I Have 10,000 SSS Rank Villains In My System Space - Chapter 349: Merisa Confrontation

Chapter 349: Merisa Confrontation
Merisa let out a slow, controlled sigh.
It wasn’t loud, yet it felt heavier than thunder as she saw.. Razeal’s resentful gaze as how he was looking at her.. with that sharp, distant, stripped of warmth so completely that it cut deeper than any blade ever could. That look alone was enough to make something tighten painfully inside her chest. She had faced wars that shattered Kingdoms, Portals, stood against beings who could even erase continents, yet this… this quiet hatred in her son’s eyes unsettled her in a way nothing else ever had.
I don’t want to do this, she thought, her fingers curling ever so slightly. But this is the only way left.
She thought as a figurative stone settled against her heart, heavy and cold. If she hesitated now, if she stepped back again, things would only rot further. She knew that much with painful clarity now.
She had thought long and hard before coming to the decision she had finally made. It hadn’t been easy for her.. far from it.
Razeal was treating her as if she didn’t exist. As if she had never mattered or never will. As if the word mother meant nothing more than an empty sound to him now.
And what hurt most.. what truly shattered something fragile within her.. was not his anger, but his indifference.
Like he had even gone as far as deciding to marry on his own first.. And even if ignore that.. thinking about when the girl he was going to marry.. who was considerate enough.. unlike him.. as asked him to invite his mother to attend that special moment.
He was heartless enough to say that he didn’t have a mother… or a sister… No even saying he doesn’t have any family?
Honestly she didn’t even know how to react. It was overwhelmingly cruel. especially because.. She knew he was fully aware that his mother was sitting right there, listening to every word.. And he still did that anyway.. Honestly At that time, Merisa had.. wanted to appear before him then and there, to grab him by the collar and beat this kind of attitude and disrespect out of him until he understood just how cruel those words were.
Like.. What was with that tone?
What was that tone? To her, he just looked like a kid who was angry at her for the punishment she gave him punishment he completely deserved. It made her blood boil whenever he acted like this.
Yes, everyone regretted what happened.. he did.. but she regretted it too right ? Actually a hundred times more than he ever could. And still, he behaved like this? Trying to hurt her with his words and his actions? That was completely unacceptable to her.
Honestly she didn’t want to do it.. Like didn’t want to confront him face to face.
Like the last time she had, it had ended badly. She had done nothing but scold him… or worse, slapped him across the face in front of the entire empire. That memory alone was one of the reasons she hadn’t taught him a lesson back there, during the royal competition. She feared she wouldn’t be able to control herself and might do something she would regret again.
Sitting alone in that place, she had thought everything through.. about what was happening now, about where things were heading. And she had realized it at last.
The water had already risen above her head.
It was time for her to step up, no matter how rough it had to be.
Razeal had crossed every limit she had allowed him till now. When he had run away before, she had thought of letting him live his own life. Maybe, she had hoped, when he grew up, he would one day understand whether what she did had been right. She didn’t want to be harsh with him.. As he clearly hated it.. and she believed that hatred would fade with time. So she thought to gave him that time.
But looking at his actions now, it seemed she had underestimated the resentment and hate he carried toward her.
From the way things stood, she could see it clearly: if she didn’t act now, from her side, nothing would ever improve. It would only continue to worsen.. again and again.
So she decided to be rough.. To take control of him.
To bind his arms and legs and drag him home, whether he wanted it or not.
She didn’t know if this would fix everything between them or if it would only make things worse, just as she had always feared it will. But her mind was made up now.
After all, regretting the things you did was better than regretting the things you never tried. At the very least, she owed it to herself to try.. to try to make up with her son, to make him understand.
With a quiet breath, she lightly shook her head and raised her hand.
Anyways… she lightly shook her head before raising her hand and snapping her finger as she looked at Razeal and all the people inside the ship.
And just as she snapped her finger, suddenly everyone who had been inside the ship was brought in front of her.. as if teleported.. Razeal, Sofia, Maria, Aurora, Levy, Yograj… all of them without any resistance.
Now floating in front of her, just some distance away, they stood in a straight horizontal line. They were still unable to move, but now they could turn their heads, as it seemed Merisa had freed at least this small bit of their freedom.
Merisa studied them quietly
“What do you want?”
Razeal was the first to speak.
The moment the invisible pressure around his mouth loosened.. just enough for breath and sound.. he spoke without hesitation, without restraint, his voice sharp and raw. The sudden freedom was brief, almost like a door opened for a heartbeat only to be slammed shut again.
As before the last echo of his words could even fade, Merisa’s gaze shifted toward him.
Just silently looking at him before..
Her power moved without gesture or warning. As the pressure holding Razeal returned again instantly, far heavier than before, clamping down on his face, his jaw and throat.. forcing silence back into him as if his voice had never existed in the first place. The restraint was absolute, precise and even humiliating in how effortless it felt.
She did not answer him or acknowledge him.. As looking for much time at him.
She simply just ignored him completely.
Merisa turned away from him as if he were nothing more than background noise and floated forward, her movement smooth and unhurried, stopping instead in front of Sofia.
Razeal’s body stiffened again, locked in place, his mouth sealed shut by invisible force. Even the smallest twitch was denied. Rage flared inside him, violent and uncontrollable, but it had nowhere to go. His pupils tracked her movement obsessively, following his mother’s form as she passed him, the only part of him still free.
He couldn’t believe it.
Not the restraint itself.. he had expected that. But how complete it was.
He couldn’t move? Couldn’t speak? Couldn’t even blink unless she allowed it?
Every muscle screamed with tension, every instinct telling him to fight, to resist, to do something.. but his body refused to respond. Like responding .. But it was as if something holding whole his body down.. But he just not strong enough to break that hold.. All because of his weakness. He could feel his strength, coiled and ready, trapped beneath an unbreakable layer of control.
It wasn’t that he could do nothing.
He could feel it clearly now.
Only his body was restrained.. Not that he cant do anything else.. or use his skills.. Like some he cant use..
Like is flow ability.. obiously he cant use it.. Like how is he supposed to anyways? She had pinned him in absolute stillness. If he tried to move through flow.. Like flow with any flow? forced into displacement? while his physical form remained locked in place.. Wouldn’t the result be Obious? He’ll just make a paste out of himself if he tried to do it. Flows own power would tear or shreed him apart. His instincts screamed warnings, his mind calculating the outcome instantly.
Don’t use flow.. And he listened.
Though it wasn’t as if he was completely powerless.
He had other ways too now.. Like back on the ship, it woulve been difficult she was too far away. But now? Now the distance between them was far too small.
So without wasting another second, he acted.
As directly activating his killing illusion ability using his mind.
The technique surged outward, silent and invisible, carrying with it the weight of death he had accumulated over time. Obiously not easy illusion type skill as it do not merely show images.. But directly force perception. As dragging the target into the perspective of those he had killed, making them experience death as if it were happening to them and made them feel it foo
He honestly didn’t expect it to succeed.
But still he tried it anyways.. Just with aim to.. distract her.. If he’s lucky that is.
As also at the same time, shadow energy erupted beneath them. From the darkness cast by both their forms, sharp-edged tentacles burst forth, black and jagged, rising like blades from below.. From shadow of Razeal and.. Merisa herself.. As they struck with lethal precision, converging on Merisa’s body from multiple angles, aimed to pierce, bind, or tear.
But
They never reached her.
The tentacles just as came out of shadows froze mid-air, stopping mere centimeters from her body, as if they had slammed into an invisible wall. Not shattered. Not deflected. Just… halted. Suspended in space, trembling uselessly, restrained by the same overwhelming psychic force.
Merisa paused.
She did not turn around immediately. Her gaze shifted slightly, acknowledging the presence of the attack without urgency. Slowly as she turned her head back toward Razeal, her expression unreadable.
“You even learned how to cast illusion?” she asked calmly. “And a type I can’t recognize.”
Her eyes flicked briefly to the immobilized shadows. “Did you create it yourself? Impressive.. I can tell they weren’t that bad. ”
There was no anger in her voice. Just mild curiosity and impression.
She resumed floating toward Sofia, completely unconcerned, even as the shadow tentacles hung uselessly in the air behind her.
“But trying to distract me with illusions?” she continued, her tone almost bored. “You really think things like that will work on someone from the Virelan family?”
Her gaze expressionlessly moved as it settled back on him again.
“Not to mention me? The head of the family.”
She studied him in silence for a moment. “Is this trying to disrespect me again or Just that this is all you have.. So using it anyways?”
Razeal didn’t say anything.. not that he could anyways.. But he definitely did saw that his attacks weren’t working at all. And there was nothing he could do about that.
Obviously, he was aware it wouldn’t work on her. Knowing her level, she must have countless high-level mental shields protecting her mind. As for his Killing Dao ability.. it was only A-rank. At best, he could cast an A-rank killing illusion, and that level meant nothing to someone like her.
Yet he cast it anyway.
Since it was all he could do anyways
As for his shadow skills, he already knew they wouldn’t work either. Still, seeing how effortlessly she stopped them made Razeal feel deeply disappointed in himself. He couldn’t do anything to her. These were all his abilities.
His physical skills.. the ones he relied on the most were completely restrained for now .. As for his long-distance techniques? Such as Flow, were unusable. His shadow abilities? She blocked them as if they were nothing.
And about his new blood skills?
He wanted to use them too but there was no blood around. He tried drawing blood from his own body, yet nothing came out. It was as if the layer of telekinesis surrounding him prevented even that, sealing his body completely, like an invisible shell pressed against his skin.
And he had a feeling that even if he could use them, it wouldn’t have made much difference.
No matter how much he did… no matter how hard he tried to gather strength from every corner of himself… after everything he had endured… when the moment finally came.
He was the same as before.
Powerless. Standing before her. Unable to do anything at all at all.. As if he hadn’t made any progress at all.. Just same weak Razeal he was.
Yes, he understood the difference between a half-step Emperor and himself.. a mere peak Saint. But still, he couldn’t help but feel utterly defeated. After everything he’d gone through, he was still standing in the same place.
How was he supposed to fight like this? Like currently standing there now he could feel it.
That
She could kill him in an instant if she wanted to. And knowing he wouldn’t even be able to resist.. that.. Incapable of restraining her, couldn’t react, couldn’t do anything.. No nothing.
Just… end.
Razeal couldn’t help but feel small, realizing just how fragile he truly was.
Unable to protect himself or stand for himself even though he is in right.
“Well, at least… all the attacks you used…” Merisa spoke again at last, her voice calm, almost indifferent, as her gaze drifted toward the frozen black tentacles suspended in the water around her. They hovered there like a paused nightmare, sharp edges gleaming faintly, stopped centimeters from her skin.
“You didn’t aim for the vitals. Should i say that am happy you don’t want to kill me at very least?”
Her eyes shifted back to Razeal as she said it lightly, as if commenting on intent rather than technique.
Razeal couldn’t reply back… If he could he would very likely reject the statement as how his eyes were burning.
Merisa though did not linger on him.
She floated forward instead, drifting past him with unhurried grace until she stopped directly in front of Sofia. The distance between them was minimal.. barely a step apart close enough that Sofia could clearly see the deep purple of Merisa’s eyes, calm, unreadable and totally emotionless.
Sofia was restrained as well. Her body refused to move no matter how much she tried to shift her stance or raise her hands. The invisible force held her firmly in place, yet her posture remained straight, her chin lifted slightly in defiance.
“Well,” Merisa said, studying her quietly, “I presume this is our first meeting.”
Her tone was even, controlled, stripped of hostility, yet the weight behind her presence made the words feel heavier than any threat.
“Honestly, I didn’t want our first encounter to be like this.” She paused briefly, her gaze unwavering. “But it seems the situation demanded otherwise.”
She tilted her head slightly, eyes narrowing just a fraction. “And judging by what had happened… he didn’t want you to meet me either.”
Her eyes flicked.. briefly, deliberately toward Razeal before returning to Sofia.
Sofia remained silent.
She met Merisa’s gaze head-on, her expression tight but composed, lips pressed together, eyes sharp. There was no fear in her eyes or anything.. Just observing her too.
For several long seconds, neither of them spoke.
The water around them felt unnaturally still, as if the entire ocean had paused to listen. The silence stretched, thick and uncomfortable, wrapping around everyone present like a tightening net.
Behind Sofia, the others could barely breathe.
Maria’s face had gone rigid, her jaw clenched hard. Sweat beaded at her temples despite the cold water surrounding them. Her eyes never left Merisa.. not for a second. The reality of the situation had sunk in fully now. This wasn’t just a powerful enemy.
This was the Matriarch of the Virelan household.
The second strongest being in the world.
Someone who could erase them all without effort.. And that was true as they could feel it now. Like yograj and aurora cant die but still.. They are sure she can do pretty scary thing’s too.. Which would want them to die.
Aurora and Levy stood frozen where they were, fear etched openly across their faces. Their bodies were locked in place, but even if they had been free, neither would have moved. The pressure alone was enough to crush courage. Their thoughts raced wildly, every instinct screaming danger, every breath feeling borrowed.
Finally, Merisa broke the silence.
“I know you could attack me,” she said calmly, her eyes still fixed on Sofia. “Even restrained like this.”
Her voice was steady, almost curious. “I’m wondering why you aren’t.”
Sofia inhaled slowly.
For a moment, it seemed like she might remain silent.. but then she spoke.
“I can,” Sofia said honestly, her voice clear despite the tension coiled tight in her chest. “But I’m aware it won’t work.”
The words were simple, direct and unembellished.
Merisa’s nodded her head faintly acknowledging the answer without comment.
“From the looks of it,” Merisa continued, “you already know that the mother he claimed was dead… isn’t truly dead.”
She shifted her stance slightly, her presence unwavering. “I am that mother.”
Her gaze sharpened just a touch. “The one he said was dead.”
She watched Sofia carefully as she said it, as if gauging her reaction.
But Sofia stull didn’t flinch or said anything.
Just simply continued to meet Merisa’s gaze in silence.
“And here I thought,” Merisa added after a pause, “that my daughter in law would at least greet me.”
Her expression still didn’t change. No anger.. No sarcasm.. Just a calm statement, delivered with unnerving composure.
Sofia finally responded.
“I can see that my husband doesn’t want anything to do with you,” she said flatly. “So I won’t either.”
“As it seems like you did something bad to him.” She held Merisa’s gaze without wavering. “You aren’t my mother-in-law unless my husband says you are.”
She sighed slightly.. Even though feeling kinda bad about it.
“I stand with him,” Sofia continued. “Whatever he wants to do.”
Her eyes hardened slightly.
“If he says you are his mother, I will respect you as my mother-in-law.”
“But if he doesn’t..”
She paused deliberately.
“Then you are nothing to me either.”
The water seemed to grow heavier.
Aurora’s breath caught in her throat.
Levy’s eyes widened in disbelief.
Yograj felt his heart lurch violently, fear flooding through him. Kinda worried for.. his mind now.
Those words were dangerous.
Unthinkably dangerous.
They expected retaliation. Pressure, Rage or Something.
But Merisa only looked at Sofia quietly still expressionless as ever.
“I see,” she said.
Her tone remained calm, but something subtle shifted.. something deep, barely perceptible. No anger or approval.
Her gaze lingered on Sofia a moment longer before drifting, slowly, back toward Razeal as if thinking about something.
“Why are you stopping us?” Sofia suddenly spoke, her voice cutting through the suffocating stillness. As she looker at Merisa who turned her head as looking at Razeal..
