Chapter 163: Blood Zombie Young Master
What appeared before them was not a natural cave at all. It was a massive hall constructed entirely from bluestone. The floor and walls were carved with countless crimson runes that emitted a chilling aura. Narrow trenches similar to canals crisscrossed the ground throughout the hall.
Yet what flowed through those channels was not water. It was thick, dark red blood.
When their gazes followed the direction of the trenches, the source quickly became clear.
All around the hall, countless figures were suspended against the walls. Their shoulder blades had been pierced by sharp iron hooks, leaving them hanging like lifeless merchandise on display. The sight was grotesque and horrifying enough to make anyone’s heart shudder.
Fresh blood continued to drip from their bodies without pause. The crimson liquid flowed steadily down into the trenches below, then traveled along the channels toward the center of the hall.
At the center stood a large pool filled entirely with blood.
Inside that pool sat a young man in meditation. His upper body was bare, revealing skin covered in strange crimson runes that twisted across his body like living markings. His appearance carried an eerie and sinister aura that made him look less like a human and more like a demon.
Seated cross legged within the blood pool, the young man’s pores remained open as though his entire body were breathing. The blood around him churned and bubbled as it was drawn into him. A steady gurgling sound echoed throughout the hall as he greedily absorbed the crimson liquid.
With every moment that passed and every drop of blood he devoured, the demonic young man’s aura grew stronger.
The bizarre and horrifying scene caused everyone who witnessed it to feel a chill crawl up their spine. Their scalps tingled as they stared at the monstrous ritual unfolding before them.
“Blood Zombie Young Master.”
Li Yun’s gaze turned icy as he spoke the title in a low and steady voice.
A faint chuckle echoed from the blood pool. “Heh. Have the fish finally taken the bait? You arrived sooner than I expected, but it makes little difference. Whether you come early or late, the result will be the same. This place is a dead end for all of you.”
As the voice faded, the young man seated in the pool slowly opened his eyes. They were crimson in color, as if blood itself flowed within them. The corners of his lips lifted slightly into a cold and sinister smile.
“Taken the bait?” Fu Ting repeated. Her expression shifted as a troubling thought crossed her mind. “What do you mean by that?”
The Blood Zombie Young Master let out a low laugh. “Do you truly believe that by capturing a few Blood Zombies you could easily learn my location? If it were that simple, I would have been hunted down long ago and would never have survived until now. The reason you discovered this place so easily is because I allowed it.”
His voice echoed calmly throughout the hall. “The Blood Zombies outside were nothing more than bait that I deliberately released. Their purpose was to lure disciples from the various sects into the Blood Demon Cave in small groups. If all the sect disciples across the Southern Martial Domain attacked me together, even I would struggle to survive. However, when they arrive one group at a time, things become far simpler. To me, you are nothing more than prey that has walked willingly into my mouth.”
As he spoke, the Blood Zombie Young Master slowly rose from the blood pool. Thick crimson liquid streamed down his body while the demonic runes on his skin glowed faintly.
It was now clear that he had known of the sects’ attempt to eliminate him from the very beginning. Instead of fleeing, he had chosen to remain and set a trap to slaughter the disciples sent after him. Such audacity revealed both arrogance and madness.
Fu Ting’s expression turned cold. “Blood Zombie Young Master, even if we have fallen into your trap, what of it? You should understand that before absolute strength, any scheme or trick will eventually be crushed.”
“That is correct,” the Blood Zombie Young Master replied with a faint smile. “Before absolute strength, all conspiracies become meaningless.”
His crimson eyes slowly swept across the group. “Unfortunately for you, none of you possess that kind of strength.”
His smile deepened with chilling arrogance. “From the strength you displayed earlier, I can see that you disciples of the Martial Ascension Gate are not entirely weak. However, in my eyes, you are nothing more than a group of insignificant creatures waiting to be slaughtered.”
“Blood Zombie Claw!”
Before he had even finished speaking, the Blood Zombie Young Master suddenly launched his attack.
His body blurred as he moved, leaving behind a streak of crimson light that flashed through the air like a ghostly shadow. In the blink of an eye he closed the distance between them. As he rushed forward, he raised his hand, and under the eerie glow of the red aura his five fingers seemed to transform into sharp claws. Each finger sliced through the air with vicious force, leaving five savage trails as the attack tore toward Li Yun and the others.
“Get back!”
Zhu Ximen’s eyes widened as he stepped forward without hesitation. He raised his fist and threw a powerful punch that carried a fierce and domineering aura. The force behind the strike surged outward like a wave of blazing energy as it collided with the incoming claw.
A thunderous impact echoed through the hall.
The collision forced both Zhu Ximen and the Blood Zombie Young Master to retreat several steps.
Zhu Ximen slid backward for more than ten paces before finally steadying himself. When he lowered his gaze toward his fist, he noticed a faint crimson stain spreading across the skin. A slight burning sensation throbbed from the spot where the attack had struck him.
“What strange and sinister qi,” Zhu Ximen muttered as his expression turned serious.
Fu Ting spoke from the side after witnessing the exchange. “The Blood Zombie Young Master must have cultivated the Blood Demonic Technique left behind by the Blood Zombie Demon General. The qi he used just now is the unique Blood Demonic qi formed through that technique. Its power is extremely fierce, and it also carries a poisonous nature.”
