After learning that the death of his grandfather had something to do with Pei Jin, Long Juedi who is usually mild tempered couldn’t help but shout words that involved killing. In his eyes, this Pei Jin is just a madman who kills for fun and for some reason he is targeting his Long Clan. However, even if he wanted to do something he is simply too weak to make a move.
Unfortunately, his opponent is different. Now that Pei Jin intended to kill him, Long Juedi had nothing he could do to protect himself. His uncle, Long Kian, and his elder cousin tried to protect him with their bodies.
Pei Jin just finds this scene laughable. He sneered at this scene. However, deep inside of his heart there is a time when he yearns for the same family love. Sadly, all he got was malice from his step mother who killed his mother and disdain from his step siblings. His father doesn’t care about him and ignores him, who was weak and bullied by the rest of the family members.
The Pei Clan is a cold hearted clan who emphasize more on talent than bloodline. In this family, only the strong had the right to ask for more while the weak can only remain obscure. They are completely opposite of a loving family like the Long Clan.
Maybe because Pe Jin and Long Juedi had lived a completely different life that their ending was different as well. One became a villain who can only kill to get what he wanted while the other had to get stronger to protect his loved ones. In the eyes of Pei Jin, Long Juedi is just a spoiled brat who was born with everything. That’s why he hated him so much in their past life. Everything he couldn’t have this person have it.
In their previous life, the death of the old marshal, the current marshal and the rest of Long Juedi’s family members is not done by Pei Jin. They died because that’s what they are fated to be. It was just that he had fallen in love with the heroine, Haerin, that’s why he went against Long Juedi. There is also the fact that their beasts were meant to clash.
Long Juedi is destined to have light attributed beasts as the protagonist while he only has Ouroboros who is the only known demonic beast. In his previous life no one knew that the Pavilion Master, Xie Yun, was a demonic beast. As the latter had no way to return to his beast form and his master never woke up and they never recognized each other after Xie Hei was reborn as a Beast King.
Branded as a beast tamer who controlled a demonic beast, Pei Jin who wanted to get the love of the heroine betrayed the human race and sided with the beast race. He caused the downfall of the main city. It’s just in this life, he had become a true villain who had caused all the deaths that were meant to happen naturally.
Now even killing Long Juedi early was his decision alone. Living one lifetime is tiring. Much less living a bad life all over again. Even though this time he wasn’t bullied much, and he had killed everyone from the Pei Clan except himself. The loneliness of being the only one in this world is simply too much for Pei Jin. That’s why he was willing to take drastic measures to remove this loneliness and boredom in his heart.
Pei Jin was about to command the death of Long Juedi and have the undead kill him.
“Undead do—Cough!“
Caught off guard he didn’t notice that someone had sneaked behind him and stabbed him from behind. Ouroboros also didn’t take this human seriously as he is a God that would overlook ants under his line of sight. It’s not like his master can die with him being contracted with his godly self that’s why he didn’t inform Pei Jin as well.
“W-What?” Pei Jin felt pain in his chest because he didn’t feel like he was dying.
The one who stabbed him is none other than Long Tian who had just arrived and witnessed the scene of short exchange of words between his son, Long Juedi and this little devil, Pei Jin. When he heard that this little bastard wanted to kill his son, without any hesitation he wanted to kill Pei Jin before he could make a move.
Long Tian said, “You cannot kill my son! You damn devil!!!”
Long Juedi and the rest didn’t expect for Long Tian to appear here except for Beastman Heri who had foreseen the death of this marshal.
“Dad!?” Long Juedi calls.
Heri panicked for another reason. “Get away! He is the cause of your death!”
Long Tian heard the voice of the only adult beastman in the crowd with his son and recognized him as the prophet of the Beastman Race as well as the biological brother of the Beastman leader, Hezi.
The marshal warned, “Back away!”
Pei Jin looks at Heri and finally recognizes him as one of the fathers of the Heroine, the prophet of the Beastmen Race, Heri. He is supposed to be dead the day his existence in the main city was exposed and be killed by the marshal of the human race. But in the end, he and his partner, the former king of elves survive thanks to the direct interference of Mo Minkong, the Beast God.
Pei Jin had always thought that it was weird for the beast god guarding the Barren Land’s core region to appear in the human city. He just thought that the changes in the plotline was a butterfly effect of his rebirth. The existence of a prophet is an annoyance as regardless of how the future changes he can see it as well.
Pei Jin’s thoughts upon seeing Heri: ’This prophet must be killed or he would be annoying in the future.’
Ouroboros, who heard his thoughts, asked, “Do you want me to do it?”
’No. You cannot be exposed for now. I will kill him myself!’
“Undead. Kill all the living in the area!” Pei Jin commanded.
The undead who was at standby without doing anything had finally started moving and ran towards the scent where the living was. Upon seeing this, the adults continue to push the struggling children to the ancient forest. Even though Ouroboros didn’t appear, he had made a move and controlled the darkness which is the closest element to his power. The small opening in the wooden wall was suddenly blocked by some kind of gray film which prevented others from escaping.
“Huh? The door is blocked by something!”
“I can’t enter! Stop pushing!”
“He must have done something. I need to ask the help of the elder shamans!” Heri said as he used a flare which his race used to call for reinforcement. He uses red to signify an emergency.
The former elf king, Vega took the vanguard with Long Kian protecting the others behind.
“Don’t move and stay behind us!”
Vega used his bow and added wind elemental and natural energy in it. He raised it pointing towards the sky and what followed afterwards is a rain of wind arrows and natural energy that accelerated growth on the land purifying the taint the undead had brought. There are at least a hundred of arrows in that attack and was enough to impede the march of the undead in their group. He also took the highest point and pointed an arrow at Pei Jin who was fighting with Pei Jin.
Pei Jin felt the incoming danger towards him and dodge while blocking the attack of the marshal. He is annoyed how he is besieged like this with just two people.
Pei Jin shouted, “Dammit! You damn fake elf! You should be dead together with that prophet!!”
“Hah! It’s not possible for you to kill them. They are family with the Beast God from the Barren Land,” The Marshal said as he tried his best to kill this brat.
For some reason, despite the young and immature vessel of the latter, it possessed a lot of strength and could even overwhelm him with power. Because of this, he had to concentrate not to fall among the undead or to get blasted away by this boy’s attack.
“Argh! You guys are so annoying!” Shouted Pei Jin who was so annoyed that he couldn’t understand why can’t kill them as easily as those useless bastards of the Pei Clan.
“Shadow! Help me kill this old man!”
This command allowed Shadow who was hiding in his master’s shadow to appear and started fighting with the marshal working together with Pei Jin. Those who were on the ground were still fighting against the undead and couldn’t help the marshal.
Long Kian shouted in anger, “Unfair! Two vs. One!”
“Do not think that only shadow is my subordinate!” Pei Jin summoned the other undead kings.
Now with another two Undead Kings and shadow working to fight against Long Tian they are finally able to suppress him. Of course! They left the last attack which is the killing one to their master.
“DAD!!” Long Juedi shouted as he saw Pei Jin stabbed his dad multiple times on the chest.
