The next morning when the sun was up, the old marshal, Long Huang, and Killer Pavilion’s Master, Xie Yun once again led their group deeper to the inner region of the barren land. According to the territorial contract between the two races, Long Huang and Xie Yun avoided the oasis which was under the ownership of the Beast Kings.

They had seen a lot of beast nests in this region and would steal as much as they could. Of course, they didn’t take every egg way, or else the situation from before would most likely happen again. That is something they must avoid in this region.

In the inner region, the beast level range in this place is at silver to beast king grade. Even the gold grade contracted beasts in this place cannot be considered unparalleled. They can only be considered mid-rank instead. There would still be leader or commander types.

“Lao Long, it’s almost midday. That’s the hottest time in this place. We can’t go out at that time or even our protective gear will be useless,” said Pavilion Master, Xie Yun.

With the warning from their leaders, they all spread around trying not to crowd. However, there were still some clumsy ones who tripped on each other. Seeing this the other immediate move to separate them. The moment the people spread a huge sand worm with gapping mouths full of rows of sharp teeth shoot out from below.

The humans were thankful that they had dodged on time. Being eaten alive by such beings means no ways to survive.

“Attack now!” Commanded the old marshal.

It was a split second decision and the command was executed well. Both the soldiers and the assassins worked together as they fought. Even Long Juedi and Long Teng were attacking the adults.

“Jue’er, don’t ask your support fairy to fight. We need her to focus on healing after,” said t old marshal, Long Huang.

Long Juedi just backed away from the sand worm and said, “I understand, Grandpa!”

“What are you brat doing? Your small sword and weak strength can’t directly cut that monster’s skin like the adults. Attack the vitals. The eyes! Eyes!” Shouted Pavilion Master Xie Yun to his temporary disciple, Long Teng.

Long Teng complained, “Old man, I can’t reach it! I can’t fly!”

“Are you stupid? Ask your beast to throw you up to reach it,” retorted Pavilion Master Xie Yun.

Long Teng murmured, “Oh? That is indeed an option.”

Not far from them they didn’t notice another detached group led by Third or Shadow, an assassin that serves the young lord of the Pei Clan, Pei Jin. The group he leads had been following this group trying to find an opening to instantly kill the master of the Killer Pavilion, Xie Yun.

However, he didn’t expect the members of the Long Clan to be here as well and narrowed his eyes at them staring with an indifferent look.

“Long Huang. Long Juedi and Long Teng. Three direct members of the Long Clan.”

“However, I cannot kill all of them. Long Juedi is my master’s rival. I cannot touch him. That old man is hard to catch off guard but if I succeed it would be a huge plus point from the young lord.”

His subordinate answered, “The Former Elf King, Vegarus von Ambrosia.”

“That man is one of the few men in this world that is impossible to assassinate. He can talk to the wind and even listen to people even if he is faraway. If he had indeed appeared then there is no wonder the mission had failed,” said Shadow.

“However, I don’t believe that the young lord would give that easily. Anyway, focus on the current mission. We can’t fail as well,” he said.

His subordinates behind responded, “Yes.”

They’ve all dispersed leaving only Shadow lingering for the distant for a moment and also disappearing somewhere. “Quiet, Teng-ge. According to the list the seniors gave me before there should be a treasure hidden this way. I was told to pick it up myself. If there are two, I will give you one, okay?” Long Juedi said as he pleaded to his cousin.

Long Teng said, “You?!”

“If it gets dangerous I will drag you back with me!” Long Teng said. “Which way is it?”

“Here… This way…” Long Juedi said as the two of them sneaked around.

Unknown to them Xie Yun the Pavilion Master of the Killer Pavilion noticed their behaviour and murmured,

“What the hell are these brats planning again?” He had no choice but to tail the two troublesome brats.
