Chapter 398: Chapter 398 Shut Up and Take My Breath Away
Lin Feng arrived at the room and pushed the door open. It was unlocked.
The moment he stepped inside, a faint fragrance drifted toward him… fresh, delicious, like blooming flowers after rain. His gaze lifted, and there she was.
Li Yuhua sat before a polished mirror, her long red hair cascading down her back like a flowing river of silk. She was gently combing through it, each slow stroke deliberate and unhurried.
The strands still glistened faintly, slightly damp and clinging together in places, making it obvious she had only just finished bathing.
She wore a simple white robe, loosely wrapped around her figure.
It was modest in design, yet the way it rested against her skin, paired with her relaxed state, gave her an effortless, natural allure far more captivating than any elaborate attire.
The soft sound of the door drew her attention. Her hand paused mid motion.
Without rushing, she set the comb down on the table, her fingers lingering on it for just a brief second before she rose to her feet. Turning slowly, she faced Lin Feng. For a moment, time seemed to stretch.
Her eyes settled on him, and then, almost instinctively, they began to wander and taking in every detail.
His calm yet commanding expression, the sharp lines of his handsome face, the quiet confidence in his gaze, and the tall, well-built body that carried an almost overwhelming presence.
There was something about him that made it hard to look away. A faint smile appeared on her lips, soft and unguarded.
She took a few steps back, her movements graceful but slightly slower than usual, as though she was carefully controlling herself.
Reaching the edge of the bed, she gently sat down before easing herself into a reclined position, her posture relaxed yet undeniably intentional.
And yet… despite her composed exterior, there was a subtle shift in her demeanor. A trace of nervousness. A hint of shyness. It had been far too long.
As she lay there, her fingers lightly grasped the fabric of her robe, unconsciously tightening for just a moment before relaxing again.
Her gaze lowered briefly, avoiding his, as memories surfaced within her heart. Her husband… had been gone for many years.
He had left in pursuit of a fortuitous encounter within a secret realm, chasing opportunity and destiny like so many cultivators before him.
But fate had not been kind and he never returned. Since that day, Li Yuhua had closed that part of her life entirely. No man had ever touched her again.
She had devoted herself wholly to her daughters Li Zhiyan and her sister raising them with unwavering dedication.
Every thought, every effort, every waking moment had been poured into ensuring their futures. She had never once allowed herself to think about companionship, much less desire.
That part of her had been buried. Forgotten. Or so she thought. Until Lin Feng appeared. Her grip on the robe tightened slightly again, her breathing growing just a fraction deeper.
She was not foolish and she understood what she was feeling. And more importantly, she understood what she was choosing. Lin Feng was… different.
Not just powerful, not just talented but extraordinary in a way that made him stand apart from everyone else.
His presence alone was enough to draw attention, to stir emotions that she had long believed no longer existed within her. He was the kind of man countless women would dream of.
And she… was no exception. To deny that truth would be nothing but self deception.
If she was to take a step forward… if she was to allow herself to feel alive again, to reclaim something she had long abandoned then she did not want it to be with just anyone.
She wanted it to be with someone worthy. Someone like him. Slowly, she lifted her gaze once more.
The earlier shyness had not disappeared, but it had changed and tempered by a quiet determination. There was hesitation, yes… but there was also resolve.
Her eyes met his again, steady this time, though still carrying a softness that had not been there before. She did not speak. But in that silence, everything that needed to be said was already there.
All that had passed through Li Yuhua’s mind did not escape Lin Feng.
With his divine sense, her fleeting hesitation, her buried loneliness, and the resolve she had finally grasped were all as clear to him as an open book.
He understood her choice completely and understood the weight behind it, and the courage it had taken for her to arrive here tonight. And unlike before, Lin Feng felt no restraint.
With Ning Xi and Ye Jian, there had always been certain considerations and obvious barriers that made him pause, if only for a moment.
But now, there was none of that. Li Yuhua stood before him by her own will, her decision firm, her heart already leaning toward him. A faint smile formed at the corner of his lips.
“So tonight… I finally welcome my true second woman in my harem,” he mused inwardly, a trace of satisfaction passing through his thoughts.
Without hesitation, he stepped forward and sat beside her on the bed. He did not rush. Nor did he bother removing his teacher’s robes.
Instead, he simply looked at her quietly, attentively, as if taking in every detail. And Li Yuhua… truly was a sight to behold. Her damp crimson hair fell loosely over her shoulders, framing her delicate features.
A soft flush lingered across her cheeks, whether from the bath or her emotions, even she could not tell. The white robe she wore clung lightly to her form, its simplicity only enhancing her natural elegance.
For a brief moment, neither of them spoke. The air between them grew still, yet heavy with unspoken tension. Then Lin Feng moved.
Leaning forward, he closed the distance between them and pressed his lips gently against hers.
“Mmm…” Li Yuhua’s eyes widened in surprise. The suddenness of it caught her completely off guard, her body going still as her thoughts scattered.
