I Became the Rich Second-Generation Villain - Chapter 311: He’s Actually a Protagonist

Wang Haoran’s question was met with a slight turn of the head from Luo Qingqian. She glanced at him softly, then shook her head and murmured, “It’s better if you don’t know. Knowing too much… won’t do you any good.”
Wang Haoran’s expression darkened. His tone sharpened as he shot back, “What’s that supposed to mean? You think I’m just an ordinary person, so I’m not worth telling?”
“No, of course not. I know you don’t cultivate martial arts, but that doesn’t mean I look down on you in the slightest.” Luo Qingqian rushed to explain, sensing his irritation.
Then, relenting, she offered an answer to his earlier question. “His name is Yan Yuntian. He comes from a secluded martial sect called Fengxi Sect. His father is the head of a secular financial conglomerate worth hundreds of billions, and his mother… is the current Sect Master of Fengxi.”
Wang Haoran raised his brows. That kind of background? It was absurdly overpowered—even more so than his own.
Without hesitation, he mentally called upon the system to scan this newcomer’s information.
【Protagonist: Yan Yuntian】
【Combat Power (Realm): 3662 – Internal Force, Minor Grandmaster】
【Charm Value: 318】
【Protagonist Halo: 5263】
【Skills (Golden Finger): Unrestricted Overrun Halo (Note: After forcibly claiming a female lead, the target will always forgive him and develop max Favorability).
Fatal Damage Rebound Halo (Note 1: When receiving lethal damage, 80% chance to nullify and reflect the same back to the attacker. Note 2: This halo becomes invalid if protagonist’s halo falls below 2000).】
Damn it!
He’s actually a protagonist?!
Wang Haoran’s scalp prickled as the system fed him the information.
He just assumed Yan Yuntian was some ridiculously overpowered villain—after all, that background, that smug attitude, it all screamed “big boss villain.” But no. He was a protagonist. Worse, he might be the most broken one Wang Haoran had seen yet.
That halo—Unrestricted Overrun Halo—was absolutely outrageous. It essentially made Yan Yuntian a walking bulldozer: whoever he wanted, he could take. Even if he used force, the target wouldn’t hate him for it. Instead, they’d fall hopelessly in love.
Wang Haoran actually felt a murderous urge rise in his chest. With his hundred years of Internal Energy, he was a Peak Grandmaster, combat power nearing 5000. By raw strength alone, he could crush Yan Yuntian.
But then came the catch: the Fatal Damage Rebound Halo.
Eighty percent chance to bounce any lethal attack right back? That meant four times out of five, if he struck to kill, he’d end up dead himself. Only a one-in-five chance to succeed?
There was no way he could bet on odds like that.
Damn it all.
Wang Haoran had faced plenty of protagonists, but never had one made him feel such deep loathing.
As his thoughts churned, Yan Yuntian and his maid had already arrived at the pavilion by the lotus pond—and, inevitably, crossed paths with Qin Yunhan.
Seeing the unfamiliar pair, Qin Yunhan blinked in surprise. She assumed they were a couple out on a date and tactfully stepped aside, planning to wait elsewhere for Wang Haoran.
“Yunhan, don’t you recognize me?” Yan Yuntian called out with a warm smile.
She turned back, puzzled, eyes scanning his face. “You are…?”
“We met many years ago. By blood, I’m your cousin,” Yan Yuntian explained.
Qin Yunhan paused. Somewhere in her memory, distant and vague, a few childhood images flickered to life. Realization dawned, followed by delight. “My mom said she was coming to see me soon. Why did you come instead? Where is she?”
“She’s held up by something. It’ll take a few more days. She sent me ahead to check in on you,” Yan Yuntian said smoothly.
“Oh, I see…” Qin Yunhan’s voice dipped briefly in disappointment, but she quickly gathered herself. “Let me let my dad know so he can host you properly. Since you’re here, you must stay and enjoy Qingling for a while.”
“I fully intend to,” Yan Yuntian grinned, then casually added, “In fact, I was hoping you could be my guide during my stay.”
She blinked. “That might be difficult… I still have classes.”
“Surely you have breaks now and then?” he pressed, still smiling.
Qin Yunhan didn’t want to agree. Her free time belonged to her boyfriend—no way she’d spend it playing tour guide. Still, she kept her tone polite as she replied, “Even on break, I have to study. I rarely go out, so I don’t think I’d be much help.”
“Can’t you make an exception for me?” he said, his eyes intent.
Qin Yunhan’s gaze flicked to the woman beside him. “Don’t you already have this big sister to accompany you? I wouldn’t want to intrude on your two-person world.”
“You’ve misunderstood. She’s not my girlfriend—just my maid,” Yan Yuntian replied quickly, still wearing that flawless smile.
“Oh? A maid…” Qin Yunhan was surprised, but quickly accepted it. After all, her mother’s world wasn’t like the secular one. For someone from that background to travel with a maid was perfectly normal.
“Then, can you be my guide now?” he pressed again.
She let out a light sigh, her patience wearing thin. “I’m afraid not. I already have plans with my boyfriend during the holidays.”
“Yunhan, come now,” Yan Yuntian chuckled, as if teasing a child. “You don’t have a boyfriend. I know for a fact you don’t even have male friends—so how could you possibly have a boyfriend?”
Qin Yunhan froze.
“Hit the mark, didn’t I?” His grin widened.
She laughed it off. “Heh… believe whatever you want.”
Just as Yan Yuntian was about to push further, the maid beside him, Yu Ning, spoke up softly, “Young Master, if the young lady is unwilling, perhaps we should leave it be.”
His brows twitched. Yu Ning knew why he’d come—to approach Qin Yunhan. Why was she stopping him now?
A sense of unease rippled through him.
“Tell me. I want to know,” Yan Yuntian said grimly, voice low but pressing.
Yu Ning had planned to explain privately, but one look at his face told her he wanted answers now. She dared not defy him.
Leaning close, she whispered something into his ear.
As he listened, Yan Yuntian’s handsome features twisted with fury.
