I Became the Rich Second-Generation Villain - Chapter 346: Ning Aoxue’s Thoughts

Chapter 346: Ning Aoxue’s Thoughts
“I already said I can’t be bothered with you. You just don’t know when to quit, do you? Tired of living?”
The moment the system prompts rolled in, Wang Haoran felt a wave of satisfaction swell beneath his calm surface. But his expression didn’t reveal even the faintest shift.
On the contrary, he kept his face cold, voice sharper now as he stared her down with deliberate menace.
“I…” Ning Aoxue faltered, utterly embarrassed.
She tried to find the right words, but her thoughts were in disarray, scattered like leaves in the wind. After hesitating for several seconds, something beyond her will took over, and three meek words spilled from her lips.
“I was wrong.”
The moment those words left her mouth, Wang Haoran’s fingers slowly released their grip from her slender, snow-white neck.
He never truly intended to hurt her—not physically, anyway. Especially since her anger had never been meant for him, but for Yan Yuntian. And now, with her heart already tilted toward him, there was even less reason to take her actions seriously.
Besides, if he ever wanted to punish her for anything, there were far more intimate ways to make her beg for mercy—ones far more satisfying than violence.
He looked down at her and said again, his voice level, “I already told you—I’m not Yan Yuntian.”
She had taken a liking to him, sure, but under a mistaken identity. That part made him uncomfortable enough to clarify himself again.
Ning Aoxue stiffened at those words. Her mouth opened slightly as though she wanted to say something, but she bit it back. Instead, she fell silent, not knowing how to respond without further embarrassing herself.
Wang Haoran didn’t know what was going through her mind, but as far as he was concerned, he’d done his part. He told her he wasn’t Yan Yuntian. Given her original intent in coming here, she would most likely turn her attention back to the real target.
With Yan Yuntian’s strength halted and his cultivation stagnating, he definitely wouldn’t be able to beat Ning Aoxue now.
It was only a matter of time before the drama unfolded.
“Go do your thing,” he said casually to Jiang Gaoxuan, who had been watching the whole exchange from the sidelines, fists clenched, awe written all over his face.
Jiang Gaoxuan snapped back to reality and immediately nodded, eyes sparkling with excitement. “Many thanks, Revered Lord, for stepping in and helping this subordinate preserve his place at the top of the rankings!”
He didn’t waste another second. With the mission in mind, he turned and left, eager to stir up trouble for Xiao Ye as ordered.
Wang Haoran didn’t linger either. After a final glance at Ning Aoxue, who was still frozen in place and lost in thought, he vanished from the square in a flicker, his figure dissolving into the night.
Ning Aoxue stood alone under the moonlight, gaze fixed in the direction he’d gone. A shadow of melancholy crept onto her delicate face.
“He denied his identity on purpose… Could it be because he doesn’t want to acknowledge me as his fiancée?” she murmured, her voice barely above a whisper.
Very few people even knew about her engagement to Yan Yuntian. So when Wang Haoran teased her about it earlier, she naturally assumed he was the man in question. Who else could’ve possibly known?
Even after he denied it, she simply thought he was angry with her for trying to break off the engagement—and that’s why he refused to admit who he was.
And she had other evidence, too.
During their fight, even though he pinned her and held her throat in his grip, his eyes had never once flashed with killing intent. If he had been just some martial arts expert she challenged out of the blue, there’s no way he would have shown such mercy.
No—everything pointed to one conclusion. This man, her so-called fiancé, was angry but still held back. Because of the bond between them, he did not truly harm her.
Thinking this, a flush of guilt bloomed on Ning Aoxue’s cheeks.
She stormed in, full of righteous fury, demanding an annulment, and even raised her hand against him. He easily defeated her, yet hadn’t so much as bruised her or even uttered a harsh word.
Meanwhile, she had acted like a madwoman, completely losing control.
“Tomorrow… once he’s calmed down, I’ll apologize in person,” she whispered to herself, a quiet resolve settling in her heart.
Wang Haoran returned to the villa.
It was already well past two in the morning. The lights were still on in many of the rooms, and as he entered, he saw Feng Anna quietly cleaning.
The villa wasn’t especially large, just a spacious hall and a few connected rooms. Under normal circumstances, the cleaning should have been finished long ago. But Feng Anna had never done physical labor in her life. She was clumsy and slow, and after all these hours, she barely managed to clean half the space.
More than that, she didn’t dare rush through it. Every surface she touched, she cleaned thoroughly, not daring to cut corners. The fear of being scolded or worse, punished, pressed heavily on her shoulders.
Her lower back throbbed with pain, and her arms were so sore she could barely lift them. She was beyond exhausted, her body crying out for rest. And it didn’t help that she was used to sleeping early—before ten every night for the sake of her beauty sleep.
Now, seeing Wang Haoran return, she wanted so badly to ask if she could stop for the night and finish the rest in the morning.
But after a moment’s hesitation, she bit her tongue.
First impressions mattered. She had just arrived, and if she couldn’t even complete the first task he assigned her, he might lose patience with her entirely. If that happened, she wouldn’t just be tired—she’d suffer in ways far worse than sleep deprivation.
So she kept scrubbing, more diligently than ever, hoping he would notice her effort.
Unfortunately, Wang Haoran didn’t spare her so much as a glance. Without a word, he turned and went straight to his room to sleep.
Feng Anna stood in the hallway, mop in hand, shoulders slumped with quiet frustration.
The next morning.
Wang Haoran awoke to the soft buzz of his phone. It was Yu Ning.
“Yan Yuntian no longer trusts me the way he used to. So he called Yun Xuan straight to Qingling.”
The moment the call connected, Yu Ning’s voice came through, tinged with a quiet unease.
“Yun Xuan… that’s the maid you mentioned before, isn’t it?” Wang Haoran asked.
“Yes. She just arrived this morning. When I saw her, I froze for a good while. After asking around, I found out Yan Yuntian secretly called her over behind my back.”
“What does she look like?”
“She’s beautiful. Every bit as attractive as me. And even though she’s technically just a maid, she’s still untouched and completely innocent,” Yu Ning replied, her tone calm, but her words laced with implication.
Wang Haoran’s lips curved into a faint smile.
He had already planned to make this a double harvest.
He hadn’t expected Yun Xuan to show up this soon in Qingling.
What Yu Ning considered bad news, he saw as the perfect opportunity.
“I want to meet her,” he said. “Can you get her to come out alone?”
Yu Ning hesitated. “I’m afraid not. She arrived early this morning after a long journey and went to rest right away. She’s probably asleep.”
Wang Haoran frowned.
The longer things dragged on, the greater the risk. He needed to see her soon.
Since she couldn’t come out, he’ll simply go see her himself.
But he wasn’t planning on sneaking around during daylight hours. No need for subtlety.
He would walk straight into Yan Yuntian’s estate and boldly, openly.
And if he ran into Yan Yuntian? So be it.
Things were different now.
He had Feng Xuansu guarding his back.
Even if a confrontation broke out, he wouldn’t need to lift a finger. Feng Xuansu would be the first to step in and shield him.
From how Yan Yuntian backed down in the matter with Feng Anna, it was clear that Feng Xuansu’s influence was heavy enough to restrain him.
