I Became the Rich Second-Generation Villain - Chapter 337:

Chapter 337: Legacy of the Ancient Doctor
As the voice echoed in his mind, Lu Chen’s blurry consciousness gradually sharpened, as if a veil had been lifted. He could clearly feel a warm current slowly blooming in his chest, spreading outward like sunlight melting ice, easing the searing pain that had racked his body from the violent impact.
The sensation wasn’t fleeting;
it lingered, comforting. And when it finally faded, the agony in his limbs vanished with it. His body felt light. His thoughts became clear as crystal.
What… what just happened?
Was it because of the jade pendant around his neck?
Dazed, Lu Chen instinctively reached for his chest, fingers brushing against the cool, blood-slick surface of the Yin-Yang pendant shaped like the yin yang fish. Moments ago, he thought the voice in his head was nothing more than a hallucination born from trauma and desperation, but now, he knew better.
It was real. All of it.
Then a surge of information poured into his mind. Medical knowledge. Techniques so advanced they felt divine.
But there was too much. Far too much. The legacy being transmitted into his memory was vast and profound, a towering edifice of healing arts that would take time to fully absorb.
Could it be? Did he actually survive a disaster only to stumble into a miracle?
Did he inherit the legacy of an Immortal Doctor?
As his mind steadied, the puzzle pieces clicked into place. That pendant was a family heirloom, passed down through generations. His grandfather had once told him stories claiming that one of their ancestors was a divine doctor.
Lu Chen never believed it until now.
“Isn’t that Lu Chen from Medical School? Poor guy… got hit so hard he flew clean across the street. No way he makes it out of this.”
“I heard the one who hit him was Professor Ji from the Marine Biology Department… she’s in big trouble.”
“Well, it’s not like it’s her fault. The guy dashed out of nowhere! That’s practically suicide!”
The bystanders, most of them students from Qingling University, gathered in a loose circle, murmuring with concern and curiosity.
Then, to their utter disbelief, Lu Chen stirred and stood up.
Gasps echoed across the street.
He stretched his arms, twisted his torso, checked his limbs, and stood there like nothing had happened. As if he hadn’t just been flung through the air and painted the pavement red.
Eyes bulged and mouths dropped as they couldn’t believe it was real.
Professor Ji Shuiyao rushed toward him, anxiety etched into her face. “Are you Lu Chen? From Medical School? How do you feel? Are you alright?”
Looking at the renowned campus goddess standing before him, Lu Chen felt a wave of nervous excitement stir in his chest. Of course, he knew her. Everyone did.
He was a second-year med student. Ji Shuiyao, the legendary beauty of the Marine Biology Department, was a figure of dreams for many students.
In his half-conscious daze earlier, he did not recognize the driver. Now, seeing her up close, his heart thumped wildly.
“Professor Ji, I’m actually…” He began with a smile, about to reassure her that he felt great, but then his instincts kicked in.
Right. He couldn’t forget why he jumped in front of the car in the first place.
Money.
He bit back the words and quickly changed course. “Look at me, do I look like I’m fine?” he said, gesturing at his blood-streaked clothes.
Ji Shuiyao blinked. “But you’re standing, talking clearly, and… you seem completely fine.”
“I look fine,” Lu Chen grimaced, quickly clutching his side and forcing a pained expression, “but inside, it hurts. I might’ve injured my internal organs.”
“Then don’t move around,” she said quickly. “I’ve already called an ambulance.”
Lu Chen knew his body was perfectly fine now. Going to the hospital would just waste precious time. After a moment’s thought, he dropped the act and straightened up, brushing off the pain.
“My grandfather’s about to undergo surgery at Qingling University Hospital. I need to get there immediately.” He paused, then added slyly, “But maybe you could offer a little compensation now, and we’ll settle the rest later.”
“You’re sure you can make it in your condition?” Ji Shuiyao hesitated, clearly still concerned.
“No problem at all,” Lu Chen replied confidently.
Seeing his steady bearing and clear speech, Ji Shuiyao no longer pressed the issue. She reached into her purse, pulled out what cash she had, and handed it over.
“I only have ten thousand yuan in cash,” she said, then added a business card. “If you need anything else, feel free to contact me anytime. We can work out the rest of the compensation later.”
Lu Chen accepted the money and card without a shred of shame. As he took them, his gaze lingered on Ji Shuiyao.
Just money?
Not nearly enough. If you really want to settle this properly… you’ll have to compensate with yourself.
Back when he was just a broke med student with no backing, he only dared to admire her from afar. A goddess professor like Ji Shuiyao was out of reach, a figure etched in mist and moonlight.
But not anymore.
Now that he had inherited the legacy of an Ancient Immortal Doctor, his fate had changed. Fortune would follow. Power would follow. Status would follow.
His mindset shifted, and his ambitions changed.
Lu Chen successfully faked the accident, now has a connection to the campus goddess. He’s determined to make use of it and feels fired up just thinking about chasing her.
To claim the untouchable goddess, make her fall for him, make her his… just the thought made his heart race.
But… he couldn’t afford to dawdle. His grandfather was still waiting at the hospital for surgery.
Suppressing the fire in his veins, Lu Chen turned and squeezed through the dispersing crowd, jogging off in the direction of the affiliated hospital.
As he broke free of the crowd, he nearly collided with someone.
The student standing in front of him was a campus celebrity, a star among the freshmen—a towering presence from a wealthy lineage. Impeccably dressed, handsome as a movie idol, top of the class… the name was well known: Wang Haoran.
Even as a second-year, Lu Chen recognized him immediately.
And yet, the moment he laid eyes on Wang Haoran, a strange surge of disgust welled up in his chest—sharp, irrational, visceral.
This rich second-gen was always seen with the three most beautiful girls of the freshman year: Qin Yunhan, Xu Muyan, and Mu Zhaozhao. They studied at the same high school, and rumors said their relationship was uncommonly close.
Lu Chen had once seen them together with his own eyes, and at the time, envy nearly ate him alive. He had dreamed of being the one sitting beside those campus goddesses.
But that was the past.
Now, he felt nothing but contempt.
He had awakened a divine inheritance. His path had already split from theirs.
What was a rich second-gen in the face of an immortal doctor?
Even with all their money, they couldn’t buy their way out of illness.
With that thought, Lu Chen didn’t even slow his pace. He brushed past Wang Haoran and ran on toward the hospital.
Wang Haoran glanced after him, mildly surprised to see someone sprinting by, blood still visible on their clothes. But he didn’t think too much of it.
He was only passing through—not even curious enough to stop and take a look.
However, as he turned to leave, the crowd began to disperse, revealing a familiar figure standing by the side of the road.
Leaning against a car, her expression tinged with lingering fear, was none other than Ji Shuiyao.
Wang Haoran walked over. “Professor Ji? Was that accident just now… did you hit someone?”
“Haoran?” Ji Shuiyao’s eyes lit up with surprise and delight the moment she saw him. Her voice softened as she greeted him, then nodded sheepishly. “Yes, it was me. I only got my license recently… I didn’t expect something like this to happen. But it’s strange. I hit him hard and he flew seven or eight meters, but somehow, even though he was covered in blood, he got up and walked away like nothing happened.”
