- Chapter 2394: Purchase of Exclusive Brush ㉓

Tre-san and Sechs-san came out of Nifty’s store together, a rare combination in itself, but to my surprise, four more people followed behind them.
[Cento-san and Cien-san…… and even Nove-san and Tetra-san? I’m surprised to see you all here, but this lineup is unusual too…… Ah, wait, could it be……]
[Well, if it isn’t Kaito! What are the odds of meeting you here? What’s that phrase again? A bolt from the blue, right?]
[……It’s his shop, so it’s not that strange. Just call it a coincidence.]
Nove-san and Tetra-san were both part of Kuro’s family, and both were Count-rank Demons. The two of them had fought on Neun-san’s side during the incident with Dr. Vier, and after they offered their apologies and such, we ended up on friendly terms.
The tall, bright woman with short red hair was Nove-san. You wouldn’t be able to tell from her usual appearance, but she was apparently a Harpy. Her hands were shaped like wings, but since that made daily life inconvenient, she normally kept them in a more human form.
The small, quiet woman wearing a bucket hat pulled low over her golden-blonde hair was Tetra-san. I’d heard she belonged to a very rare race capable of producing precious metals from their own bodies.
Well, both of them held important positions, Nove-san was the Special Advisor in the HR Department of the Seditch Magic Tool Trading Company, while Tetra-san was the Special Advisor in the Accounting Department. So, looking closely, it seemed like most of Sedditch’s Special Advisors were gathered here…… though one person from the sales department was missing.
[Judging from the lineup, this seems related to the Seditch Magic Tool Trading Company…… Is Trois-san not with you?]
[Ahh, my husband didn’t come this time. The Sales Department isn’t involved in this matter. In the first place, our original schedule’s already finished, and since we came all the way to the Imperial Capital, we just thought we might as well drop by Kaito’s store. The café part’s reservation-only, but the shop itself’s open to walk-ins right now.]There was one more Special Advisor from the Sales Department, Trois-san, Nove-san’s husband, a man with an intelligent air. Together with him, the five of them made up the Special Advisors of the Seditch Magic Tool Trading Company.
At that moment, Tre-san spoke up with a bright smile.
[The reason we’re here was, well, Kaito probably already knows this, but it’s about the project Kuromu-sama is advancing to develop magic tool technology in the Human Realm. I mentioned it briefly during the ship party, but we’ve purchased the magic crystal mines in Archlesia Empire, and we’re planning to set up manufacturing bases in the Human Realm. That’s why we’ve brought along people from the Personnel and Accounting Departments. The existing branches will handle distribution, so the Sales Department isn’t involved this time, hence why Trois didn’t come.]
[……You sure do spill company details easily, Tre.]
[Come on, it’s fine if it’s Kaito, right?]
[……Unn, he’s fine. Still, even if I know he won’t, he just feels like the type who might let something slip elsewhere, and that makes me uneasy.]
As Tre-san gave a detailed explanation, Tetra-san let out a slightly exasperated comment. Well, Tre-san was serious about work, so she wouldn’t actually say anything that truly shouldn’t be said, but I could understand that uneasy feeling all the same.
[By the way, Miyama-dono, that young lady with you…… is she not the young lady of the Sharon County?]
[Eh? Ah, yes, she came along with me…… Wait, you know her?]
[Ah no, not personally. I often attend events as Kuromu-sama’s representative, so I’ve simply memorized the names and faces of Human Realm’s noble families’ heads and their relatives.]
He said it as if it were the most natural thing in the world, but honestly, being able to memorize the names and faces of every noble family head and their relatives was incredible. As expected of someone called the Great Sage of the Dead.
[Well then, it seems Sechs-san already knows her, but let me introduce her anyway. This is my friend, Cornelia Sharon-san.]
[Ohh, Sharon County…… that means she’s from the Sharon Company, right?]
I turned toward Cornelia-san as I introduced her…… only to find her eyes rolled back white!?
[C- Cornelia-san? Are you alright?]
[Hah!? Ah, y- y- y- yes, I’m fine. I just froze up for a moment in surprise. It’s a pleasure to meet you. I am Cornelia Sharon, eldest daughter of the Sharon County. The Sharon Company is always indebted to Seditch Magic Tool Trading Company for your continued cooperation.]
At my call, Cornelia-san quickly recovered, giving a graceful bow as she introduced herself. As I watched her, ready to step in and help if needed…… I suddenly felt a tug at my sleeve. When I turned, Tetra-san was beckoning me slightly. I leaned down, and she brought her lips close to my ear, whispering softly.
[……You on a date? I’m so jealous. You turn down my invitations, yet here you are……]
[……No, I don’t recall ever being invited by you though?]
[……I just felt like saying it. But if I did invite you, would you stay with me until dawn for a drink?]
[If we part ways that same day, I’ll keep you company.]
[……How cold. But that part of you is cute too.]
[I really can never tell how serious you are, Tetra-san.]
[……Fufufu.]
Tetra-san was a quiet, composed woman, but every now and then she’d tease me in these strange ways…… Seemingly enjoying my reactions, she’d say things that made it impossible to tell whether she was joking or serious.
And most likely, what she just said had nothing to do with the main topic.
[So, what brings you here today?]
[……Do you plan to continue your connections with that young lady?]
[Eh? Uh, yes, I suppose so. What of it?]
[……No reason in particular. Just something I should keep in mind as an accountant. It’s important information for future dealings with the Sharon Company after all.]
[H- Huh…… I don’t really get it, but yes, I do hope to stay on good terms with Cornelia-san.]
[……Unn, that’s helpful to know, thank you. You really are always so stimulating…… I love you.]
(T/N: Not sure if that last part is “I love you” or “I love it (his reactions)”. As Kaito said, she was vague with her words.)
Apparently satisfied with my answer, Tetra-san lifted the brim of her bucket hat with a finger, revealing her usually hidden silver eyes, and with a sharp wink, she pulled away.
