Chapter 410: New Martial Path [PART 1]
The second ability was… [Enlightenment].
This ability allowed him to enter a state of enlightenment for ten minutes each day.
The enlightenment state would be one level above his current enlightenment grade.
At the moment, in that state, his enlightenment would reach celestial grade for ten minutes.
Although it seemed short, it was actually quite a long time. The other enlightenment states he had experienced before lasted about the same length.
The difference between immortal and celestial grades was quite high, so having celestial grade enlightenment even for just a few minutes was definitely something valuable.
This ability would probably scale as he leveled up the profession, so he didn’t have to worry about time. At some point, it might even extend to hours. He currently had one chance for enlightenment remaining, but he decided not to use it at the moment.
He decided to check out the benefits of the transcendent dao body breakthrough.
First was an incredible increase in raw physical strength – more than three times his base physical strength and two layers of body refining.
He was now at the forty-ninth layer of body refining, just a step away from the fifty he had estimated before. He thought to himself that according to his theory, he probably wouldn’t be able to control his strength at level fifty. But it seemed he had failed to account for other boosts to strength that affected his base power without taking body refining into consideration.
He looked around him and space-time seemed to be breaking apart everywhere. He moved his hand and space-time began distorting.
“Senior brother?” Li Yao called out, instantly appearing before him.
“Wait, stay where you are. Don’t come any closer,” Xiang Yu said.
“Husband…” she began. Her eyes shifted, entering her heavenly dao form. She reached out to Xiang Yu, but her law of heavenly way was pushed back.
||This is…|| she murmured as she looked at her hand.
[Just do as he says. His body is too strong – not even this can contain him at the moment] the empress said. She thought to herself that she hadn’t expected someone could be so strong physically. Xiang Yu was really on another level. His body was almost entering the immortal realm based on pure physical strength.
||What do I do? I can feel the chaos around him. If I don’t help him, senior brother will be sucked out of the world and into the chaos|| she said in panic.
[It’s okay. Although you can’t touch him, you can touch the area around him. Just lock down the time and space around him until he can control his power] the empress explained.
Li Yao gathered her power and spread it around the space-time surrounding Xiang Yu, locking it down.
Inside the chaos, Xiang Yu sat perfectly still, ensuring minimal movement.
He thought to himself that he hadn’t expected it to be so soon. It seemed he really had to pioneer a new way of body cultivation. He was planning to save this enlightenment chance for something else, but it seemed he couldn’t after all.
He instantly activated the enlightenment ability and found himself back in the familiar location where all sorts of lights converged.
…
He looked around, thinking to himself that it felt the same as before.
It seemed the enlightenment he had experienced before was also at the celestial level. He shook his head to clear his thoughts – he didn’t have much time.
He began analyzing the way the body advanced.
He thought to himself that the body advancement system didn’t seem to have been studied all that much as everyone seemed to have their own way of advancing.
They just relied on some method to stimulate the body and force it to advance.
The problem with this was that unlike the qi realms – where as you get more and more qi, you eventually unlock a core that acts as a hub to control all the qi so it doesn’t get out of control, and later on, it turns into a golden core and later all the qi is stored in the spiritual sea, ensuring complete control – the power of the body was different.
How could it be controlled if it was always active intrinsically?
He held his chin. What if it was different? he wondered. He began writing down body refining methods, each having its own unique way of stimulating the body. He then began rewriting them, changing variables and testing for results.
“Nah, this won’t work,” he thought, looking at one of the methods he had crafted.
He thought to himself that the main problem was energy. Although body cultivation didn’t work through qi, it still used some sort of energy to accomplish such feats.
“This energy…” he began. “I’ll call it internal energy for now,” he thought.
He then began to visualize his internal energy.
He felt it all over his body, but something was strange. Instead of circulating inside the body like qi did, it instead concentrated at the edges of his body, mainly under his skin. And from the way it was acting, it seemed to be trying to escape through his skin.
He nodded. No wonder his physical strength was so difficult to get under control, it was trying to break out, making his skin extremely hard and always in attack mode.
This was not good. He needed to get the internal energy under control, but to do that, he needed to know what it was running from. Looking at how it was pushing against the skin and trying to escape, it seemed to be trying to run from something.
He observed his internal structure, analyzing it much more carefully this time. It was then that he realized what was happening. His qi that was circulating through his qi pathways seemed to be scaring away the internal energy.
He used his strength and moved some of his internal energy, bringing it together with some qi in his body. As the two came together, they started reacting and sparks began flying. He forced the two even closer and suddenly, they popped, exploding a part of his body.
