- Chapter 2392: Purchase of Exclusive Brush ㉑

We entered the concert hall and moved to our assigned seats. As expected of such good seats, the stage was clearly visible from where we sat.
The seating order was Eingana-san, Frea-san, Magnawell-san, Megiddo-san, me, and Cornelia-san, so Cornelia-san had at least some peace of mind to relax…… I hope.
No, it was clear through Sympathy Magic that Cornelia-san was mentally exhausted from nervousness and embarrassment, but this time, handling it was surprisingly difficult.
If there had only been one other person, I could have carried the conversation myself, but with four people around, it was unavoidable that someone I wasn’t speaking with would address Cornelia-san. It was also natural for them to be curious about Cornelia-san, who hadn’t attended the ship party or the birthday party.
That said, with Megiddo-san present, avoiding any awkward encounters was…… well, impossible. In fact, it was probably better that we encountered each other before entering the concert hall. Had it happened after we took our seats, it might have drawn a lot of attention with loud voices.
Fortunately, or perhaps thanks to her straightforward personality, Megiddo-san probably wouldn’t insist on extending the conversation elsewhere after the performance.
I figured that once we listened to the music together in the hall and achieved our purpose, we’d part ways.
[Considering the size of this hall, I guess it’s kind of like an orchestra, right?]
[No, the Allegra Symphony is a bit unique. Their composition is more like a wind ensemble.]
[……I don’t really know the difference between an orchestra and a wind ensemble though……][It’s actually quite simple. It’s whether string instruments are included. A wind ensemble is made up of woodwinds, brass, and percussion; with no string instruments included. Sometimes a double bass is added, but that’s about it. Orchestras, on the other hand, include string instruments like violins and cellos. If violins are included, it’s an orchestra; if not, it’s a wind ensemble. That’s an easy way to remember.]
[Hehh, I see……]
Megiddo-san explained my question clearly. As expected from someone knowledgeable in the arts, her explanation was easy to understand, and in her current young girl form, there was no oddness in how she spoke.
Appearance really matters. In her usual massive Demon Beast form or muscular humanoid form, talking about art would seem strange, but in her current form as a quiet, mysterious beauty, she actually looked quite fitting…… Well, Megiddo-san’s still the same with the way she speaks, of course……
[The Allegra Symphony is structured as a wind ensemble, performing bright and poppy pieces. Unlike mainstream classical performances, this ensemble plays joyfully and cheerfully, making their performances quite interesting.]
[Hehh, that sounds exciting. Megiddo-san, you know a lot about music, so do you have concert halls in your city too?]
[Yeah, got a pretty big one over there. And speaking of music, you know that otherworld singing contest back at the Harmonic Symphony? We even recently built a dedicated facility for that.]
[……R- Right, I remember you really liked that.]
I’d heard about it briefly, but it seems they really did build a facility for singing competitions. Well, even though part of me doesn’t want to recognize it as a proper singing contest, watching it is actually quite entertaining. The sight of them singing while fighting is flashy and visually impressive, so it seems likely to gain popularity.
Maybe eventually, like RINGTOSS, dedicated facilities could pop up all over the place.
When my conversation with Megiddo-san reached a lull, I leaned slightly and spoke in a low voice to Cornelia-san, who was sitting across from me.
[……Cornelia-san, are you alright?]
[Y- Yes. Though it’s embarrassing, I’ve been faced with people I normally wouldn’t have the chance to speak to, so I feel a bit uneasy, but I too am a young lady of a noble family…… I have experience speaking with people of higher status than myself. I’m a little tired, but I’m alright.]
[That would be great…… I think, knowing Megiddo-san’s personality, once we listen to the performance in the concert hall, we’ll probably just part ways normally afterward.]
Hmmm, her expression is composed, as expected of someone accustomed to aristocratic manners…… but the fatigue I sense through Sympathy Magic is significant.
Part of the reason it turned out this way is probably because of me, so if there’s any way to help her relax…… Ah, that’s right. We’re returning to the Imperial Capital of Archlesia Empire afterward, so going to Nifty there might be a good idea.
Eating something sweet is good when you’re tired, and some teas, like MK Blend with a small amount of leaves from Nebula’s World Tree, have relaxing effects…… Come to think of it, I recall Nebula mentioning that the tea leaves specially made for royal milk tea were going to be improved and sold commercially.
For now, I’ll plan to invite her to the café at Nifty later.
<Afterword>
Serious-senpai : [How strange. Kaito is undoubtedly acting with complete goodwill, genuinely worried about Cornelia and trying to be considerate, and I can even sense his intention to help her relax, given she’s mentally exhausted…… So why does it still feel like he’s “here to punch her stomach some more”……]
