Chapter 1973: 24.234 Sixth Violet Star – Plan for the evening.
After the nightfall, the leader of the beastmen, Lord Huzi, decided to lead the assassination. He plans to bring mostly his tribe members and a few of the elves who can control the dark element. Even if they couldn’t bring a support mage like the elves, they had their own ways to hide their scent and breathing. This is something his youngest son had made for fun. The only reason he is including the elves is so they will not feel left out by his leadership. As for the dwarfs, they move too slow and choose not to be included in this operation.
Lord Huzi had spoken to the elves and the dwarfs after planning the assassination of the Beast race’s commander.
“The plan for tonight is to kill the beast commander from the barren lands. In short, we will sneak into the enemy’s barrack and kill their head. Only a minimal number of people will come with me. Two from the beastmen race and three from the elven race. As for the dwarf race, standby in the borders. Tomorrow, it will be your turn to fight upfront.” The Beastmen Leader, Huzi, said.
Among the beastmen, those who can high their presence well and had advantage with speed was chosen. It wasn’t that hard as Lord Huzi knew their abilities well. The one who was chosen is a female adult black panther beastman. She excels in hiding her presence in the darkness and has the speed to outrun ordinary beasts. The second one is a chameleon beastman who is the best at hiding its presence. Unless you are someone who can see through souls, it is almost impossible to catch a beastman chameleon in his camouflage mode.
As easy the beastmen were chosen, the side of the elves were having a hard time choosing. The dark element was something their race usually hated the most. They considered it as an evil element and most of these elves were discriminated against. It’s the same as how they were suddenly sent here to the frontline to fight for their lives while most noble elves remained in their territory.
Lord Huzi was observing a discriminated group among the elves. Elves were born loved by the elements and due to this, their compatibility with the elements appears on themselves in a form of a body feature. For example, a wind elemental tamer, possessed emerald colored irises, the darker the shade it is the more powerful the elemental is.
The former elven king, Vega, is said to possess the most emerald like eyes as he was protected by the Elemental Emperor of the Wind, Greene, even before he was chosen to become the king. It’s just that his tribe is unable to accept his beloved Heri, that he had chosen to separate from them and returned his position as the king.
So elves born with dark element compatibility either have a tanned skin or black hair. They were hated due to the evil shade of their features. Lord Huzi was annoyed by the Elven King, Valerian. He is the complete opposite of the calm and competent former king, Vega, who is his brother-in-law. The current elf king is the source of all discrimination and also the reason why the alliance until now didn’t have full trust towards one another. After all, who would trust a man who looks down on you the most?
As he expected, the ones who were pushed out by the Elven leader of the group were those with tanned skin and black hair.
“Lord Huzi, these guys will do the mission you have in plan. Do make use of them well.” A blonde haired elf with blue eyes said.
The Beastmen Leader didn’t look at him that much and just gave him a nod. “My mate, Mo Minkong, will handle the leader position while I am not around.”
The elf leader wanted to say something but with a cold glance from Lord Huzi they immediately shut their mouths and cursed at him in silence.
Lord Huzi glanced at the three elves who were hiding their features and said, “You three come with me to my office. The other two from my tribe as well. I will tell you the details of the mission.”
After leaving the hall where the others are, the elven leader who was smiling at Lord Huzi before had completely lost his smile. This two faced bastard looked creepy as his smile faded and his look was full of disdain.
“Tsk!
A mere halfbreed of the unknown speaks as if he is a leader of our elven race. If not for the king saying we are here to make numbers who would even come here.”
It was unknown to him that the ears of the beastmen and the nearby dwarfs had overheard his whispering. The latter just frowned as if they were used to such a bad personality of the elven race. On the other hand, the other beastmen were unable to hold back their anger and confronted this long ear bastard who dared to insult their tribe leader.
“Long ear monster. What did you just say about our leader just now!?”
“To think there is someone who dares to insult our leader to our face. Maybe we have been too kind towards others lately.”
“For a coward who is even too afraid of doing a simple assassination mission, why don’t you just go back and suck your mama’s milk~”
The rough language of the beastmen made the elves who talk about elegance everyday enraged. They felt insulted by these brutes whose bloodline is impure and whose existence was something the elven race the most.
“What the hell did you say, you brute!?”
“Who are you calling weaklings? My elemental can easily defeat you bastards!”
“Such an uneducated way of talking.”
“As expected to the race with savage beast blood.”
“Even after mixing your blood with humans, a hideous race like you are born.”
The Beastmen race and the Elven race were about to brawl in the hall, when suddenly they collectively fell on the ground face first and heard a cold yet commanding voice reside in the hall.
Beast God, Mo Minkong, said, “The military had issued new laws for martial times. First, merits will be given to every counted beast skill and will be recorded by the watch in your wrists.”
“”Merits can be exchanged in the online market. You can use it to buy necessities, weapons, potions, anything is possible. This includes the permission to return to the city.”
“You can also check the accumulated points in your watch. You can try it first and rest afterwards. Tomorrow, the battle will definitely be rougher”
When the last sentence was mentioned a lot of them perked their ears up for more information. As for the two groups who were pressured by the aura, they are now able to move again after the aura faded. Beast God Mo Minkong gave the problem groups a warning before leaving the hall to find his wife. He had already deployed a temporary defensive formation around this part of the border and let the soldiers take a proper rest for this evening.
Once he had left, everyone checked on the wrist watch distributed to them before they were dispatched to this place. A martial law was activated in the alliance city and thus, the old rules were temporarily replaced by the current one to match the situation. Disubordinate against your superior is punishable by death. The moment the elves read this part, their faces turned cold as if their blood were drained from their bodies. They should be thankful that Lord Huzi pretended not to hear their comment, if he didn’t and he killed them even the elven king would not be able to protect them.
The current laws were something the rulers had decided and approved themselves. That’s why they couldn’t complain to their Elf King, as it is something approved by him as well.
“Going against the command of your superior or the commander will be punished by a thousand cuts!”
In war, one mistake in following commands will lead to hundreds of deaths and it’s no different than massacre when failed. That means if the elves do not listen to the command of Lord Huzi and Beast God Mo Minkong, they are allowed to execute them on the spot. This greatly terrified the elves who looked down to almost everyone except for their own kind.
The Elf Leader from before was stunned as he mumbles with despair, “This… can’t be happening!”
—
Back to the commander’s office…
Lord Huzi had summoned the other five who would join him to the assassination mission he had in mind. But before he starts the discussion, his eyes lingers at the three elves who are covered from head to toes with a cloak.
The leader of the Beastman race, Huzi, looked at the hooded elves and said, “We are in a meeting. Remove your cloaks and show me your faces.”
Lord Huzi noticed the three elves trembling under his voice and realized what was happening. These three must have suffered a lot of discrimination from their own tribe. This is most likely to the features that didn’t fit the elves’ tradition and way of thoughts. They are afraid of being looked down upon.
Sigh~
“Don’t worry. My race doesn’t discriminate against one because of one’s appearance.” Lord Huzi said.
