Chapter 359: Chapter 359 Pretending to be the Eunuch in the Empress’s Bedchamber
Lin Feng’s gaze swept across everything, calm yet observant. Then he looked at Qin Ran. For some reason, the moment his eyes landed on her, Qin Ran felt a strange sensation run through her body.
It was almost hidden. But unmistakable. As if she had been completely seen through. Like standing naked under his gaze, with no secrets left to hide. Her brows furrowed slightly.
“What?” she asked, her tone carrying a faint edge. Lin Feng looked away casually.
“Nothing,” he said. “I was just thinking… I understand now why you like this place.” His voice was light, almost absent-minded. Yet those words made Qin Ran pause for a brief moment.
Before she could respond, Lin Feng had already begun descending. He walked forward through the air as if stepping on invisible ground, heading straight toward the massive gates of the temple.
At the entrance stood two enormous monk statues, positioned on either side like silent guardians. To ordinary eyes they were nothing more than intricately carved stone figures. Impressive, but lifeless.
But to Lin Feng they were anything but ordinary. His eyes lingered on them for a moment longer. Deep within those statues, he could sense something hidden.
Something ancient. Layers of mystery embedded within their existence, quietly watching, quietly waiting.
“This Grand Purity Temple…” Lin Feng thought to himself, his gaze deepening slightly.
“It truly has a long and profound history.”
The massive gates of the Grand Purity Temple slowly creaked open. There were no guards rushing forward, no loud announcements… only a quiet, almost reverent motion, as if the temple itself acknowledged Qin Ran’s presence.
The ancient doors parted just enough to allow them through, and without hesitation, Lin Feng followed her inside. The moment they stepped past the threshold, the world changed.
A profound stillness enveloped them.
The noise of the outside world seemed to vanish completely, replaced by a deep, almost sacred silence. The temple grounds stretched out before them, illuminated by rows of soft lantern light.
The glow reflected gently off white stone paths and polished structures, giving the entire place an ethereal quality. It was peaceful.
The faint scent of incense lingered in the air, drifting from distant halls where offerings still burned. Somewhere far away, a wooden chime echoed softly, carried by the night breeze.
Despite the sheer scale of the temple, not a single unnecessary sound could be heard. Most of the disciples were already asleep.
Others remained in seclusion, sitting cross-legged in their chambers, quietly cultivating through the night.
Occasionally, a faint ripple of spiritual energy would pass through the air, gentle and controlled and it was evidence of disciplined practice. This was a righteous sect. Orderly. Restrained. Pure.
Thousands of disciples lived within these walls, and their numbers only continued to grow.
Each year, new children were accepted boys and girls as young as ten, brought here by hopeful families or by fate itself, stepping onto the long and uncertain path of cultivation.
Generations had passed through these gates. Legacies had been built here. Names had been carved into history. Qin Ran walked ahead, her steps measured but slightly faster than usual.
Her expression had returned to its usual calm. Lin Feng followed behind, his gaze drifting across the surroundings. He observed everything. The layout. The formations hidden beneath the ground.
The faint spiritual currents flowing through the temple. To an ordinary cultivator, this place was simply sacred. To Lin Feng, it was layered with meaning.
Soon, Qin Ran led him through multiple courtyards, past quiet meditation halls and towering statues, until they arrived at a secluded chamber deep within the temple grounds.
The doors opened. Inside sat an elderly monk.
He was bald, clad in simple robes, his posture straight despite his age. His presence was calm, steady, and deeply rooted like an ancient tree that had weathered countless storms.
A faint golden aura lingered around him. Pure. Righteous. Unyielding. This was not just any elder. This was someone who stood near the core of the Grand Purity Temple.
Qin Ran stepped forward without hesitation.
She spoke clearly, directly, recounting everything she had learned about Fang Yuan, about the many maidens that has been tainted by Fang Yuan’s evil seed and the demise that they would all soon suffer should they lay uncured.
More than two thousand victims. The words echoed heavily in the quiet chamber. When she finished, silence followed. The elderly monk did not speak immediately. His expression had changed.
The calmness in his eyes was replaced by disbelief, then slowly by something deeper… shock mixed with anger.
“I… cannot believe this,” he said at last, his voice low and heavy.
“I know Fang Yuan. I have observed him for years… his conduct, his cultivation… nothing suggested such depravity.” His fingers curled slightly against his robe.
“To think he could commit such acts under our very noses…” A faint tremor passed through his aura.
“This… this is too difficult to accept.” The weight of the revelation pressed down on the room. A righteous sect. A holy place. And yet such darkness had grown within it, unnoticed.
The monk closed his eyes briefly, as if steadying his thoughts. Then he opened them again. Sharp. Focused. He turned his gaze toward Lin Feng. At the same time, Qin Ran did the same.
Neither of them spoke. But their intent was clear. Proof. Evidence. This was no small accusation. If it were true, it would shake the very foundation of the Grand Purity Temple.
Yet in Qin Ran’s eyes, there was no doubt. Not anymore. Her gaze lingered on Lin Feng for a moment longer than necessary. After everything she had experienced today… The short battle. The overwhelming gap. The way he had spared her without hesitation.
She understood one thing clearly that man like Lin Feng had no need to fabricate lies. All attention fell upon Lin Feng. Under their gazes, he remained completely calm. In reply, he simply gave a small nod.
“Call all the women in your temple,” he said evenly. “Have them all gather outside.” He paused briefly, his tone steady and unquestionable.
“I’ll let them come forward one by one… and I will heal them.” A faint silence followed his words. Then he added, almost casually…
“After all, no one is willing to face death for the sake of a lie.”
