Chapter 569: Chapter 455: The Arrival of the Polar Night
Outside the palace, a gentle breeze swept through the forest, carrying the unique cool scent of Ice Crystals, causing the blue crystals on the branches to gently sway.
“Ding-ling—ding-ling—”
The crisp clashing sound echoed like wind chimes, particularly melodious in the serene Secret Realm, where fragmented light and shadow passed through the crystals, weaving a dreamy blue mosaic on the ground.
Qin Tian’s gaze fell on the Cold Trees laden with crystals, turning to Lan beside him: “Lan, can I take some of these trees with me?”
Lan tilted his head in slight puzzlement, his azure eyes full of confusion:
“Of course you can take them; why ask me?”
In his understanding, this Secret Realm and these trees were all unfamiliar environments. He had no concept of “ownership” and didn’t understand why Qin Tian sought his opinion specifically.
Qin Tian chuckled and patiently explained: “I guess this Secret Realm is most likely related to you, so these trees would naturally be considered yours. If I want to take someone else’s belongings, I must get the owner’s permission. That’s a basic rule.”
“Are these mine?”
Lan muttered softly, his gaze turning even more bewildered.
He looked again at the Cold Trees, trying to search his memory for fragments related to these trees, but his mind remained blank.
Eventually, he gently shook his head: “You can take as many as you want. I don’t care.”
To him, unraveling who he truly was at this moment outweighed everything else. These trees, the Secret Realm, all seemed like inconsequential backdrops, leaving him without any attachment.
“In that case, I won’t hold back.”
Qin Tian said with a smile, looking up at the expanse of Cold Trees below.
He slowly lifted his hands, palms glowing with a faint silver light. The Power of Void spread like ripples over a calm lake, gradually extending towards the forest.
“Crack—crack—”
As the Power of Void enveloped them, some Cold Trees began to sway lightly, the soil at their roots quietly loosening, and tiny cracks appeared on the Ice Crystal ground.
Next, the selected Cold Trees slowly lifted from the ground, emerging with their frozen root soil and the crystals on their branches, as if invisible hands were lifting them skyward.
The blue crystals on the branches clashed, producing a “crash” sound, as if accompanying this “relocation.”
Qin Tian wasn’t greedy, choosing only a tenth of the Cold Trees—fully aware that these trees were essential for maintaining the Secret Realm’s barrier, he knew that taking them all could cause the Secret Realm to collapse.
With these tree species, and leveraging the Talent of the Sovereign of the Verdant Wilds, he could rapidly cultivate and propagate them at Ice Extreme Pass, soon forming a grove.
Beside him, Lan quietly watched, a hint of curiosity replacing some of his confusion, as if gaining a new perspective on the man named Qin Tian before him.
“Collect!”
Qin Tian called out, clenching his hand firmly.
A vast Gate of Space slowly unfolded in the sky, pale blue spatial waves expanding outward, and those floating Cold Trees, like guided comets, surged neatly into the Gate of Space, transferring to Yang Space.
Once the last Cold Tree entered the Gate of Space, Qin Tian gradually retracted his power, and the Gate of Space closed.
“Done!”
A smile appeared on Qin Tian’s face.
Once these Cold Trees were transplanted to Ice Extreme Pass, not only could they provide a stable energy supply, but as the cultivation scaled up, the blue crystals could be sold externally, creating substantial profit for Ice Extreme Pass.
Considering the time, he had taken office for less than two days and already found such a stable source of funds and energy for his domain. As a Guardian Envoy, he thought he could proudly give himself a score of 90.
Qin Tian turned to look at Lan, who stood quietly, speaking in a gentle tone:
“Lan, now that we’re mostly done here, shall I take you outside? Perhaps seeing the environment outside will trigger some of your memories.”
“Okay.” Lan nodded softly.
For him, every new environment brought an additional possibility of retrieving his memories, so he naturally wouldn’t resist.
Qin Tian focused his thoughts, first quietly leaving a spatial coordinate in the Secret Realm, then opening a half-human-height Gate of Space before him.
Glancing at Lan, he stepped in first, with Lan following closely, their figures disappearing instantly from the Secret Realm.
When they reappeared, they stood upon the icy plains.
The biting cold wind howled past, swirling the ground’s snow, slapping against them with an icy sting.
Looking up, the sky was gradually dimming; the night of Mingwang Planet was about to descend, distant ice peaks outlined in the twilight, leaving the world in a vast expanse of white snow, exceptionally vast and desolate.
Lan stood on the ice field, his azure eyes reflecting the swirling snow, as if frozen in place, standing motionless.
His gaze swept past distant ice peaks and fell to the snow at his feet, as if trying to capture fleeting fragments in his mind, yet failing to grasp any clues.
Qin Tian didn’t disturb him, merely waiting quietly by his side. After a long while, he asked softly: “Lan, have any memories come back to you?”
Lan slowly withdrew his gaze, shook his head, a flash of undisguisable disappointment in his eyes, his voice lowering a notch:
“No… it felt like something was about to surface, but in the end, I still can’t remember anything.”
“Don’t worry, take it slow,” Qin Tian consoled, “Memory recovery takes time. We have many places to visit; surely one will help you recall the past.”
