Chapter 1985: 24.246 Sixth Violet Star – Meeting gone wrong.
Before the traitors of the alliance made a move.
Without the rulers that lead the Beastmen race in the city, the authority of the alliance city had mostly fallen on the Elf King, Valerian and the Dwarf King Garan. They were tasked to handle the training for the next batch of warriors, tamers and soldiers which would soon be transferred to the borders for the ongoing war. While the dwarfs were tasks for the making of weapons and armors for the people at the borderland. However, unlike the two, Huzi and Beast God Mo Minkong who had stepped in the battlefield, the situation of these two rulers was safer.
They were tasked to protect the city and kept it running even without the other rulers around. The two rulers were doing well until General Gu Ying and his group had finally reached the city. They were surprised by the sheer numbers of the dead and the injured ones. It can be said that the number of the injured people was quite big. But compared to the dead ones, they are still a lot better. After all, those who had died can only return as dead bodies to their families.
What made it worse is the ones who were mostly dead were the soldiers from the human race. When these bodies were returned to their families with compensation, the sadness cannot help but spread in the city. It only calmed down after a few days. What came next was the execution of the traitor, Mu Liao and the promotion of General Gu Ying as a marshal.
However, before the human race could celebrate the new marshal’s promotion, a few leaders from the nobles, the other districts which include the regions of the elven and dwarf race suddenly caused chaos in the city. Countless small groups, clans, and family revolt and started killing anyone in the way. The new warehouse that housed not only food but also weapons were taken over by these people causing the whole city to fall into another state of emergency.
It was only then that the people of the alliance realized that these people were part of the alliance and betrayed them for the sake of the Evil Beast God they were revered. The Elf King Valerian and Dwarf King Garan as well as the newly enthroned ruler the human race had gathered for a meeting. With Marshal Gu Ying officially attending the gathering, the two kings welcome him back.
“Congratulations upon becoming the new marshal of the Human race.” Dwarf King Garan said to Marshal Gu Ying. “You have also done well with the execution of the last marshal.”
“Thank you. I am only doing what I am supposed to do,” said Marshal Gu Ying.
On the other hand, the mood of the Elven King was not good. Among those who he had sent in the borders the leader he had personally chosen had returned. Then he heard the situation from this kin of his who had twisted the words as he reported what happened to him at the borders. He lied saying that the rulers of the beastmen race, Lord Huzi and Beast God, Lord Mo Minkong had discriminated against him by taking the side of those dark elves and sending him away. Of course, the Dwarf King Garan felt that this elf was too sketchy and his words seemed to be full of holes. It is obvious that this elf was lying but the current king of elves, Valerian seems to choose to believe him.
“Your majesty, please seek justice for this kin of yours. The rulers of the beastmen race had dismissed me for no reason and even sided with those cursed dark elves!”
“He didn’t even care when I mentioned the esteemed name of the king and even wanted to kill me. They were saying that it was the military laws and they had the power to remove him from my position which was bestowed to me by the king!”
“Your majesty! You must save this poor elf of yours!”
Dwarf King Garan said, “During the war, the laws at the borders were different from the ones at the city and at the borderland. Military rules are implemented to keep the border in order.”
“There is no way you would be dismissed like this. You must have done something that is against the military laws!”
“Enough!” The Elven King Valerian seems to side with his kin for this problem and says to the elf. “Go back first. When the two have returned I will seek justice for you!”
The elf, as if already expecting this, was smiling as he thanked his king.
“Thank you, your majesty!” The elf said before taking his leave.
On the other hand the expression of the Dwarf King was ugly as he couldn’t believe what he had just witnessed. Clearly, the one in the wrong was the elf from before. He couldn’t understand the unreasonable action of the Elf King Valerian for sparing such a scrooge that looks down on his own people.
Dwarf King Garan said, “Valerian! Are you for real?! Have you forgotten what we had agreed in the last meeting!? During the war, the military law was…”
“Shut up!”

The table was slammed by the Elf King who was already enraged with what was happening adding the fact that the Beastmen race had taken over of the borders and let the current marshal to return, there is also opposition on the side of the elves. The discriminating attitude of the elves was implemented by the king in confrontation with them though everyone pretends not to notice it, they knew that Elf King Valerian despised all races aside of their own alone. Now that the two strongest rulers were not in the city, Elf King Valerian acting up was not a surprise. Marshal Gu Ying remained calm right from the beginning as if he was watching a play unfold before his eyes.
“Rules. Rules! Those are just dumb rules that only those dirty mixed breeds and weaklings had implemented! The human race, those tainted dark elves, or those half beast half human trash didn’t know their place!”
“The elven race is the strongest. With the support of the Elemental King we are supposed to stand above all races. So what if a kin of mine speaks bluntly towards those useless bastards! Fawning at that damn fox and kicking out my people. Do they look down on me!?”
“I am the king of elves. Those lowly beings should just let us bully them. That much is all they are worth!”
Gloomy. The King of Dwarfs frowned at the words of the Elf King. Though the Elf King had poisonous tongue he wouldn’t have openly spoken in such a manner. Dwarf King Garan believes that there is something wrong with the current Valerian.
“What the hell is wrong with you? Are you hearing your words properly? We are at war! Don’t tell me you wanted to start a coup d’etat? That will be the end of this city if you do such a thing!” Dwarf King Garan bellowed and finally sought some support from the new Marshal.
The Dwarf King Garan looked at Marshal Gu Ying seeking for help but was dumbfounded by what he was seeing. He didn’t know when the contracted beast of Marshal Gu Ying had come out. But such a hideous figure doesn’t look like a beast at all. It looks more like a monster. Moreover this monster gave him an extremely dangerous feeling which made Garan look at Marshal Gu Ying vigilantly. He can clearly see some kind of black line connected to his hideous beast coming from the Elf King Valerian. The sudden outburst of the Elf King, the Dwarf King finally found the cause of it.
Dwarf King Garan asked, “You!!? Who the hell are you!?”
Keeping his distance from Marshal Gu Ying, the King of Dwarf Garan immediately knew that this new Marshal is not a good thing. He can definitely not mistake Gu Ying for something else. This is indeed Gu Ying then that means what change is his real position or identity. One thing came to mind of the king of dwarfs.
The Dwarf King Garan asked, “Are you one of the hidden traitors within the alliance?!”
The Marshal remained emotionless and aloof, he said, “So what if I am? I have gotten what I come for. As for you, you can go ahead and die now.”
A powerful slash of wind blade made flying towards the Dwarf King Garan instantly cutting him into two halves. A strong scent of blood spread in the room. The new marshal had killed the dwarf king and took control of the Elf King Valerian. He wanted to use this Elf King to cause chaos in the city. With him and the other traitors going crazy, he can do anything he wants.
“Valerian, I want you to command the elf race to attack the Ancient Forest where the Beastmen race resides. Do all means to kill the Beastmen from within,” said Marshal Gu Ying.
The King of Elves, Valerian, at this point had completely lost control of himself and become a puppet under Gu Ying’s control.
Seeing the current situation unfolding, Gu Ying took his leave to make some preparations from his side. The chaos in the city had started from here.
