Chapter 384: Chapter 384 You Have the Eyes of a Dragon and the Brain of a Shrimp
“Guo Han? I remember that man,” Lin Feng said calmly, his tone unhurried as if he were merely recalling a trivial matter from the past. His eyes rested on Shi Dong and Lu Ben with faint indifference.
“And I also remember winning his necklace fair and square.”
He paused for a brief moment, as though giving them time to digest his words, before continuing in the same steady voice.
“If you wish to take it back, then bring something of equal value to exchange for it. I, Lin Feng, am not unreasonable.” A faint curve tugged at the corner of his lips, though there was no warmth behind it. “Otherwise…” His gaze sharpened, and an almost imperceptible pressure began to spread from his body. “…you may proceed with your original intention and take it by force.”
As his words fell, Lin Feng stepped forward. With his hands clasped behind his back, Lin Feng advanced leisurely, his posture relaxed and composed.
There was not a trace of caution in his movements, nor any sign that he regarded the two before him as worthy opponents.
Instead, it felt as though he was simply indulging them, allowing this farce to play out for a brief moment longer before bringing it to an end.
“Everyone, step back!” an aged voice suddenly rang out from among the students, sharp and commanding.
It was one of the older students, his expression solemn as he quickly retreated. His reaction triggered the others, and in an instant, the crowd began to move.
One after another, Lin Feng’s students pulled back, creating a wide, open clearing around the three figures at the center.
Even those who were reluctant to leave the front hesitated only briefly before following suit. No one wanted to remain within the danger zone.
They all understood that once experts of this level made a move, the resulting shockwaves alone could be devastating. The ground beneath their feet seemed to hum faintly as the distance widened.
Yet even as they retreated, none of them took their eyes off the scene.
“Defeat this bad person, Mentor Lin Feng! Wanwan believes in you!” a bright, childish voice rang out, breaking the tension for a brief moment.
The young girl waved her small fists in encouragement, her eyes sparkling with complete trust, as if the outcome had never been in doubt.
“Hah… tsk tsk…” Yuan Bao clicked his tongue, folding his arms as he shook his head in disbelief. His gaze toward Shi Dong and Lu Ben was filled with mockery. “You’re already so old, yet still this blind. To think you’d come all the way here just to throw your lives away.”
He let out a short, disdainful laugh before continuing, “Mentor Lin Feng could deal with the two of you even while sleeping. And yet you still dare to act so arrogantly in front of him… truly laughable.”
Around him, several students nodded in agreement, their expressions ranging from amused to sympathetic. In their eyes, this was no battle worth worrying about.
The only uncertainty lay in how long Lin Feng would allow it to last. Some thought it would end in a single move. Others believed the two wouldn’t even be able to force Lin Feng to lift a hand.
What was even more absurd was that some people had already started placing bets on the spot, wagering on how long it would take Lin Feng to defeat the old man.
To them, the outcome of the battle was never in question… only its duration.
Meanwhile, at the center of the clearing, Lin Feng came to a stop.
The faint breeze lifted the edges of his robes, causing them to flutter softly. His figure stood tall and unmoving, like a mountain rooted firmly between heaven and earth.
His calm expression remained unchanged, but the invisible pressure surrounding him continued to build, pressing down on everything in the vicinity.
The earlier casual exchange had vanished, replaced by a suffocating stillness.
Even the air between them seemed to solidify, as though the slightest movement would shatter the fragile balance and ignite the battle.
Old man Shi Dong could hardly believe what he was witnessing.
From the moment he stepped into this place, the gazes directed at him had been wrong. There was no fear, no caution, not even the basic respect one would show to a great powerhouse like him.
Instead, there was only contempt… ridicule… and, most infuriating of all, pity.
Pity.
These people were actually looking at him as if he were some ridiculous performer and a foolish monkey jumping around for their amusement.
The more he sensed those looks, the more his chest burned with rage. His fingers tightened around the hilt of his sword, veins faintly bulging along his hand.
When was the last time he had been treated like this? Decades? No… perhaps never.
Even among his peers, even when facing stronger opponents, there had always been a baseline of respect.
Yet here, in front of a group of juniors and mere students and old grandpas he was being looked down upon so openly. It was simply intolerable.
“There are mountains beyond mountains and heavens beyond heavens!” Shi Dong roared, his voice exploding outward like thunder, echoing across the entire clearing.
His aura surged violently, stirring the air around him into a frenzy. “You’re only arrogant because you come from some ancient clan!” His eyes burned with fury as he locked onto Lin Feng.
“Today, I’ll show you that not everyone fears you brats from those hidden lineages!” The moment his words fell, a sharp metallic hum cut through the air. A sword appeared in his grasp.
The blade gleamed coldly, its edge carrying a dense killing intent that seemed to distort the space around it. Without hesitation and without even giving Lin Feng a chance to respond Shi Dong moved.
His figure blurred. In an instant, he crossed the distance and brought his sword down in a powerful slash aimed directly at Lin Feng.
BANG!
