I Really Am A Villain - Ch. 1734 - Direct Ascension To Infinite Dao

At the entrance of the Qiongqi Gang stood two enormous Qiongqi statues on either side.
The statues were lifelike, as if they possessed living souls.
Though they were stone carvings, the ferocious beastly aura emanating from them made anyone who looked feel instinctive fear.
At this moment, after Xu Zimo had killed several hundred people, the entrance of the Qiongqi Gang fell into dead silence. Only a few remaining gang members had already fled inside.
“Smash the gate,” Xu Zimo said calmly.
Ouyang Xiu immediately nodded.
Without any hesitation, he threw a punch.
Along with the Qiongqi statues, the main gate shattered completely.
“Zhang Fuye, stop hiding like a turtle. You won’t escape today.”
At this moment, the crowd heard a hoarse, low roar coming from deep within the Qiongqi Gang.
A vast beastly aura surged forth, tearing through the air.
“This is…” someone felt that terrifying pressure and his face changed drastically.
“I’ve heard that the Infinite Dao ancestor of the Qiongqi Gang is a real Qiongqi. Looks like it’s about to emerge this time.”
“A real Qiongqi, now that’s interesting. I wonder who’s stronger.”
Xu Zimo observed carefully. He could feel that a powerful presence inside was locking onto him, and Zhang Fuye was there as well.
Yet neither of them appeared.
“Go in,” Xu Zimo said indifferently.
“It seems they’re even more cowardly than I expected.”
Xu Zimo and the other two stepped into the Qiongqi Gang.
The crowd of onlookers surged in behind them like a flood.
Three Corpse City was enormous.
But under normal circumstances, few dared provoke the Qiongqi Gang.
They were one of the three major gangs in the city.
True local tyrants.
Even large external forces visiting Three Corpse City had to give them respect.
If the Qiongqi Gang were destroyed today, the entire power structure of Three Corpse City would be turned upside down.
The other two gangs were likely already stirring in secret, eager to carve up the Qiongqi Gang’s territory.
…
Once inside the Qiongqi Gang, it had to be said that this small gang was filthy rich.
Everywhere, buildings were constructed of gold and diamonds. Even golden springs could be seen flowing here and there.
Ouyang Xiu grabbed a few minor gang members and interrogated them about Zhang Fuye’s whereabouts.
Eventually, Xu Zimo reached the innermost area of the Qiongqi Gang.
There stood a grand hall.
The hall was ancient and archaic, clearly out of place, as if it had been transported from somewhere else.
Its entire structure was crimson red, like a sea of burning flames.
At the very top hung a plaque with two large characters: Qiongqi Hall.
The strokes of the characters were wild and unrestrained, brimming with beastly might.
Anyone with weak cultivation would struggle to withstand the aura alone.
The hall’s doors were tightly shut.
Ouyang Xiu and Ji Zhan attacked separately for a while, but neither could break the entrance.
“Interesting,” Xu Zimo said softly as he stepped forward.
He raised his hand.
A powerful flame law surged forth.
With a thunderous boom, dragon roars echoed through the air.
The flames fused into a fire dragon that slammed straight into the gate.
The overwhelming force destroyed everything in its path.
Boom, boom, boom.
After a brief resistance, the gate was completely shattered.
Only then did everyone see the scene behind it.
Inside was a sea of blood.
It was hard to imagine how many people had to be slaughtered to form such a vast blood sea.
Endless blood roared and churned within it.
It was impossible to guess what kind of existence lay inside.
And within that blood sea, a figure was sitting cross-legged.
The figure was submerged in blood, its aura growing stronger by the moment.
“That’s Zhang Fuye. It’s Zhang Fuye,” someone shouted.
“What’s going on? What is he doing?” someone asked in confusion.
The arrival of the crowd seemed to disturb him.
Zhang Fuye’s tightly shut eyes snapped open, blood-red light bursting forth from them.
“You’ve come,” he said with a faint smile.
But the smile felt sinister, full of malice.
“You’ve come to die,” Ouyang Xiu shouted.
The next instant, a beastly roar erupted from the blood sea.
A massive Qiongqi phantom emerged from within.
Its form was enormous, and its beastly might, carrying thick bloodlust, shot straight into the heavens.
However, something was strange.
The Qiongqi’s form was somewhat illusory, as if it were not a complete, real Qiongqi, but only a projection.
“You shouldn’t have come here. Originally, this matter could have ended here. Our Qiongqi Gang was willing to swallow this loss,” Zhang Fuye said calmly.
He slowly rose to his feet as the blood sea behind him surged endlessly.
“I thought it was an Infinite Dao powerhouse. Turns out it’s just a remnant soul,” Xu Zimo said with a disappointed shake of his head.
The Qiongqi before him was not a complete, true Qiongqi.
It was merely a fragment of its soul.
Zhang Fuye had slaughtered countless people to gather this sea of blood, all to nourish the Qiongqi in hopes of reviving it one day.
“Killing you is enough,” Zhang Fuye said, his gaze oppressive, like that of a beast.
“Great Lord Qiongqi, please bestow your power upon me.”
His tone was devout.
At this moment, he was treating his own body as a vessel for Qiongqi’s flesh, intending to absorb the remnant soul.
“This guy has completely lost his mind,” Ouyang Xiu said.
“Once the Qiongqi remnant soul enters his body, he’ll be taken over completely and reduced to a slave.”
“He must have been driven into a corner. Otherwise, he wouldn’t do something like this,” someone else remarked.
Boom, boom, boom.
As the blood sea churned violently, vast streams of blood poured into Zhang Fuye’s body.
The overwhelming power shook the surrounding void.
The entire Qiongqi Hall could not withstand the turbulence and collapsed on the spot.
At that moment, a deafening roar echoed.
The Qiongqi remnant soul howled as it fused completely with Zhang Fuye.
In an instant, terrifying might coiled around his body.
It surged skyward, Qiongqi flames burning the heavens and boiling the seas, strange phenomena appearing one after another.
“Kid, I should thank you for helping me find such a suitable body,” an ancient voice spoke from Zhang Fuye’s mouth.
At this moment, he was no longer Zhang Fuye.
It was Qiongqi’s consciousness.
The old voice continued, “Tell me, how do you want to die? As thanks, I can leave you a whole corpse.”
“A mere Qiongqi dares speak so arrogantly in front of me,” Xu Zimo laughed and shook his head. “I’ve killed plenty of true dragons and phoenixes from the heavens. Since you’ve provoked me today, I’ll teach you how to behave like a beast.”
Xu Zimo drew Shadow Tyrant.
Heaven-shaking blade momentum erupted, tearing the void apart as it slashed toward Zhang Fuye.
Zhang Fuye opened his mouth, and his teeth extended more than ten meters in length.
With a single bite, he swallowed all the blade energy whole.
