Infinite Awakening: My Exp Doubles Everyday - Chapter 370: Husband And Wife [PART 1]

Chapter 370: Husband And Wife [PART 1]
Dawn broke over the Azure Cloud Sect.
Although the day might have seemed like any other to others, this was a special day in the Azure Cloud Sect.
Disciples hurried through the courtyards with excitement, carrying red silk banners, spirit flowers, and glowing lanterns. Today was not just any day – it was the day when their favorite ship would get together frfr.
Their Grand Elder Xiang Yu and Sect Master Li Yao were getting married.
The Secondary Professions Pavilion had been completely transformed just like before.
In the MASSIVE circular courtyard, neat rows of cushioned seats were arranged around a magnificent central altar. Red silk banners fluttered in the gentle breeze and spirit flowers created a carpet of gold and crimson petals across the stone floors.
The altar itself was carved from pure white jade, decorated with spirit flowers that pulsed with a soft golden light every few seconds.
…
Xiang Yu stood before his new house that looked more like a castle than an actual house, admiring the magnificent structure.
As he gazed at what would soon be his and Li Yao’s shared home, he sensed someone approaching.
He turned to look around. “Is it time?” he wondered.
As he was preparing to go welcome the visitor, he suddenly noticed his skin’s strange appearance that looked like a space map. He quickly deployed his void silk that was acting as his clothes. The garments started vibrating before seeming to melt into his skin.
Then his entire body was covered in the void silk substance, creating a second skin.
Slowly, his skin started returning to normal human appearance, the strange space patterns fading away. When his entire body looked normal again, the void silk covering his skin started moving slightly, rippling like water. It then suddenly burst outward, dressing him up in magnificent wedding robes.
It was then that Elder Guo arrived, his own formal robes rustling softly as he approached.
“Master, you’re here,” Xiang Yu said with a bow.
Elder Guo didn’t respond immediately and walked over slowly, examining his disciple with careful eyes. He thought to himself that this boy was actually ready, he had expected to find him training and still not prepared.
It seemed he had truly grown up.
He sighed quietly. Things had really changed over the past two months.
Before, he would still have been worried that Xiang Yu wasn’t ready, but it would have been for being lazy, not for being so obsessed with training that he might forget everything else. He shook his head at how much had changed.
He then walked over to Xiang Yu and fixed up his robes slightly, adjusting the collar and smoothing down a wrinkle. He wiped off a small speck of dust with his hand and nodded approvingly.
“Good. Let’s not keep the guests waiting, especially after inviting them on such short notice,” he said with a small smile.
…
Meanwhile, in the Phoenix Ascension Pavilion, Li Yao sat before a bronze mirror while Elder Huang fussed over her appearance.
Her wedding robes were breathtaking – deep red silk embroidered with phoenix patterns that seemed to move and dance depending on how light hit it. The fabric was woven from spirit silk, giving it an otherworldly shimmer.
Looking at her, anyone who didn’t know her personally would think she was the emperor’s daughter.
As for those who knew her, well…
“Hold still for one second dammit,” Elder Huang yelled as she restrained Li Yao with one hand and arranged jade ornaments in her hair.
Li Yao smiled, stopping to move. She felt her hands tremble slightly.
She thought to herself that she was still playing around just a minute ago but it was just now hitting her – this was really happening.
She could hardly believe this day had finally come. After everything they had been through – Gu Hanming’s plot, the Wuming Cult as a whole, the demons, Tianling, and also the central continent. Although challenges still remained, she didn’t feel like she needed to worry, after all, she would be facing them with her husband.
She raised her hand, watching her ring finger, it was so close she could almost feel it. As she did this, her expression suddenly turned serious, “Gu Hanming,” she gritted her teeth, “Don’t think for a second that just because I’m getting married, I’ll forget. This grudge, even if you dive in the yellow river a million times, will never be washed away”
“Kekeke, I still remember your scent, this hatred inside my heart will never calm down until I hold your heart in my hand and squeeze the life out of it. Then I’ll follow you in your next reincarnation and do it again, and again, and again, and again for the number of seconds that senior brother and I weren’t married”
[…]
Elder Huang placed the final touch – a thin red spirit silk veil.
“There,” she said, stepping back to admire her work. “With my skills, even that insensitive Xiang Yu won’t be able to look away from you for a second.”
…
By mid-morning, guests had begun arriving from across the eastern region.
And to everyone’s surprise, even guests from beyond the eastern continent had arrived. People from the western, southern, northern, and even the mighty central continent had come to attend the wedding.
Those who came from the central continent weren’t important people like the holy land sect master but were still equally as important. Many of them were delegates from the ten great families here to scope out the scene and see if this tiny sect that had become popular all of a sudden was really worth anything.
Of course, spies from the holy lands were also here. The Azure Cloud Sect’s intelligence network already knew of them but let them in by the grand elder’s orders who could sense that they were not strong. As for the threat of information leaking, Xiang Yu didn’t think anything of it, in fact, he wanted information to leak.
In the Azure Cloud Sect, there were a few places where branches of the spirit vein leaked immortal energy. Xiang Yu had dropped the concealment formation in one of the locations and was hoping that one of the spies could pick up on the subtle immortal energy and assume that they still had the immortal treasure.
He didn’t know if it would actually work though…

For those who forgot, basically, gu hanming is this no name character from Chapter 20 that li yao has a grudge on for some reason.
“If Dean Gu Hanming hadn’t frightened senior brother back then, he probably would have already agreed to marry me” – Li Yao, Chapter 155
