above Demi-God is the God Realm itself! True Gods, Sir! Beings of such incomprehensible power that they make Demi-Gods look like children playing with toys!”
Cassandra had her hand pressed to her mouth, her shoulders shaking with suppressed laughter. Lyanna was biting her lip hard, trying to maintain composure. Seraphine had turned her face away, pretending to examine something on a nearby shelf to hide her expression.
Julian somehow managed to remain serious.
“Gods,” he said, as if the concept was new to him. “Tell me more about these Gods.”
Skreek was practically oozing with excitement.
“Gods, Sir! GODS!” His squeaky voice rose to a near-whistle. “They are beings who have achieved ultimate power! They can create worlds from nothing! They can destroy entire realities with a thought! They control the fundamental laws of existence itself!”
He leaned in close, his voice dropping to a whisper.
“They say—and this is just rumor, mind you, just stories passed down—but they say that true Gods can manipulate time, can see across dimensions, can exist in multiple places simultaneously! They are beyond death, beyond destruction, beyond any comprehension!”
Skreek straightened up, spreading his arms wide in a dramatic gesture.
“A God could destroy this entire kingdom—our entire world—with a single finger! Just… POOF!” He clapped his hands together. “Gone! Erased! Like it never existed! That’s how far above mortals they are!”
He began walking again, his enthusiasm building.
“And these Gods, Sir, they don’t just exist in isolation! They have hierarchies, politics, conflicts! They create worlds as experiments or playgrounds! They nurture civilizations or destroy them on a whim! They are the true powers of the cosmos!”
Julian nodded thoughtfully, as if seriously considering this revelation. “I see. And this is related to the Hermes Kingdom’s isolation how?”
“Because WE KNOW!” Skreek declared, spinning to face Julian. “The Hermes Kingdom is one of the few places in this world that KNOWS the truth! That understands that we are just tiny, insignificant specks in a vast cosmos filled with beings of unimaginable power!”
He moved closer, his voice becoming more urgent.
“The other kingdoms—your Ares Kingdom, the Hades Empire, all of them—they live in ignorance! They think Grand Mage is the peak of power! They think this world is all that exists! They have no idea that there are beings out there who could erase their entire civilization without even noticing!”
