Chapter 568: Chapter 454: Ice Coffin, Mysterious Man (Part 3)
What name should I give him~
Qin Tian studied the man and quickly focused on his ice-blue long hair, and a name instantly popped into his mind.
He pointed at the man’s hair and said with a smile, “Your hair is blue, how about I call you ’Lan’? It’s simple and memorable, and suits you well.”
“Lan.”
The man repeated softly, his voice quite light, then looked up at Qin Tian: “Alright, call me Lan.”
“Lan, my name is Qin Tian.” Qin Tian announced his name with a smile, fearing Lan might forget. He deliberately repeated it clearly in the Empire’s language.
“Qin — Tian.”
“Qin Tian.” Lan repeated it twice, this time using the standard Empire’s language, even though his tone was still somewhat stiff, each word was clear.
He looked at Qin Tian, his deep blue pupils reflecting the image of the other, and nodded earnestly: “Qin Tian, I remember.”
“Let me help you up first.” Qin Tian said, walking forward slowly, extending his right hand towards Lan.
His actions were gentle, but his body was secretly tense.
Even though Lan currently seemed non-threatening, since nothing was known about his background, the first physical contact required utmost caution. If there was any sign of anomaly, he could withdraw and defend immediately.
Lan looked at Qin Tian’s offered hand, a hint of hesitation flashing in his eyes. He seemed unfamiliar with the act of “touch,” paused for two seconds, and then slowly raised his hand to gently hold Qin Tian’s palm.
The sensation was cool to the touch, yet not biting like ice, rather like a piece of warm jade, carrying a subtle chill that spread slowly through the palm.
Qin Tian’s senses tensed to the extreme, closely monitoring Lan’s soul’s fluctuations and physical reactions.
Fortunately, Lan merely used Qin Tian’s strength, without making any extra movements, even his fingertips were slightly stiff with caution.
With Qin Tian’s support, Lan slowly stepped out of the ice coffin.
Perhaps due to the prolonged slumber, his body was still very weak, and he stumbled when he first touched the ground, almost falling. Fortunately, Qin Tian tightened his arm just in time, firmly supporting his arm.
Lan lowered his head, his long eyelashes falling, revealing his calves’ slight tremble, clearly not fully accustomed to standing and walking.
“Take it slowly, no rush.” Qin Tian softened his tone, not urging him.
He understood that a person who had been asleep for who knows how many years needed time for their body functions to recover, much like someone rising from a sickbed for the first time, they had to go through a period of adjustment.
Lan nodded, using Qin Tian’s support, cautiously taking his first step.
The step was light, even wobbling at first, but he quickly stabilized his figure, and subsequently took a second and third step.
Gradually, his steps became more steady, and the trembling in his calves disappeared. Although his movements remained slow, he could now walk independently.
Seeing this, Qin Tian quietly released his hand, stepping back half a step beside him, maintaining a safe observation distance, ready to catch him if he became unstable.
The two walked side by side to the palace entrance, where Lan stopped, gazing at the sprawling white forest outside the hall — the trees hung with blue crystals glowed faintly under the barrier’s light, as the breeze passed through the branches, the crystals gently collided, making a subtle sound.
Watching this scene, Lan’s gaze gradually grew distant.
Qin Tian keenly noticed a slight ripple in his soul’s fluctuations, as if some sealed memory was gently stirred.
“What’s the matter? Did you remember something?” Qin Tian asked softly.
Lan didn’t respond immediately, just stared at the forest, after a while, he slowly shook his head, his voice tinged with uncertainty: “I don’t know… it just feels like I’ve seen a similar place somewhere…”
As his words fell, the disorientation in his eyes faded again, as if the momentary stir was an illusion, the memory fragments like sand slipping through fingers, escaping just as they were grasped.
“Don’t rush, this is just the beginning.”
Qin Tian reassured him, “The more things you see in the future, the more you’ll remember who you really are.”
Upon hearing this, Lan nodded lightly.
“Mm, thank you.”
Qin Tian smiled: “It’s nothing~”
It seemed, he was quite a polite mysterious person after all.
