I Became the Rich Second-Generation Villain - Chapter 378: Not Even This Much Face?

After sorting out her thoughts, Liu Yue spoke.
“Zhaozhao, lying is not a good thing.”
Then she looked at Lin Mo.
“As someone who studies finance, you must be more rational than most. What you see with your eyes isn’t always the truth. Next time you run into something like this, figure out the situation first.”
Her words served as criticism for both Lin Mo and Mu Zhaozhao.
Neither of them could argue with that.
Seeing this, Liu Yue moved on from the matter and said, “Lin Mo, that’s a teaching plan in your hand, right? Let me have a look.”
Lin Mo nodded and placed the freshly written lesson plan on her desk.
After reviewing it, Liu Yue gave an approving nod. “This meets the standard. The fourth period this morning for Finance Class 113 is mine. You’ll take that slot. If the teaching outcome is good, I’ll consider giving you more of my classes in the future—or even letting you teach your own course.”
“Thank you, Professor Liu. I’ll give it my all in class later. I won’t let you down!” Lin Mo said, visibly excited.
“Zhaozhao, that’ll be all. You should head back to class now,” Liu Yue added, not intending to pursue the matter further.
Mu Zhaozhao nodded and left the office.
“How did it go?” Wang Haoran asked as soon as she walked back into the classroom.
Zhaozhao relayed how Liu Yue had handled it.
Wang Haoran looked a little dissatisfied.
He had intended to tarnish Lin Mo’s image, but Liu Yue had seen through Zhaozhao’s act.
“That Lin Mo guy’s teaching our fourth-period class. You’d better stay out of his way and sit in the back so he doesn’t target you,” Zhaozhao warned.
“Lin Mo’s teaching us?” Wang Haoran was caught off guard.
With advanced financial theory knowledge, Lin Mo would have no problem teaching. If everything went smoothly, he’d probably gain a lot of approval points.
Wang Haoran wasn’t about to let that happen.
Just then, the second period bell rang.
He endured the class, and as soon as it ended, he headed straight for Liu Yue’s office.
“Professor Liu, I heard you’re letting Lin Mo teach our class. Is that true?” he asked.
“Yes. Is there a problem?” Liu Yue replied.
“Fifth Sis, I don’t like the look of that guy. Can you cancel it?” Wang Haoran tried a friendly, informal tone.
Since Liu Yue already knew about his relationship with Qiu Qianwei, it made sense for him to call her “Fifth Sis” like Qiu Qianwei did.
“Business is business, and personal is personal. Don’t try to pull the ‘we’re close’ card. I’m not going to undermine one of my grad students just because you’re dating my sister,” Liu Yue said firmly.
“C’mon, Master’s Wife, can’t you do me this one little favor?” When Fifth Sis didn’t work, Wang Haoran switched to Master’s Wife.
At that, Liu Yue’s lips curled into an involuntary smile, though she quickly restrained it.
“I’ll help you with other things if I can. But I’m not doing anything that harms others.”
“Please, just this once, Master’s Wife~” Wang Haoran added with mock affection.
Liu Yue felt a wave of amusement but still stood her ground. “I said no.”
To stop him from pressing further, she abruptly said, “Lin Mo said he saw you push Mu Zhaozhao against the wall and cover her mouth. What’s your relationship with her?”
“We’ve known each other since high school. We’re close friends and classmates. What Lin Mo saw was just us messing around.”
“Is that really all it is?” Liu Yue asked, eyes gleaming with suspicion as she scrutinized him.
“I swear on my master’s—lower-half happiness—that there’s nothing between me and Zhaozhao. If I’m lying, may my master…” Wang Haoran began to swear solemnly.
“Alright, alright, I believe you,” Liu Yue cut him off quickly before he could finish. “Go back to class.”
Seeing her unbending attitude, Wang Haoran gave up trying to convince her and left.
On the way back to class, he began scheming.
If Liu Yue wouldn’t help, he’d have to take matters into his own hands.
With that thought, he summoned Liu Hua and the other two.
“Skip third period. Go find some stuff for me…”
Liu Hua, Lu Ming, and Wei Zhihang nodded and got to work.
Once the third period ended, the three returned with buckets, superglue, and other strange items, sneaking into the classroom to begin setting up according to Wang Haoran’s instructions.
Meanwhile, Wang Haoran logged into a WeChat alt account registered under the identity of “Stock God” and sent a message.
“Call me hubby?”
“Hubby! It’s been so long since I heard from you!” Liu Yue replied instantly.
“Work’s been insane. I’ve barely had time to breathe. But now I’ve finally got a break and wanted to reach out right away,” Wang Haoran typed.
“Work is important, but take care of your health too. Look after yourself,” Liu Yue replied.
“I work out regularly. My body’s in great shape—don’t worry.”
Seeing that, Liu Yue remembered a fitness video “her husband” had posted on Weibo. Her cheeks flushed slightly as she recalled certain scenes from it.
“When will you have time to meet me? I really want to see what you look like,” she sent with a hint of longing.
“I want to meet too, but I’m overseas. It takes too much time to travel back and forth. And the company needs me here. I really can’t get away right now,” he replied.
“Alright~”
“I’ve got some free time right now—probably about an hour. Let’s chat more.”
Knock knock.
Just as Liu Yue was about to reply with a smile, a knock sounded at the door.
“Come in,” she called.
“Professor Liu, it’s almost time for my class. Since you said you’d sit in, shall we go together?” Lin Mo asked.
Liu Yue quickly flipped her phone over, screen facing down on the desk. With a composed expression, she replied, “Something important just came up. I won’t be able to attend. Go teach it yourself.”
