After the mission was completed, The five who had left the barren lands ahead of time are now looking at the fierce blaze in that location where they had come from. They had seen the appearance of Lord Huzi’s real form biting the head off of the huge python they saw sleeping before. It was done in an instant and they knew that their lord had succeeded in killing the current beast commander. As soon as they saw the flare appearing in the sky, all five of them gathered and left the area ahead of time. This is under the order of their commander, Lord Huzi.
Looking at the burning area which is pretty obvious at night. The five of them were watching that area burn with complicated expressions on their faces. They had killed as many beasts as they could. They wanted to take revenge for the deaths of the soldiers at the borders before they had arrived to support them. Even though they wanted to kill all the beasts in that place, they lacked the time, number and skills to do so.
However, they completed their mission by killing almost all the lord and king-grade beasts in that area. Just in case they also destroyed the place where their food and weapons are stored. Though they felt it’s a waste of food to do so, it is better to destroy it than give the beast race the chance to regain their strength through eating. The five of them were riding on some kind of shadow summon as they headed back.
All of the sudden something fell on the sky and appeared behind one of the free spaces of the summon’s back. It was Lord Huzi who had returned to his humanoid form.
The Ninetailed Fox Beastman said, “You’ve done well. I will give you the merits you’ve earned for this mission. This merit is non-transferrable and also gives you a promotion from second lieutenant to first lieutenant. Regardless of your standing in your own race, in the military, the one with higher standing cannot be insulted by someone lower ranked than you are. You can punish them as you will. I will step in if your ruler is unreasonable.”
These were words for the three dark elves to hear. As for the two beastmen, they get along with their tribe well and with the presence of their leader, there is no way they will let themselves get bullied by the other race.
The sun was starting to rise when they had returned to the borders. As expected Beast God Mo Minkong was waiting for them at the gates and even opened the gates for their arrival. The five subordinates who left with Lord Huzi had saluted towards the beast god.
“We greet the Lord Beast God!”
“Be at ease. You guys have done well. Go back to your rooms and rest. You will be given a room per pair as you are promoted a rank higher. Come to the assembly later in the morning and your rewards shall be announced for the completion of your mission.” Lord Beast God Mo Minkong said.
Leader of the Beastmen race, Lord Huzi, added, “Good work, everyone! You can go ahead and return.”
The five of them had bowed their heads before leaving with the senior soldiers who will send them to their room and give them their uniform and new badges. The five people were delighted by such a reward and felt that as long as they collected more merits, when they returned to the city their lives would be turned for the better.
After the five had left, Beast God Mo Minkong carried his mate back to their room. For some reason, Lord Huzi upon returning suddenly felt lethargic. But when Mo Minkong checked through his wife, he found nothing that caused this unknown fatigue.
In their room, Mo Minkong gently placed his wife on the bed and looked at him worriedly.
He asked, “Wife, how are you feeling?”
“Don’t worry. I will be alright. But… There is something weird going on in the barren land. I did not reach the core region, but both the inner and outer region felt strangely eerie. Do you remember that strange stone in our past life? The one that weakened you one time before.” Lord Huzi said, “I think a lot of it had been scattered in the barren land. It has restrained the Divine energy I have in my body. Making me sleepy.”
Beast God Mo Minkong frowned. He knew what that stone his mate was talking about. It was the stone that he had sunk under the sea in their previous life. He couldn’t understand why such a thing still existed after he had buried it under the water.
Mo Minkong said, “That is a power that isn’t supposed to exist in this world. It also has the power to contend against the Chaos Energy in my body. But I have disposed of all of those before. Who could have known…”
He then recalled about the Evil Beast God who was born recently. He recalled his youngest son saying before that this Evil Beast God is something that shouldn’t have been born and that he is supposed to be the only Beast God that exists in the barren land.
The Beast God realized something, “Is Ouroboros an outsider? He is a World Destroyer.”
“But husband, we do not have proof. Without proof those at the divine realm will not help us,” said Lord Huzi.
The divine realm Huzi is talking about is a detached world yet connected to their planet. It is where the divine beasts reside. It can be said that only Mo Minkong is the only one capable of going in that place. Maybe Huzi can also do so as he is now a demigod compared to his previous lives.
The Beast God, Mo Minkong, turned serious and said, “Don’t worry about it for now. Sleep. Next time stay away from that source of discomfort.”
Lord Huzi, affected by the Cosmos stones, immediately fell asleep. If he didn’t have the blessings of Ancient Lord Hunluan and the God of Destruction, he would have fallen into a deep coma and might never have woken up anymore. Mo Minkong watched his wife fall asleep and stood up to watch over the borders while his partner was asleep. The other rulers had agreed and had approved of you as the new ruler of the human race. Returning to the city is a temporary vacation and enthronement. Are you sure you don’t want to go?”

Mo Minkong added, “The Elven race wanted to back away from the war. There is a big problem within their tribe right now. As for the dwarven race, they are neutral. It was unknown when they would choose which side to join. My beastmen race is detached. Even if the beast race took over this city, they wouldn’t dare to touch the ancient forest because of me. The human race has no leader. Even if Long Juedi exists, he is far too young and that child doesn’t fit to be a marshal.”
“He is fit to fight in the frontlines and he is a lot more powerful than I am. However, he is too young and the Long clan has suffered enough already.” General Gu Ying said.
The general suddenly looked at the Beast god before him and asked, “I shall accept your command to return to the city but… there is one thing I want to ask. Did your two sons disappear or will they only appear if this world is ending.”
The Beast God Mo Minkong didn’t respond, instead he just smiled. It was unknown what is the true meaning behind this smile.
