I Really Am A Villain - Ch. 1735 - Heading To Malefic Shrine

Zhang Fuye’s two arms swelled grotesquely, so thick that even his clothes burst apart.
His hands transformed as well, his fingernails stretching to a full meter in length, razor-sharp and gleaming.
Zhang Fuye let out a low roar and lunged straight at Xu Zimo.
His speed was astonishing, the sound of tearing air ringing out.
With a thunderous boom, the void shattered like tofu.
Xu Zimo raised Shadow Tyrant in front of him, blocking Zhang Fuye’s claws head-on.
“Kill!” Zhang Fuye roared.
Qiongqi flames ignited across his body.
“A defeated mongrel dares act arrogant before me?” Xu Zimo’s body erupted with blazing flames of his own.
He kicked out, sending Zhang Fuye flying.
“Absolute Annihilation God-Finger.”
Xu Zimo reached out with one hand.
Boom.
The void twisted violently, stirring up storms across the sky.
Zhang Fuye was blasted away once more.
“Come again,” Xu Zimo shouted lightly.
Earth-shaking power surged through his body, strength so overwhelming it seemed capable of destroying everything.
Zhang Fuye spewed raging flames from his mouth.
The fire could burn anything, as if all things in the world were fuel for its blaze.
“You’re still not enough,” Xu Zimo snorted coldly.
He tore open the sky with one hand, Shadow Tyrant’s blade energy raised high.
“Nine Hells Desolation.”
Billions of ghosts roamed, hell manifested.
Countless visions filled the heavens and earth, as though they were about to drag Zhang Fuye into the depths of hell itself.
This was a blade of pure intent.
By the time one realized what was happening, death had already arrived.
Zhang Fuye did not die so easily.
But when the visions faded, he lay on the ground, his body covered in wounds.
“You deserve to die,” Zhang Fuye spat blood as he struggled to speak.
Holding Shadow Tyrant, he stepped toward Zhang Fuye.
“Remember this face. Maybe in your next life, you’ll learn to see clearly,” Xu Zimo said calmly.
As his words fell, he raised Shadow Tyrant high and brought it down in a heavy slash.
This strike did not just sever flesh.
It destroyed the opponent’s soul, divine spirit, and life-death essence.
Infinite Dao cultivators were notoriously hard to kill.
But the power of someone at the same realm was still overwhelmingly destructive.
If one truly wished to kill, there was nothing in this world that could not be slain.
At last, as Zhang Fuye let out a furious, unwilling roar, Shadow Tyrant descended.
Boom.
A massive head rolled across the ground.
Zhang Fuye likely died with eyes wide open in disbelief.
The Qiongqi’s soul was grievously injured and began to dissipate bit by bit.
Its furious roars echoed through the sky, growing weaker and weaker until they vanished entirely.
Many who witnessed this scene sighed in shock.
“Such a massive force, destroyed just like that.”
“That’s how the cultivation world is. Ever-changing and unpredictable. Who dares claim they’ll never fall? Even the sun sets eventually. No matter how powerful a faction is, once it provokes someone it cannot afford to offend, destruction follows.”
Xu Zimo ignored the surrounding chatter.
He turned to Ji Zhan and Ouyang Xiu and said, “Let’s go to the Malefic Shrine.”
The Malefic Shrine was also one of the treasured lands of Three Corpse City.
It was similar to the Burial Sea, but far more dangerous.
Every year, thousands upon thousands died there.
Even so, people never stopped going.
The risks were immense, but the rewards from the Malefic Shrine were equally astonishing.
Many were willing to gamble their lives.
The Burial Sea lay to the north of Three Corpse City, while the Malefic Shrine lay to the south.
North and south, separated by a considerable distance.
“Did you find out everything?” Xu Zimo asked Ouyang Xiu.
“Yes,” Ouyang Xiu replied quickly.
“In the Malefic Shrine, each great beast has its own beast core. And whenever the Three Corpse Burial Ground is about to open, those beast cores are filled with items. Some contain divine techniques, some longevity medicines, and others true inheritance arts. All kinds of things, strange and varied, but everything can be found. The great beast are all in a sleeping state. As long as you steal the beast core quietly, there’s no problem. But if you wake a great beast, death is certain.”
Ouyang Xiu had gathered detailed information. With his explanation, Xu Zimo quickly grasped the situation.
“Who puts the items into the beast cores?” Xu Zimo asked curiously.
“No one knows. Some say it’s the lord of Three Corpse City, but no one can be sure,” Ouyang Xiu replied.
“In the past, people have indeed obtained the key to the Three Corpse Burial Ground from beast cores. So this is the most likely place for the key to appear.”
“Then let’s go take a look,” Xu Zimo said, waving his hand.
After some time, the three arrived at the Malefic Shrine.
These great beasts were no ordinary creatures.
They slept within the Malefic Shrine as guardian beasts of Three Corpse City.
Their origins were long forgotten.
Some said they were raised by the three ancient corpses of the Three Corpse Burial Ground.
Whenever Three Corpse City faced a great crisis, the great beasts would awaken to defend it.
Whether that was true or not, no one knew.
The Malefic Shrine was vast, said to occupy one-fifth of Three Corpse City.
Three Corpse City itself was enormous, with even the Three Corpse Burial Ground located within its bounds.
One-fifth of such a city was unimaginably large.
The Malefic Shrine was merely a collective term.
In truth, each great beast lived in its own independent particle world.
Xu Zimo stood before the Malefic Shrine and looked out.
Only then did he realize that these so-called great beasts were not living beings of flesh and blood.
They were skeletons.
White bones that had endured countless years without decaying.
“This place is truly strange,” Xu Zimo remarked.
“Yes, but these skeletons are extremely powerful. More importantly, they’re immortal. Not only have they lasted countless years, but even Three Flower realm cultivators once tried to destroy them and failed,” Ouyang Xiu said, sharing what he knew.
“Undying skeletons. That’s common knowledge here. So we must be extremely careful.”
Hearing this, Xu Zimo realized this was his first encounter with truly undying beings.
He did not know the principle behind it.
But they were clearly formidable.
The Malefic Shrine was immense. Xu Zimo noticed that signs were erected at intervals.
“Territory of the Dark Sun Beast.”
“Territory of the Divine Hou.”
“Territory of the Earthcore Ancient Dragon.”
These signs served as warnings.
Each great beast lived alone. From the outside, their domains seemed small.
But inside, they contained entire worlds.
Each great beast was qualified to possess its own space.
At that moment, Xu Zimo heard a scream.
He turned his head.
A blood-soaked figure fled out from one of the demon domains.
“Help! The Ice Phoenix has awakened!”
Behind him surged a power that froze heaven and earth.
