I Became the Rich Second-Generation Villain - Chapter 348: The Show Begins

Chapter 348: The Show Begins
“Ning Aoxue came to visit Yan Yuntian?”
Wang Haoran just stepped away from Feng Xuansu when he got the call from Yu Ning. For a moment, he was surprised. But the next instant, a knowing smirk curved across his lips.
He quickly figured out what was going on.
So soon? He hadn’t expected the show he’d been waiting for to start this early. The setup was slightly different from what he had in mind, but the drama he’d been anticipating—oh, it was definitely about to unfold.
“Let her in,” Wang Haoran said with a lazy smile, a hint of amusement coloring his voice. “She wants to see Yan Yuntian? Then let her see him.”
“Yes, Young Master,” Yu Ning responded promptly.
After ending the call, she returned to the estate’s front gate.
“Miss Ning, this way, please.”
Ning Aoxue nodded and followed Yu Ning into the mansion, eventually arriving in the main hall.
Yu Ning gave a quick order for tea, then turned toward her guest with a polite smile. “Please wait here a moment. The young master is still resting—I’ll go inform him.”
“Oh, he’s resting?” Ning Aoxue shook her head gently, her tone soft. “Then there’s no need to wake him immediately. I can wait. However long it takes, I don’t mind.”
“I’m afraid that won’t do. If my young master finds out I delayed a guest like you, he’ll hold me responsible,” Yu Ning insisted with a calm but firm tone.
She might not know all the details of Wang Haoran’s plan, but it was obvious he wanted Ning Aoxue and Yan Yuntian to meet as soon as possible. No use delaying.
With that, she turned and headed off to deliver the message.
Ning Aoxue didn’t object. Even if she was willing to wait, deep down, she did want to see her “fiancée sooner rather than later. She had come all this way, after all, to apologize and to make amends.
Standing outside a bedroom door, Yu Ning knocked twice and raised her voice slightly. “Young Master, a guest has come to see you.”
“Not taking visitors,” came the curt response from inside.
“It’s Ning Aoxue. From the Ning family in Cangzhou. Still don’t want to see her?” Yu Ning pressed.
There was a moment of silence. Then, from inside, Yan Yuntian’s voice came again—this time tinged with confusion and a trace of irritation. “Ning Aoxue? What’s she here for? Another one trying to cancel the engagement?”
With Feng Anna’s visit still fresh in his mind, Yan Yuntian’s first thought was that trouble had come knocking again.
But Yu Ning answered evenly, “Miss Ning had a very pleasant expression when she arrived—smiling the whole time. She even brought a gift. Judging by the ornate carvings on the box, it’s clearly something valuable. I imagine it’s meant for you.”
That gave Yan Yuntian pause.
“What does she look like?” he asked quickly, unable to hide his curiosity.
“Stunning,” Yu Ning replied smoothly. “Just as beautiful as Feng Anna, perhaps even more so. She has an air of grace and elegance about her—like someone untouched by the world. Even I, as a fellow woman, found myself moved.”
“Seriously?” Yan Yuntian sat up straight, excitement bubbling in his chest. His voice now carried obvious delight.
“Of course,” Yu Ning said. “Though… her real purpose remains unclear.”
“Treat her well. Don’t let her feel neglected. I’ll be there immediately!”
From behind the door came the sound of frantic movement—clothes rustling, footsteps hurrying across the room.
Yu Ning could practically feel his eagerness, and she couldn’t help but feel curious herself. This meeting might be even more entertaining than she expected. She turned and returned to the main hall.
Meanwhile, inside his room, Yan Yuntian had finished dressing and was now fussing over his appearance, making sure every detail was perfect. He wanted to meet Ning Aoxue looking his absolute best.
Judging by what Yu Ning told him, Ning Aoxue clearly cared about this marriage. He did not even contact her himself, yet she came all the way from Cangzhou just to see him. What else could it mean, if not that she was eager to marry him?
He was in a great mood just thinking about it—and why not? He was the heir of Fengxi Sect, a martial prodigy. It made sense for someone like Ning Aoxue to be drawn to him, to come forward willingly despite all the usual reservations a woman of noble background might have.
The only thing dampening his spirits was his physical condition. That particular “problem” had been haunting him for days. If not for that, he would’ve already arranged for her to stay the night. But unfortunately…
Yan Yuntian shook off his frustration. He’ll deal with that later. What mattered now was strengthening his bond with his fiancée. As for his condition, he recently learned that the Divine Doctor from Yixian Valley was in Qingling. With that Divine Doctor’s medical skills, there was a real chance he can be healed.
The thought of recovery filled him with hope. For the first time in days, his mind felt light, his vision clear.
By the time he was finished tidying up, he looked like the picture of a perfect young noble—charming, confident, and full of anticipation.
—
“Ugh, I’m just not feeling it,” Wang Haoran muttered, pretending to frown at the blank page in front of him.
“Don’t force it,” Feng Xuansu said sweetly. “Take a break. Sometimes inspiration needs a little space to come.”
“You’re right. Let’s rest a bit. We’ll head to the main hall and have some tea,” Wang Haoran said casually, though he was clearly more interested in catching the performance that was about to unfold.
“Okay.”
Feng Xuansu nodded and walked with him toward the hall.
At the same time, Yan Yuntian had already arrived.
There were two people in the room when he entered—Yu Ning, and the breathtaking woman seated elegantly on the sofa.
Her beauty was ethereal, almost unreal. This was Ning Aoxue—his fiancée.
Yan Yuntian’s heart thudded with excitement. He stepped forward and greeted her with barely restrained warmth. “Aoxue, I overslept and kept you waiting. Please forgive your husband.”
The words barely left his mouth when a sharp voice cut through the air.
“You shameless bastard. What nonsense are you spouting?!” Ning Aoxue’s face was stormy and her tone was fierce.
Her entire demeanor changed.
Yan Yuntian’s smile froze. He quickly realized he had overstepped and tried to recover, forcing a laugh.
“My mistake. I’m Yan Yuntian—your fiancée. Pleased to meet you.”
“Impossible,” Ning Aoxue snapped. “I met my fiancée last night. The moon was dim, yes, but I wasn’t so blind that I could mistake another man for him.”
Yu Ning calmly interjected, “Miss Ning, you must be mistaken. This man is Yan Yuntian.”
Ning Aoxue blinked, momentarily confused. She suddenly recalled that the man from the night before repeatedly said he wasn’t Yan Yuntian. She thought he was lying—but now it seems she was the one who was wrong.
Her expression turned sheepish, and her brows knitted with worry. If he wasn’t her fiancé, then who was he? What was his name? Where could she find him?
And then, just as the thought formed, a man and woman stepped into the room.
Ning Aoxue turned instinctively, and her entire face lit up.
The frown vanished in an instant, replaced by a brilliant smile that bloomed like spring sunshine. She rushed over without hesitation, her eyes locked on Wang Haoran.
“I didn’t expect to see you again so soon after last night!” she exclaimed, her voice full of joy.
To her, it felt like fate. Just moments ago, she was wondering where to find him, and now here he was, appearing as if summoned by her thoughts. It had to be destiny.
But in her happiness, she forgot to mind her words.
“To meet again after last night,” those few simple words carried all sorts of implications.
Standing off to the side, Yan Yuntian’s face turned as black as the bottom of a pot. It felt as if something heavy drop on his head and settled there permanently.
