I Really Am A Villain - Ch. 1732 - Apocalypse Earthworms

When Xu Zimo prepared to come to Three Corpse City, he brought Ouyang Xiu and Ji Zhan with him.
At first, he had not planned to take Ouyang Xiu along. After all, they had been strangers before, merely meeting by chance.
However, they had gone through some things together, and Ouyang Xiu wanted to see what Three Corpse City was like. The routes happened to align, and with Ouyang Xiu clinging stubbornly along the way, Xu Zimo did not mind in the end.
Three Corpse City seemed to exist solely because of the Three Corpse Burial Ground.
It was said that long ago, this city had been one of the oldest cities in the Grand Desolate Heaven.
Back then, before the Primal God Race ruled the entire Grand Desolate Heaven, the rulers of Three Corpse City were three ancient corpses left behind from the primordial era.
Speaking of the primordial era, it was the first age after the era of the Ancient Gods seeking the Dao.
At that time, the Primordial God-King achieved enlightenment at the God-Demon Abyss, thus ushering in the primordial era.
…
When they arrived before Three Corpse City, the enormous city radiated an ancient yet oppressive power.
The city had only one main gate.
To one side of the gate stood three eerie statues.
These were the Three Corpses of Three Corpse City.
The three statues looked terrifying and grotesque.
Even though they were only statues, many people passing through the gate dared not look directly at them and instead lowered their heads as they walked.
“Interesting,” Xu Zimo said as he looked at the three corpses.
From them, he felt an intense aura of death.
People often fear death, but when you truly delve into it, you come to understand more clearly that death itself is not that frightening.
“Let’s go inside,” Xu Zimo said.
“I wonder when the Three Corpse Burial Ground will open,” Ji Zhan said worriedly.
Xu Zimo, however, remained much calmer.
Not long ago, he had gone to the River of Fate again to look at Lin Ruhu’s thread of destiny.
He discovered that Lin Ruhu’s destiny line was no longer so vague and had begun to stabilize.
He knew that for the time being, Lin Ruhu should be fine.
After entering Three Corpse City, Xu Zimo saw countless tombstones.
Some were erected along the streets, others stood inside courtyards.
In short, Three Corpse City seemed inseparable from tombstones.
“Who’s buried in all these tombstones?” Ouyang Xiu asked curiously.
“They’re all powerful figures who died long ago,” Ji Zhan replied. He had been here before with Lin Ruhu.
“The tombstones are even older than Three Corpse City itself. It’s best for us to keep some distance from them. Some tombstones contain ominous things.”
“That place looks lively. Let’s go take a look,” Ouyang Xiu suddenly said.
Not far away, a large group of people were lining up, seemingly buying something.
When Xu Zimo and the others went over, they saw that the item being sold was a type of fishing bait called Apocalypse Earthworms.
“Why are you buying this stuff?” Ouyang Xiu asked curiously.
“You can tell you’re newcomers. You haven’t been to Three Corpse City before, have you?” someone said with a smile.
Ouyang Xiu replied, “We’ve only heard of it by reputation. This is our first time here.”
“I’ll tell you then. The Three Corpse Burial Ground is about to open. You know that, right?” the man said.
Ouyang Xiu quickly nodded.
“But the key to the Three Corpse Burial Ground hasn’t appeared yet, and no one knows how long it’ll take.”
“That’s how outsiders think,” the man laughed. “The key has to be found by us. Every year, the key appears in one of three places. Burial Sea, Azure Dragon Cave, or Beast Shrine. One of those three places will definitely have the key. Whoever gets it depends on luck.”
“These Apocalypse Earthworms are used to fish for the key in Burial Sea. I won’t chat anymore. I need to hurry over. I might miss it.”
Ouyang Xiu reported everything he had learned to Xu Zimo.
Xu Zimo nodded slightly.
“Then let’s go to Burial Sea. I’d like to try it myself.”
“I’ll go buy Apocalypse Earthworms,” Ji Zhan said immediately.
Moving quickly, the three bought the earthworms and headed for Burial Sea.
This sea had once been a place where corpses piled up.
Later, a black sea flooded in, burying the entire land beneath it.
From that point on, a type of demon fish began living in these waters.
These demon fish were strange creatures. They only ate Apocalypse Earthworms.
And they did not eat for free.
It was an almost equal exchange.
As long as you fished up a demon fish and it ate your Apocalypse Earthworm, it would retrieve an item from the depths of Burial Sea and give it to you.
…
At the shore of Burial Sea, countless people were already sitting quietly and fishing.
“No spots left,” Ouyang Xiu said helplessly after looking around.
“If there’s no spot, then take one,” Xu Zimo said.
“What if we offend someone?” Ji Zhan asked.
“With me here, what’s there to be afraid of?” Xu Zimo replied.
Ouyang Xiu and Ji Zhan nodded.
After all, even the ancient god Shebishi had been killed by Xu Zimo. There really was nothing to fear.
With that thought, the two walked over aggressively, like loyal lackeys.
They stopped in front of a youth who looked somewhat dull and honest.
When choosing someone to bully, you naturally pick the softest target.
“We’re taking this spot. If you know what’s good for you, get lost,” Ouyang Xiu shouted.
The dull youth slowly turned his head.
He clapped his hands, and in an instant, dozens of people gathered behind him.
They were all servants wearing green caps.
Each one radiated a strong aura and clearly looked well trained.
“What did you just say?” the dull youth asked, squinting his eyes.
Ouyang Xiu and Ji Zhan’s expressions changed slightly.
Despite carefully choosing their target, they had still kicked an iron plate.
People around them watched with interest.
“How amusing. Even the young master of the Qiongqi Gang gets provoked. Is this guy brainless?”
“Who doesn’t know the Qiongqi Gang is one of the strongest forces in Three Corpse City? They even have Infinite Dao cultivators sitting in command.”
Ouyang Xiu and Ji Zhan found themselves in an awkward position, unable to advance or retreat.
“Are you deaf?” Ji Zhan said, forcing himself to speak.
“Our boss wants this place. It belongs to us now.”
“Who does your boss think he is? Tell him to come out,” the dull youth sneered.
“I’m their boss. What, got a problem?” Xu Zimo walked over from the side.
He knew it was time for him to step in.
Otherwise, Ouyang Xiu and Ji Zhan were already at their limit and would not be able to hold on.
“Throw them all into Burial Sea to feed the fish,” the dull youth said impatiently, waving his hand.
He thought it was a waste of time. He had expected someone important, not three ignorant fools.
The next moment, thudding sounds rang out.
All the dozen green-capped servants behind him were thrown into Burial Sea.
They had no chance to resist.
Even the surrounding crowd had not yet reacted.
“You…” the dull youth exclaimed in shock.
In the next instant, Xu Zimo lifted the youth up slowly, as if grabbing a chicken.
“What the hell are you trying to do?!”
